Rosa Parks took a physical risk by refusing to ride in the back of that bus, but the only thing Obama is risking is a bad photo-op. Obama isn’t honoring Rosa Park’s accomplishments because anything Obama says or does is, first and foremost, about Obama. He recently “honored” the late Neil Armstrong with an picture of himself, he probably could care less about Armstrong and his accomplishments. The man is the ultimate narcissist…a narcissistic sociopath.

It is a pity, I submit, that so few know the story of Claudette Colvin who, at the age of 15, refused to move to the back of the bus and give up her seat to a white person, and was arrested, nine months before Rosa Parks (who was already in the “colored” section) refused to surrender her seat.

Undaunted, a year later she dared to challenge segregation again as a key plaintiff in Browder v. I actually knew this.

The Little Rock Nine were a group of African-American students enrolled in Little Rock Central High School in 1957.
(this is actually more immediate to me for the reason that my mother was in the class of ’58, and a WHOLE lot closer geographically to where I grew up. Also, they were guarded by the Screamin’ Eagles. I mean, srsly, how much more awesome can ya get?)

This picture is soo symbolic of Barry’s standing with normal people , both black and white .

On a side note , I believe he looks troubled by the knowledge that he might not get a Nobel Peace prize in under 12 days from entering office , breaking his old record .

I saw Living Colour open for the Rolling Stones at Cardinal Stadium in Louisville in 1989. They were so painfully loud that my brother and I went under the stands about midway through their set. Their song “Cult of Personality” is good but I like another one they did, “Glamour Boys”, even more.
