Obama Berlin speech vs. Apple’s 1984 commercial

Are we the only ones who thought of Apple’s famous “1984” commercial when we saw Obama’s videotaped Fall-of-the-Berlin-Wall speech? Obama’s speech even comes with the right echo.

Kind of eerie, isn’t it?

Very funny…

Still the commie clown is a regular stutter monkey regardless of how much effort is put into the production…

Of course it’s scary to you. That’s just how they want you. Frightened and willing to vote for anyone who will shoo away the boogyman. Keep sucking it up and the fascist conservative republicans will keep serving it.
Heil Cheney!

Nope – I really don’t see the connection. Obama is talking the usual U.S. president stuff about freedom and democracy, the Apple advert is about 1984 and the pervasive state that spyed on its citizens secretly (something the Bush administration did).

Joe,
That’s correct. They have nothing but desperate negativity. There’s another article on this site complaining about the way Obama stands during the National Anthem.
Good reference about the illegal wire taps, they are always committing crimes and then trying to accuse someone else of doing it. Look at health care, they say “we don’t want the government intruding on our personal health care decisions” and yet, the only time I can ever remember this happening is when Bush and the Republicans passed over-night legislation to block the wishes of Terry Scheivo’s family on how her life should end. Hypocrites.

P.S. They claim to cherish their rights when it comes to bearing arms, but had no problem with Bush’s illegal wire taps which violated their right to privacy. Where’s the consistancy? I care about all of my rights, no matter who, or which political party is infringing upon them.

Bush caught hell for that (wire taps and sneak and peek warrants). Now when Obama pulls crap like flag@whitehouse.gov and won’t let his cazrs be examined publicly, and making a Nixon style enemies list of media heads who question him, its supposed to be fine to NOT put his feet to the fire?

Also what has Obama done to really undo the ‘evil’ of the DHS’s invasive ways? We can’t call terrorism by the name ‘terrorism’ any more but that is it (stupid move- Ft Hood any one? WTF was that? Oh- terrorism!). How is he less repressive? He is MORE invasive and more repressive. And for what cause now? With Bush there was that little 9/11 event as the kick off… With Barry? That whole citizen protest/tea party and dislike of government take over of health care event? That merits Barry’s actions? No.

Bush did many things right and many things that were shady. He is no longer the POTUS and Obama is. Obama is a menace and just as bad, if not in fact many times worse, then Bush was when it came to questionable acts that limit freedom. Obama is in the here and now and HE is the one who needs to be looked and and opposed. Bush had a decent economy and Obama can’t boast that same claim. Go back in time if you want to bust on Bush- live in the now and see things are they are happening and that means Obama is the fool that must be looked at and challenged.

@Jon
Go and watch some Alex Jones documentaries. I am not busted on you, seriously I’d think you’d like movies he made. Terrorstorm, Fall of the Republic, Obama Deception (fire up the torrents). Jones rips on Bush and on Obama. That seems to be right up your alley.

On topic:
Obama can read a speech on the Berlin Wall’s dismantling but is too lazy to get off his ass and fly to be a part of the ceremony? Guess there was no Olympic bid in German that required him to use tax payer money to go and whore for his Chicago Boss to get that entitlement. That whole ‘establishing liberty’ and victory over communism issue was not as pressing. Or maybe the fool Obama was just taking his time and practicing his bows for the next run in with a world leader.

JPT,
1. You’re comparing the “flag@whitehouse.gov” situation to illegal wire taps. The Obama White House took the site down and explained the situation in no uncertain terms. You had Betsy McCaughey and others spreading complete lies about health care reform. The White House said “if you receive information on the health care bill that seems fishy, forward it to us and we’ll address whatever issues it raises. An automated program started responding to these forwarded emails and inadvertently sent them to others that were in these peoples contacts lists. It was never intended, and never proven beyond an allegation that the President was compiling an “enemies list”. It was meant to dispel misinformation on health care. It was definately a P.R. misstep, but no one’s rights were violated and the White House moved immediately to stop the program so that people would be assured that nothing untoward was happening. On the other hand, Bush knowingly violated americans rights in using illegal wire taps. If you think the two are close enough to draw a comparison then I cannot help you. You are determined to see it that way.

2. You argue that Obama hasn’t dismantled the Office of Homeland Security. The office itself is not a danger, but rather it’s mis-use.

3. You say Georgey is in the past but Obama is in the present. Then you say Bush had a good economy Obama doesn’t. We are living in the Bush economy. His fiscal mis-steps are the here and now reality of today. That’s not someone who just wants to beat up on Bush like the conservatives did when Clinton was out. We are all living with the realities of Bush’s economy, right this very minute. So Bush is still very much a part of the discourse no matter how much you want people to forget about him.

4. You’re last paragraph is really nothing more than a rant. I’ll address it anyway. No Obama didn’t make it to the Berlin wall, the president isn’t going to make it to every event every where in the world. Getting the Olympics in Chicago I’m sure was personally important to the President, and no doubt he owes some political favors in Illinoise. Having said that, the Olympics are big money for the city and nation that hosts them. So while his motives may not have been completely altruistic, had he succeeded, america would have gained. I will say this, I think Obama would have enough sense to get off his ass on 9/11. Instead the secret service had to make a second trip into the school room to tell Bozo the President to get his stupid ass moving. And why is it you conservatives get so bent out of shape by the U.S. President showing respect to foreign dignitaries? Do you have any understanding of diplomacy or statesmanship?
