Destiny Mathis, one of the gullible ObamaBots who dedicated herself to getting this charlatan elected back in 2008, isn’t getting the kind of help she expected from her President.
The Daily Mail UK explains her heartbreaking situation:
"How much am I bid for this hand-written letter from Barack Obama?"
Opening the handwritten letter from President Obama brought a glimmer of hope to her life as he promised her that things would get better for her and her family.
And despite the fact Destiny Mathis, from Hobart, Indiana, treasured the letter, more than two years later she has no choice but to sell it as she and her three children face eviction from their home.
The 26-year-old was an avid campaigner for Mr Obama in 2008, getting T-shirts made and encouraging people in her neighbourhood to vote.
Back then her life was tough but she had hope for her own future and the future of America.
She graduated top of her class in 2005 and was working as a surgical technician while also helping her mother, who was battling cancer at the time.
She said: ‘I campaigned for him hard. I got the shirts made, the Barack the Vote shirts made. We’ve done a lot.’
We initially felt badly for Destiny. Then we noticed something about the photo that came with her story – the one that showed the 26-year old with her three kids, including a baby and another one that’s still young enough to suck on a bottle.
Our questions for Destiny:
Did it ever occur to you to keep your knees together rather than cranking kids out on an assembly line?
If you graduated from school in 2005 and have had at least two kids since then, how much have you actually worked since you got out of school?
If you were unable to work because you were either pregnant or raising your children, have you been on welfare?
Where’s the father or fathers of your children? He or they seem to be conspicuously absent from this story and your personal finances.
And finally, Destiny, how’s that hopey changey thing working out for you?

Hell, this story is typical for black women. Get knocked up by some saggy pants loser and let the taxpayers foot the bill for all the bastard babies. I see it over and over and over again.

I gave you a thumbs down for the word typical. I am a black woman and this is not typical of me nor many members of my immediate family nor is it typical for females in my church nor is it for many of my friends. It is not typical. It depends on the upbringing and the surroundings that lead to such a behavior. So if ANYTHING it is typical of poor/bad upbringing, no to bad education, poor neighboorhood/communities, with a serious lack of moral education/upbringing.
It is actually clustered more in inner city areas where the black community maybe poor/uneducated, but you can also see this in small towns where the most of the population is white. You can also see it in poor asian population and hispanic populations… However I know of many black women who come out of such surroundings and poverty (like my Mother) who didn’t churn out child after child from different fathers. You have seen it again and again? Where in the media? On BET? Do you know many black people? If all the black people you know are like this I have to ask where you live?
I have seen a lot of white women with bunch of kids who live in trailer parks and every other child has a different daddy. I have seen it again and again and again. A lot of these women look trashy, walk trashy and talk trashy. Is this typical of white women? The answer to that is no because I have also seen white women who live the way I LIVE. It is not about the color it is about the person and their surroundings and upbringing. Women like this lady come in all colors, it happens even in places that you wouldn’t think.

Well, I have seen this behavior prevalent among black women, maybe not by the raw numbers but definitely by the percentages.
I agree, this behavior is not the sole provence of one ethnic group, however if your honest with yourself you can’t help notice how much it occurs in black communities. And it’s a shame no black leader seems to care – Bill Cosby said a few words a while back and was crucified by the press.

If you are going to talk about numbers and percentages please provide them and a verifiable link or book or study for me to look at.
I need to know where the majority that exhibit this behavior live, what is their past geneology, what is their education, what type of upbringing they had and what is their income. Is is prevalent because they are BLACK or it is prevalent because they are poor (and other socio-economic reasons) and thus you would see this behavior as prevalent on women with similar backgrounds regardless of color of skin?
Is this prevalent because more Black women tend to be poorer and from run down backgrounds (education, morals, upbringing) than other female counterparts? Is it prevalent because there are less black women than other female counterparts? I need facts here.
You may see it in the media and in your neighborhood, but it is not typical of all black women it is typical of some within certain frameworks. I think that in the end is the difference. I see so called “white trash” women who exhibit THE SAME behaviors that we are speaking of, around here a lot, but it could be because I live in TX where a lot of white people live in the boondocks and trailer parks, yet I cannot say that is typical of white women. It is typical of white women UNDER THOSE CIRCUMSTANCES though. That is the difference. Your generality was the problem for me that is all.
The media has been good about propagating the welfare queen as a black woman. Interestingly enough a good deal of those receiving welfare are white, hispanic and asian poor people as well. The problem here is not the color it is the socio-economic issues. Perhaps you believe it is prevalent in black communities because you do not have access to other ethnic groups or you are near poor black communities. Trust me go to poor hispanic communities or asian communities or white communites. You will see what I mean.

Poverty, being uneducated, being a whore, being trashy knows no racial/ethnical bounds. It’s just a bi-product of this country’s policies over the last 80 years.

Exactly. There are way too many factors, way too many variants, way too many differences, too many similiarities, too many people, history and circumstances to denote that certain behaviors and the results of such behaviors are mostly under the umbrella of one particular group of people.

I think the meme of black women being this way has its beginnings in the earliest liberal attempts at destroying the family. Their first major successes in using welfare and entitlement this way was among the urban poor, and there was a higher percentage of vulnerable families who happened to be black.
The racist perception that this was *because* they were black was encouraged. It keeps politically significant numbers of people from looking for the source of the problem until it’s too late. They’re coming after everybody’s family now.
However, if urban poor at the time were irish, catholic or some other nationality/group, we’d be reading about how it is because they’re *that* group, rather than looking at the true source — using government funds and incentives to destroy families as part of an attempt to impose an all-encompassing state.
Just an opinion, but I can’t find many other ways to explain this, especially considering how strong the majority of black families were prior to the advent of Johnson’s (not so) Great Society. Dr. Sowell has had many stories about those familial strengths and values that I find inspiring.
A person can make a very good case for how the adversity and prejudice many black families faced strengthened their traditional family structure, and only a social cocktail of welfare cash, drug culture, public school indoctrination, moral equivalence, man-hating, and racially biased programs could weaken that.
The effect of the combination of all these efforts is so dramatic in terms of destroying families that I can only conclude that it was planned, and since almost all of these items are exclusively liberal shibboleths, I also conclude that they are the ones responsible, especially since they have known for years about these effects, but their only cry is for “more!, more!, more!”, rather than “broken! fix! fix! fix!”.
To anyone that can conclude that this woman is in this condition because she is black, or presume that this condition is a black problem, I have to say this: Your ignorance and bias is an integral, planned part of the problem, and will lead to the destruction of your family as well.

Excellent Perlcat! Excellent. I agree. It was planned. Let’s not forget that Hillary Clinton’s favorite progressive, Margaret Sanger, and her abortion mills was a racist. This is the problem that people do not understand, liberals/progressives changed one plantation from another (one for of slavery over another). Sadly I believe it is as simple as that. Like you said people who do not realize this and believe it is BECAUSE they are black are indeed insane.

What a load of self-serving crap. Ikeda would be jealous.
It is all about problem ownership. If I unknowingly drive a defective car and hurt someone, I do not own the responsibility. If I continue to drive it, and continue to hurt people, eventually I would legally assume responsibility for the damage I caused, even though I had not originated the defect. At some point, even if you did not actually *plan* the effect, you are either taking advantage of it, or just don’t care. Just so with liberalism and the social problems of the welfare state, which you serve as an apologist for. Morally speaking, you and your ilk have a lot in common with a man who loosens the carpet on the stairs in the hopes his wife will fall and break her neck.
Your attempt at deflecting blame back on me is pointless. In the first place, you would have to have been open minded enough to comprehend what I wrote in order to write a reply that would make sense. As it stands, accusing me of racism is laughable in terms of what I actually wrote. You got pissed first sentence in, and your reply just documents the exact point where you stopped thinking. You gotta think before you type.
As a matter of fact, most of the issues you attempt to cover were if not created by liberals, made orders of magnitude worse by liberals. How many people below the poverty line are suffering because of the outrageous energy policies of this administration, as an example? You probably don’t know anyone, but I know plenty that cannot afford to get to work. I suppose it’s all good for you — you can continue blaming conservatives for social problems and avoid any culpability for what has been proven to increase human misery by being increasingly shrill and argumentative. Maybe you can blame “rich people” when the same poor people can’t afford to heat their houses in the name of eliminating coal-fired power plants. Go ahead, I’m sure you will — you have no shame at all.
Eventually, people will get wise to you and your liberal friends and discover exactly how much damage and misery they have caused, and that will be the end of it.

Very well written, and very true. The government played an integral role in the destruction of the nuclear family. There are other factors, such as the increases in technology. But it has been tied in many books written by much better authors then I to the disintegration of the familial unit. The welfare state has also done another thing that is unfortunate. It has separated us as a society from our elderly. I sometimes feel without their wisdom, we are doomed to fail.

You are 100% right on the separation from the elderly. Before nursing homes were subsidized, taking in the family elders was just part of life. My great-great grandfathers spent their last years with their children. Now, in our “modern”, “enlightened” culture, we stuff them into nursing homes because there is enough government money to do so.
I’m not saying that staying with the kids is a good choice everywhere, but subsidizing this callous disregard for our elders has robbed many families of a lot of wisdom, and has also condemned the elderly to lonely, miserable deaths that I would not wish on anyone. I have friends who were absolutely miserable in their last years in the nursing home — they essentially died of broken hearts. Their words: “Now we know how homeless people feel” haunts me today — especially since they built up a small fortune that their children promptly separated them from so that the government would pay for their stay.
There was no excuse for putting either of them in a nursing home with their door blocked open like they were criminals — both were mentally fit, and could have lived for years in assisted living, or preferably in their own house with someone to look in on them from time to time.
Again, choosing where to house your parents is a serious choice — but the alternative is much worse IMO. If a person thinks that they can get away with it, they need to look at their children. They are the ones who see how easy it was for you to warehouse your own flesh and blood, and in a couple decades will be making the same decision about you.

liberals’ perception did not stem from their being “black”. It came out of blacks being enslaved, then suffering decades of segregation. Liberals used to be called bleeding hearts, moonbats, and suffering from White Guilt.. Now they are simply characterized as racist fascists. That characterization has changed before my eyes (ironic & fascinating, because conservatives were often mischaracterized using the very same terms)

There’s a lot of emotions around this, alien.
As an example of the conservative dilemma, I get asked “what’s *my* solution” to social problems as a conservative. The problem is, any solution I offer is used to “prove” to the world how I am heartless and somehow hate the poor and disadvantaged. It’s a sucker bet, much like betting on three card monte — your first clue that you are being suckered is that you think the game isn’t rigged.
Many of these problems were caused, or made dramatically worse by the welfare state. They will not go away until an honest admission of ownership comes out of the left — because until then, the whole subject is used to get liberals into office by mischaracterizing conservatives, while doing *nothing* for the people harmed by what has devolved into an electioneering scheme.
Maybe they aren’t racist fascists in the “David Duke fans for Hitler” sense — but they make political hay out of a consistent drive towards statism (yes, Bush was a statist, too — wasn’t my first choice for president, either) and racial politics that solves no racial problems, but certainly profits from them and has done little to diffuse tensions, but spends a lot of time and resources subsidizing race baiters and class warfare.
So, if I seem harsh at times, it is because I see real problems that are crying out for real solutions, and until somebody on the left starts to grow up, there will be no honest effort at a solution from them, and any honest effort from conservatives will actually make the problem worse. I feel for the people caught up in the welfare state — I really do. But I also know that there is no way for conservatives to solve it on their own, barring an absolute, total collapse of the democrat party.
Look — when Clinton decided it suited him politically to make an honest attempt at welfare reform, he did so, and when he did, people’s lives improved. As a result, he was rewarded with a second term.

I think you have a good heart
I understand conservative frustrations. Many liberals are simply naive about the capacity for abuse in long entrenched welfare systems. It occurs in the takers, and in the apparatus of the bloated bureaucracies that service them.
Many liberals are not so naive, but out of habit–or fear of being called heartless–pay little heed to the abuse.
We are all statists to some degree.. Obviously you are a stronger libertarian than I. But we give over to the State the power to kill, to incarcerate, to enforce contracts, to track births and marriage and populations, and the command of roads and coast and Vast Tracts of Land (even the swampy sinky kind..), amongst other things..
One of my favorite Statist desires is to drop welfare recipients into work programs.. CCC/WPA style. I am even inclined to conscript the destitute into military service, at times. These sentiments get surprisingly good reactions out of many conservatives, especially if you can find a way to blend in private industry. Obviously we’d have to be vigilant against corruption and abuse, but this has to be better than subsidizing couch time.
An out-of-control welfare state won’t destroy the nation, unless badly done, but it will often stifle its growth. But a return to laissez faire economics won’t do us any good either. We are f-cking it up on both ends. Somehow other nations have credible anti-poverty programs that cost less, and they manage to prevent the massive bleeding of jobs and whole industries overseas that has characterized our own economy the last few decades. I fear we are contributing to the growth of foreign rent seekers which will further tax us this century, and we’ve allowed amoral commercialism to pump horrible values into our children. Ads are anti-education, anti-intellectual, anti-elderly, anti-authority, anti-parent, even anti-dad (on a couple occasions i’ve warned my daughter that I am Not That Dipshit in the the Commercial). This feeds back into the consistent lament amongst employers, here, that they cannot find qualified engineers, skilled workers, etc.. Of course there’s probably some exaggeration, in order to take advantage of cheaper H1-B drones, or just offshore them, but i can’t discount the general pattern
forgive the meandering bloviation

The short answer to fixing it is to break the cycle. This means that any change made (or even what is continuing to happen) needs to be looked at in terms of more than just throwing money at a very real problem.
I’m less than thrilled at conscripting people, simply because they would make lousy soldiers, and would be more of a discipline problem whose only resolution would probably be called abuse in polite circles.
As a geek who reverse-engineers bad applications, I can tell you that the first thing you have to do is observe and figure out the nature of the problem. While a lot of proposed solutions may satisfy peoples’ need for vindictiveness, I don’t think they approach the solution in a productive way.
Many people who are unable to succeed in our society are not evil — or even lazy — just poorly equipped to deal with modern society. Of them, many used to be what we called day laborers or hobos — what we now lump into the overly broad “homeless” category. This does not account for women with children, but bear with me on that. A hobo cannot relate to working 40 hours a week at a steady job in hopes of one day retiring — many are a collection of various mental illnesses, and need to be given a way to be productive in ways they understand.
A woman who is chronically on the dole has been incentivized to be on the dole. Maybe it is rage against society — maybe it is simple greed — but she keeps on the dole through two proven methods — not having a steady family, and giving birth to children she cannot support.
In order to break the cycle and not visit her children with generational misery, we have to look at how we are spending our money, and the terms in which we grant it to people. If we grant money to people to continue their sub optimal lifestyle based upon factors that destroy what little family structure they have, a change has to be made accordingly, or the negative behavior will continue.
A single person that is mentally capable needs no significant help — possibly job training and counseling, combined with some form of introduction to the labor force. If they do not want to take advantage of it, they will have to suffer the consequences of their actions, much like what would happen to me if I decided to stop paying the electricity bill. In a not-so-unrelated note, if illegal immigration were ever to be brought under control, a large number of the day labor jobs that used to be the bread and butter of the hobo would become available to them again. It may not be a lifestyle you and I would like, but it is one they have understood and worked with in the past, and can succeed at in their own fashion. It would be much better than freezing to death in the winter…
A parent that has children is a special problem. Short term aid and career counseling is a must — but if they wish to continue to receive benefits after the expiration of the training, they should first take measures to not have more children to condemn to poverty, possibly through getting a substantial cash payout for having their tubes tied. If that is onerous, possibly they can seek to re-establish a normal family support network with a healthy relationship with a wage-earner.
You have to remember — all of us as a nation are writing the checks for this behavior. People that had to pay for their own children either make the sacrifices necessary, or take measures to prevent unwanted pregnancies. As an example, I went and had the snip-snip — because if I did not, I would not be able to provide for all of my children properly. My Catholic friend chooses to have more children — but that is his choice, and he makes the sacrifices necessary to support his children. Why should he and I pay for someone to be out-of-control?
A successful society needs to find a way to convert non-productive members into being productive,. If they cannot or will not, then the society as a whole needs to find a way to minimize the damage they cause to society and to their children. It doesn’t need to be vindictive, but sometimes, you have to consider more options than the ones that are clearly not working.
I do not see a major issue with taking children out of an abusive home — abuse and neglect appear in many forms — and generational welfare dependence is just another form of abuse & neglect IMO. The (now grown) children I actually know in this situation all suffered from neglect, and essentially self-raised themselves.
If parents have no emotional attachment to their children to the point where they can condemn them to poverty and despair while they have the tools to rise out of it, then their children need to be given a fresh start — and while foster care may be over-the-top, boarding schools may be useful.
If you stop paying people to have children to perpetuate their benefits, and you give them the tools to succeed, and you give their children hope for a better future, then the cycle can be broken. If their children see a better life outside their hopelessly broken homes, they may set their sights higher than the local gangs or teen pregnancy. However, right now, many kids in this situation face enormous peer pressure to remain in the state they are. To allow that to continue is a form of state-sponsored neglect.
I suppose I will be called heartless for writing this — but if you want a solution, there are the bones of it. Make of it what you will.

My sister in law managed to put her own mother who was suffering from dimentia into a “home”, and siphon hundreds of thousands from her retirement fund. These things happen. My brother visited her once against his wife’s desires and after about 6 months she had lost considerable weight. She died about 4 months later. It is despicable, and isn’t a partisan-centric issue.

I agree with AZ Dude, “Well said, KimmyQueen. Well said.”
This problem knows no ethnic bounds. My cousin said in 1986, upon the occasion of discovering she was pregnant out-of-wedlock a second time, “Well, as long as the state keeps paying me (welfare) for having babies, I’m gonna keep getting pregnant.”
My family is of First Nations descent.

Yep, I agree with Ms. Kimmy. As a tubby, white, southern guy, I sometimes harbor the same thoughts. However, there is plenty of white gals doing the same thing. I’ve seen it personally and it’s just too easy for unwed mothers, regardless of color. They’re celebrated in school, allowed to keep their lifestyle, friends, etc.
What is disturbing to me are the percentages of the various ethnic groups- and the lack of these group’s leaders speaking out against the lifestyle. It seems that many, if not most, complain that America isn’t doing enough.
50 years of the Great Society is enough. It ain’t working, regardless of color.

KimmyQueen you are right on the money!! I been a cop for 20 years, and I will be more than happy to tell you race makes no difference when it comes to stupidity. I have met some of the most wonderfull people in the worst of situations. Color doesn’t matter. And I have delt with some of the lowest forms of life on earth and again they come in all colors, and sizes.
What seems to be the difference in all their lives is their parents, if the parents were not their for the kids, the kids don’t have the guidence they need. I got a sister in law who has three kids with three differnt guys, (we swear she is not my wifes real sister) and her parents are some of the best people on earth. Sometimes even the best of parents can’t stop kids from going off the deep end. Plus when the kids are away from home, they are in school…Take a look at the schools. kids can’t read or write but they think nothing of having a child when they are children. What kind of life is the kid going to have under those circumstances?
And Kimmy your right about the clusters in inner city areas, buy lumping people into those circumstances our government has done nothing more than warehouse people and left them with no hope. But you also find kids and parents right smack in the middle of the worst areas that go to major colleges, or into the military academies and they become the best of the best.
I blame all the programs that give handouts instead of a handup. That does more damage to people than you can imagine.

It is true. I believe that humans carry generational curses around. It takes work, faith, wisdom, and other beneficial behaviors and mindset for someone to decide to break the curse of their ancestors. One big factor that helps individuals break free from generational curses is parents that care. However there are those who do not have that support system and still break free from these curses. Overall the answer is in the individual and how he or she will react to the cards dealt to them at any point in time. If a person wants to be a victim even if they are in the best of circumstances they will be a victim. If a person wants to be a victor no matter the circumstances they will be a victor.

And KimmyQueen has a point: there are as many white mamas on those shows as there are black mamas.
There is so much tied into the concept of entitlements paid for having children you can’t afford to raise on your own, no matter the race. It’s removed the shame once associated with being a single mother. It’s reduced the number of babies who were once given up for adoption (and that’s a whole ‘nother rant: adoption has turned into a legal black market and another way for lawyers to make money), and it’s legitimized women and girls who are not willing, ready, or able to become true parents and not just reproductive “baby factories.”
I watched “Grease” once with my stepsons, and they couldn’t understand why it was a big deal that Rizzo was pregnant, and I had to explain that high schools weren’t always filled with pregnant girls.

Back in ’74 in SoCal, there was a 17 year old junior who got married…NOT pregnant, mind you, but the school expelled her (she was a good student) and then her parents sued the district and they let her back in.
Even through the late 70′s, you were not allowed to go to regular school being pregnant…some schools would let you attend until you started to show. The few who did get pregnant during my 4 years of HS either dropped out or went to the alternative school for ‘troubled kids’. Another girl showed so late in the year, by the time the school figured it out, June rolled around and she gave the baby up after the birth in the summer….came back to school as a senior the next Sept.
The biggest difference in the last 40 years has been societal changes to the acceptance of out of wedlock births and the virtual absence of the old fashioned shame that used to exist for an unwed mother.

We are living in the “If it feels good, just do it” times. If it is feels good, it must not be bad, and if it is not bad there is no shame involved when you do it. So having sex when they are not mature enough to handled it nor the consequences is no big deal if there is no shame attached to it. It is so strange to me.

When I was in the 6th grade (1982), I had a classmate whose older sister got pregnant in the 9th grade and dropped out of school to have the baby. I can’t remember if she got married, but I think she must have; the family was Baptist.
I remember thinking at the time that short of an auto accident or serious illness, there was nothing that could so dramatically change a girl’s life…okay, I thought there was nothing that could so RUIN a girl’s life as pregnancy at 14. I’d learned the facts of life from my mom when I was 9, and the older sister’s pregnancy scared the stuffing out of me.
Then my older brother got married and had twins when I was 13, and I spent that first summer after the twins were born over at my brother and sister-in-law’s house, helping out, and so I got to see firsthand what hard work it was. They were pretty poor at that point but to my knowledge never relied on any government handouts (just handouts from parents).
If every girl had that sort of opportunity, and if every girl was assured that any baby that popped out would be HER financial responsibility and hers alone, there would be NO teenaged pregnancies*. I know they had the “Baby Think It Over” program and that’s a good thing, but it doesn’t go far enough.
*But probably no end to babies being dumped, which is a whole ‘nother tragedy.

You are drinking the liberal Kool-Aid. Although I do not believe that abstinence only programs work for all communities (some communities for some reason are more susceptible to certain behaviors), abstinence programs do have a place and in some communities abstinence only programs are actually yielding results (even on the short term which should be re-introduced later in life).
Overall though I do believe that the best thing to do is to teach aspects of human sexuality in an AGE APPROPRIATE matter as the kids grow up. Definetly not teach about mom and pop and papa and papa and mama and mama to five years olds. Abstinence should not be excluded, even if it is not the only method to teach appropriate and responsible sexual behavior.
If anything the bulk of the responsibility for sexual education should be and is in the end on the parents. I can teach about abstinence AND condoms and birth controls, but if the child goes back to his or her one parent home where he or she has half brothers and sisters and another one on the way and the guy in the house is a boyfriend that drinks, chances are very high that unless that child makes his or her choice not to repeat her parent’s mistakes he or she would repeate her/his parent’s mistakes.
Abstinence DOES work for those that want it to work. I know through experience. It is IMPOSSIBLE for 100% success rate. The reason is because we live in a real world with real people and people can be stupid and irresponsible, especially when they are young. So people saying that abstinence just doesn’t work because it fails to have 100% (90%, 80%…) of recipients comply with its tenets are wrong. However it may not work for those that CHOSE to ignore its values, so additional programs or education should be available. Liberal media have been suppressing the truth and since people do not take the time to know the truth they just believe whatever they say.
Recently I heard that more children who were thought abstinence (only or with what is considered normative sex ed nowadays) during their formative years made more money in their lives than those who didn’t receive abstinence education and started having sex earlier in their lives. Sex later in life more time for study and work and money making, sex earlier in life less time for study and work and money making. Interesting.
President Bush’s African initiatives on health issues (like malaria) and AIDS education included abstinence and our money and his initiatives saved over a million african lives and who knows how many more generationally. Abstinence wasn’t the only initiative but it surely did not hurt.
“When US President George Bush announced his PEPFAR program, an aid-based government initiative to help increase medical treatment of AIDS in Africa, the program was met with skepticism as critics wondered whether excessive corruption would prevent Africans from receiving the care they needed. But sure enough, since its pledge in 2003, PEPFAR has saved more than one million lives for the relatively small cost of about $5.4 billion per year; an excellent investment, considering the Disability Adjusted Life Years (DALYs) saved would produce a benefit of about $23 billion each year for Africa’s economy.”

“I had not heard those stats on Bush’s policies in Africa”
I am not surprised. Bob Geldof, whom the media wanted to hear him say something bad about Bush (like Bono did*), actually tried to come to the guy’s defense and he doesn’t necessarily like Bush personally NOR a good deal of Bush’s policies. When he asked Bush why is it that PEOPLE didn’t know what he was doing for Africa, Bush said that he tried, but the media was not interested in anything positive he had to say vis a vis his accomplishments in Africa (and I am sure anyowhere else for that matter). The media released only a couple of photos and had them analyzed and there was tension in the room… but the media didnt ran with these stories: http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2008/feb/28/pressandpublishing.georgebush , “When I arrived with George W Bush in Rwanda the streets assumed a festive air. They like him. Prostitutes came to wave him on for saving them and their children’s lives.” “… It has been happening quietly and out of sight – the unannounced, unheralded good legacy of this administration.” : http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article831812.ece , “It is some story. And I have always wondered why it was never told properly to the American people, who were paying for it.” Indeed : http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1717934,00.html.
* I am still pissed at Bono for being such an a**hole. Bush was GOOD for Africa, Bono’s favorite pet project, hating on Bush was a disgusting unappreciative move.
———————————————————
Obama has not increased aid for Africa (at least not in the books so it seems), however it hasn’t decreased it either (at last count last year). Like the QE and other policies that Bush has started (Patriot Act being a big one), Obama has continued a lot of the Bush Era policies. Even those that he did not like as a senator, yet there are quite a great deal of policies that he actually escalated that he hated on as a senator (the wars, PA, QE, etc.)

A few points.
First, isn’t it interesting that the source is a British, rather than US media outlet, hmmmmm?
Second, women believing lies and being used by men, in her case by the father(s) of her children as well as the father of fascist hopes and dreams, is nothing new, and not isolated to black women.
Hell, if you think about the whole process of childbirth, you realize that if they weren’t just a little naive the human race would die out within a generation!
As it is, she is just one of millions whom, as a friend of mine is fond of saying, “is still waiting for my free shit from Obama!”

“Second, women believing lies and being used by men, in her case by the father(s) of her children as well as the father of fascist hopes and dreams, is nothing new, and not isolated to black women.”
Quite niave and insulting point there. Buying into the whole liberal, socialist, children aid society that blames everything on men but nothing on the women. Most of the women living on welfare and their childrens child support with four, five, six, babies from four, five, six baby daddies are actually the perpetrators of the lie. I know one, and her many neighbours living in subsidized housing, collecting welfare and child support who decive men into their victim fantasies that all their previous baby daddies were abusive and the men think they are going to be the knight in shining armour to save them. Then once they have decieved these men into impregnating them they kick the men out or become so abusive that the men have to leave. Then the govt subsidized family court lawyer (alot of whom make their living off just such cases) steps in and slams the men for child support for the next eighteen years while limiting the amount of access they have to the children. These women use children as their sources of income and care very little for these kids.

I saw this on Yahoo News! many days ago and I posted a link to it in this story: http://www.ihatethemedia.com/ohio-restaurant-out-of-business-one-week-after-obama-mentions-it
The source was NBC (Chicago): http://beta.news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/struggling-single-mom-sells-obama-letter-153110485.html.
I agree with your post. It is typical of stupid women and women who are gullible and those come in all colors. The women though have great fault here. They could have come out of this situation AFTER their first mistake. To do the same thing over and over again expecting different results means they are insane. I can undrstand one mistake but again and again I dont have much pity.

Your post was challenging.
“This is exactly why birth control should be available free to all women. Or covered 100% by insurance.”
Birth control should be covered if the ladies (girls’ families) are paying for it and are okay with that service. Birth control should not be subsidized by all american taxpayers unless it goes to a vote. Not what you meant but wanted to make that note. However birth control is freely given to students in schools (condoms).
“Let’s be honest, most kids start having sex in high school…” Nope. Not most. If anything those that do have sex are still in the minority. Those who have sex habitually are probably less in numbers. Most of those do not end up having children nor venereal diseases so that tells me that they have the information as to how to avoid both things. If most high schoolers had sex there would be exorbitant amount of girls pregnant and exorbitant amounts of those with venereal diseases. The schools were you see high numbers are those in poor to middle income neighborhoods where morals and upbringing by parents are seriously lacking.
“…unfortunately for her she wound up pregnant most likely because she couldn’t afford birth control.” Yet she could afford to go to school unless she got lucky and got a free ride. Birth control is not that expensive, especially condoms.
“That doesn’t make her some kind of dirty slut.” I agree. She may just be stupid and gullible. However, it is hard to pity her after it happened once and then it happened again and again. At some point she needs to take responsibility for what happens to her.
“I am a fairly moderate conservative, but the way they portrayed the woman and her children in this article pissed me off, not gonna lie.”
I am pissed off because they are right. More women (no matter the color) should be wiser. If she had been wise in how she handled herself she wouldn’t be in the position of numerous children, no Father in the home where she has to sell something that she prized as a last resort. Where is her family? Doesn’t she have a community of friends and neighbors a church? Something is seriously wrong here. She needs to take responsibility and not rely on government for her needs and the questions are apt… what has she been doing from the moment she graduated until now? Even if she is not workig in the field she graduated what has she been doing?
“It’s easy for men to label a young mother as a whore while they go humping everything they see.” It is. It is life. Men who go humping everything they see don’t mess with me because I let them know in word and deed that I don’t play those games. If ALL women were to do that no woman would get into trouble, but like I said life is life and there are women who are just to unwise.

I honestly believe that any woman that gets pg wants to get pg. This is 2000+, Ya know, you can buy condoms practically anywhere. Fifty to seventy five cents if you get em one at a time. Any sexually active male or female should invest the couple bucks and buy a few to carry around.
In the sixties you had to go to the pharmacy where the condoms were hidden beneath the counter and request them from the 16 year old girl working there. Then go the checkout and pay the 17 year old girl working there. (Thus KQ’s Grease scene) But for the last 30+ years they are everywhere. Where can you go to a men’s (and probably womens) restroom and not find a condom machine? Okay, maybe the Catholic church.
I’ll give em the first one, barely. But people who repeatedly get pg and play the “poor me” card are either liars or totally stupid. Obviously you wanted the kids, don’t make taking care of them my problem.
One more thing, whoinell would want to buy this letter???

Don’t they teach sex-ed anymore? Or do they call it something else these days?
The thing that absolutely gets me is that here we are, what, 40 years after the pill and chicks are still getting preggers, only they are getting younger!
I’ve known friends/co-workers whose kids or relatives have gotten pg at 13 or barely turned 14! My BIL has a daughter that gave birth 3 months after she turned 15.
After all this time and all these forms of birth control and yet we still cannot influence self-control.

She wanted to have sex. People who want to do something do not want to listen to the reasons why they shouldn’t do it. However they open their ears to those that tell them that they should. It happens. Everyone makes mistakes and everyone is stupid at some point in time or another. I hope that this doesn’t stunt her maturity. Explain this to me, why do women keep doing the same things (having douchebags that lie to them, immediately have children, and living off of the drip of government social justice) and expecting different results (finding a decent guy, getting married and not immediately having kids, not being dependent on the government, and in decent society)?
I’ve seen this behavior for all my life. I get the first time but after that…continually, WTF?

So… You want me to explain to you why some women are stupid and fall prey to whorey men? or why some women are whorey and manipulate the system?
Uhm… I don’t live that life so I cannot tell you from experience. I can go into a psychological profile, but it will take a long time. Best bet is to speak from a recovering/recovered stupid woman or a recovering/recorved whorey one. One thing that I will say is that living a moral life helps a great deal and many times that life comes from good upbringing from (a) parent(s) that care. Sadly not everyone is that lucky, however all people have the opportunity to gain moral perspective at some point in their lives, some just don’t attain in BEFORE they do what they do to screw up theirs and the lives of others. So in the end at some point everyone needs to be responsible for their actions.
Like you, I know that when a person makes a mistake that changes their lives for ever, they usually learn from it and do not make the mistake again. Some women may just repeat what their parents have done instead of breaking the mold. I guess some women and men escape the trap of the generational issues while others continue in it.

Too many times I have been told to be a good girl, whereas my cousins and brother were high fived if they had a lot of “girlfriends”. The double standard has always angered me, however not to the point of rebelling and becoming a ho’. After all becoming a ho is not beneficial to me at all.

After reading most of the responces , a few thoughts come to mind.
(1)– Train up a child in the way he shall go , and when he is old , he will not depart from it. We have sub-cultures , both black and white , that produce mostly institutionalized failure as a majority of most of its expression. Its the old addage , ” Whatever you tax , you get less of . Whatever you subsidize you get more of. When hard work and real effort are taxed to death to subsidize habitual failure , laziness and in general consistantly bad decisions , WHO IN THE HELL IS SURPRIZED BY THE PRODUCT ? Anyone with a brain isn’t.
I see it over and over and over , the children are almost never much different than the folks thay brought them into the world. I’ve seen great people rise from unbelieveable starts. It really does happen. I wish it happened more. Most of the time , its not like that at all. If anything when I look out at the neighborhoods in our city , it sure as hell doesn’t look like things are getting better. When you learn that good things come from those that work , instead of honest effort , well I guess it can grow on you , and your children and their children . Consider the birds , who go out and look for food , every day because they , with very little brain , understand completely that GOD provides. The god of these type of folks isn’t doing a very good job.
(2)– Lets see , the men in her life lied to her . The man that wrote that letter , lied to her. What have I learned ? What I learned long ago , some people love being lied too. To seek out honest people isn’t high on the thought pattern for many people . To accept a lie , one has to believe it first. I wonder how it is , that people find themselves in their same predictament over and over again . The truth is , I realy don’t wonder at all . “—– when they are old , they will not depart from it.”
I would love for this women , to learn what she needs to learn , so that she and her children can have the life that wisdom could lead them too. Time will tell as there is always , Real Hope .

Other than realizing the trap they are in and do what they can to get out and not repeat her mistakes, yes they will become another statistic. Well the other option is for a responsibile mentor to come into their lives. If their Mother does nothing to to look for a mentor for her children or someone doesn’t appear into their lives again they will become another statistic. It is very sad.

Is Barack Obama impeachable and if so, when ? Jail would be the best way to go and here is why. http://www.constitution.org/writ/quo_warranto.htm

Let’s not forget the people that want to get some Obama money (from his stash): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOZ-Etb0k0Q
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z44noxCQWP8&feature=related entitlements are a big problem. This of course affects generations: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LHpm7lHG2c&feature=related
Let’s not forget Peggy Joseph that is probably still waiting for Obama to pay her gas and her mortgage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P36x8rTb3jI&feature=related
“We are not rich like y’all… but this year we will be, because we have Barack Obama.” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLsNOEt0EX8&feature=related Good luck with that lady.
Thankfully not all Obama zombies are black: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1n_FAFP6Z4&feature=related however she failed to ask Lord Obama for money or mortgage payments perhaps she doesn’t need money from his stash at that point in time.
Now let’s not think that they have no reason for believing this… after all Obama made it clear that was his purpose. His purpose is to spread the wealth around: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VIZjviobDc&feature=related

Maybe you’re talking about a different pawn – I mean person than this one; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P36x8rTb3jI&feature=player_embedded – but the general idea is the same.

The best part of this story? She lives in Indiana. The man she wasted her time campaigning for is threatening to cut off federal funds meant to provide healthcare for low-income Hoosiers (like herself and her children) because Indiana doesn’t want to use those funds to kill babies.
Forcing taxpayers to cover the cost of killing her next baby is more important to Obama than helping her already-born babies.
YES YOU DID!

“I don’t think it’s fair to tell someone they can’t have children because they can’t afford them. I don’t think having children should only be a blessing for the rich who can afford it, but for all women who really want to have children.”
I don’t think it’s fair to tell someone they can’t have a Ferrari because they can’t afford one. I don’t think having a Ferrari should only be a blessing for the rich who can afford them, but for all people who really want to have Ferraris.
Now shut up and get to work so you can afford to buy me my freakin’ Ferrari.

So… she cannot afford her own kids and what happens then? they go hungry? or does she then have to rely on someone else to take care of her kids? Why do I have to pay for what other people want that they didn’t plan ahead to have (saved to have)? That sounds crazy to me. Just because you want something yet you cannot afford it, it doesnt make it okay for me to have to come in and pay for it because you didn’t plan ahead. I wonder if you would be okay if I was the one demanding things from you, that I want and that you have to pay for?

There is no shortage of jobs for surgical techs. There’s something else going on here. Maybe she overburdened herself with too many illegitimate children?

The medical industry is hot. A lot of aging people, so you are right. She couldn’t continue prhaps because she lacks the community and familial help to take care of her kids and/or she lacks the funds to pay someone to come in and take care of her kids. If she had one child and one child alone I am sure she could have continued just fine.

A daddy’s perspective: my wife and i have three kids.. 8, 6, and almost 4
If I, gods forbid, left her and just vanished.. without support. I shudder to think of how bad it would be for them
I’d never do this, of course. I don’t know how she’s supposed to plan for this. It’d be easier if I just died (life insurance)..
Her mom is dead. Her dad and brother can’t take care of them. She isn’t going to quickly get any kind of decent paying job, especially in this economy

Perhaps not decent paying, but paying nonetheless. The difference between your story and hers is that her situation was avoidable. You cannot avoid true accidents like you one day deciding that you no longer want to do the family thing after years of doing the family thing. It seems that the man (men) that she had children with didn’t plan nor did the family thing with her for a consistent time frame.
However yes she has issues and problems and there is no one to take care of her. If she has no neighbors, church community nor is there any community based help that she can go to she is definetly in a bad way. I refuse to believe that they ALL do not exist… but still in a bad way if it is true she has no other group or person to ask help from. However she can still get a job even if temp or part time that does provide something and in addition to the selling of the letter and whatever else that she can do she will be able to balance herself. If anything I would advise her to leave that house and get a smaller place or else an apartment.
So if she had a degree for a good paying position that is not just going to magically dry up, she could do temp or part time on that or another job. A lot of people don’t realize what women can do when things are tight and difficult.

My lady is a traveling nurse. There is no shortage of work for any trained professionals in the medical field. If one hospital, or even every hospital in a particular area, isn’t hiring, move. There are plenty of facilities begging for trained personnel. Again, Olivia is a fool. Or just thinks we are fools.

For nursing, that’s true but for other hospital jobs, no so much. I have been fortunate enough to survive 2 lay-offs this past year. And it isn’t just housekeeping, maintainance, and food service jobs being cut. It’s tech jobs (rad techs, surg techs, lab techs and bio techs, etc.) and administraitor positions being eliminated. I’m a Nuclear Medicine Tech and I’ve been looking to see where the jobs are should I happen to be laid-off and the only place I’ve have seen nuc jobs is in, gasp, California. Most of which were PRN. Dear Lord, please let me keep my job. There was one job posted here locally not to lnog ago. 82 Nuc Med Techs applied for that one opening. It’s rough out there even in the medical field.

To be fair it can depends on the state. In TX there are so many job openings for all kinds of medical/hospital/lab technician/etc positions that I have considered changing courses. The point is though that thre is always a job out there, that pays something. I know this to be the truth. However, this lady got her Obama letter and if she plays it right she will get 10K which is nothing to sniff at, so all that i hope is that she is going to be responsible with it.
As per your own situation, I am very sorry about you not being able to get a job in your field at this point in time. Keep at it, keep positive and if you can find anything that pays something i hope it helps until you can get something better.

No, no I do have a job in my field plus 2 other paying jobs (however low that pay may be)… I was just saying IF i get laid-off, as it is a possibility. Sorry, if I wasn’t clear.

oh okay well that is the story of most of the employed. yes it is taxing to think as to what would happen so that is why it is important to have a bit of a six month safety net just in case.

So, if she does get $10,000 for the letter, will that amount be deducted from her welfare check? Or at least added to her income figures so that she won’t qualify for the year?

Those are good questions. Even if she gets 5K, it is like winning the lotto. She will probably have to pay tax on that and since it is considered income of sorts perhaps count against her welfare (if she gets it). I wish someone would do a follow up on her (and the other Obama letters people).

Sorry you’re having problems, DRB. I’m just looking at all the offers coming in from all over the country to put my lady to work, and assuming that there’s work out there. I do understand that not everyone has their life put together in a way that they can just pack a bag and go wherever they want.
