Obama thinks siccing the IRS on people is funny. LOL!

by editor on May 20, 2009

President Obama’s been making the commencement rounds lately.

Notre Dame gave him an honorary degree and nearly added him to the Holy Trinity just for showing up. Arizona State University asked him to speak but skipped the degree, citing his lack of actual accomplishment other than getting elected.

So the president decided to have a little fun with the ASU mini-controversy. The big punch line is at the 3:10 mark in his speech: “President Crowe and the regents will soon learn about being audited by the IRS.”

Cue laughter. Ha ha. Hoo boy. What a kidder. The only way this line could’ve been any more inappropriate is if had been uttered by Treasury Secretary and “TurboTax” expert Timothy Geithner. As a commenter at TaxProf blog wryly noted, “Nice university you have here; it’d be a shame if anything happened to it.”

Note that if an IRS employee had made such a joke, it would be grounds for firing. But then, so would not paying taxes.

He doesn’t think he’s above the law.

He knows it!

Lucky for ASU it is in Maricopa County – Sheriff Arpaio there will arrest and imprison IRS agents that try to Use the audit to intimidate. I don’t think the regents need to worry.

Seemed over the weekend, the people were more annoyed than pleased that Nobama showed up. The rank and file are not in love with this man.
