“There’s a lot of stuff we wouldn’t have to clean up if the city provided basic human rights, like a Port-A-Potty,” said OWSer Gene Wagner. “If you would’ve given us a Port-A-Potty 30 days ago, we would’ve maintained it ourselves.” Sure, maybe we can bring you some pizza and beer to sustain you while you’re blocking the effing steets and making our lives hell. Anything else we can do for you? Can we give you a ride somewhere?

Amazing, these hippies/anarchists/socialist/democrats/communists/addicts/thieves/on-the-lam crooks plan this occupation and can’t figure out sanitation. After day 2 these morons must have know where this was going as far as sanitation problems were concerned and still did nothing. Here’s an idea, fence them off and let dysentary sort them out. The survivors will show they are strong enough for work so give them the jobs they want and put them to work issuing food stamps in the inner cities. At night. On the sidewalk.

The unions offered tem anything they needed. Why didn’t they ask for portapotties? And they no more would have maintained them than I would join their protest. They don’t have the equipment or the knowhow.

They can’t maintain people from crapping on police cars.

They have rights to portocrappers? Funny. Then why do the companies that rent and maintain those things charge for them? They’re not cheap. Besides, if they city had paid for the several dozens of them they’d have required, how many do you suppose would have been dumped, burned or occupied by squatters claiming them as their residence by now? Shelter and food must also be a basic human right. Running water and dental care, too! Send in the tanks.

Wonderful, Port-A-Potty has now been elevated to a basic human right, along with food, shelter, rain-proof clothing, free college and an adequate income. Every day a new human right is discovered and we must provide it free of charge to the entitled class. Someone alert Mayor Bloomberg about his failure to provide OWS with the basics.

These dirtbags don’t clean themselves-how are they going to manage a few hundred port-a-potties? These hippies need clues-and beat-downs. Once they start getting their hair brushed with NYPD batons, they will go away. That needs to happen right about now though. Come on bloomberg-be a man for 1 time in your life!

This is one of those times I feel sorry for the unionized, allegedly overpaid, allegedly undereducated, allegedly spoiled, public works employees. Yuck.

I don’t…they are there by choice.

agreed.. a city the scale and density of NYC needs public works. Some things the free market simply will not do.. I recall seeing pics of 19th century sanitation brigades scrubbing and sweeping the filth from the streets, and the health of its denizens mightily improved

Now i am wondering if the occupiers attempted to get porta-potties in there or not.. Did they call some companies and end up being refused, or did it occur to no one?

I’m thinking that the porta-potty companies are mostly incorporated, and the 99ers wouldn’t want to patronize any corporations, would they? No, the city should provide for the “rights” of the 99ers.

They say they would maintain them themselves? Which one of them owns a vacuum truck, knows how to use it, and has the necessary permits to dump it at an approved site?

yeah those are serious operations

we used to see the porta-potty dude doing that work pretty regularly in A.I.T., while we were out policing trash in the parking lot.. Used to wonder what that life was like. He got them damn clean though… power hose looked like it could tear off flesh. A small win in life is being first in the fresh porta-potty

Only the morons oppose all corporations.. Many of them are just focused on the big investment banks. I have to wonder if some of them called a porta-potty company and were told they couldn’t actually set anything up in the city park

Actually Alien, it’s a private park not a city park. So the porta-potty companies would have only done it with the owner’s permission, I presume.

Yeah you’re right, i saw something later about a Canadian company being associated with the park.. or some mining interest in the Great White North, and some occupiers were trying to make hay out of that

You have access to “basic human rights” in your home. If you don’t have a home, perhaps you should be re-evaluating your decisions in life.

(I don’t mean that to sound harsh toward the honestly homeless. These people are anything but.)

I don’t recall the TEA Parties whining about such things. Could it be they were more organized/sane/responsible/grown-up?

Well, depends.

;-) Sorry, couldn’t let it pass. . . opps!

There really is no similarity, whatsoever between the TEA party and this FLEA party, none.

That pretty much sums up the mentality of many on the political left. It’s their movement, they organized it, but they expect the government to take care of them. Of course they can’t take responsibility for themselves and make sure that they have sanitation issues taken care of ahead of time. What did they think, that they could literally occupy a public park indefinitely and turn it into a giant protest commune and expect the government and the rest of the community to support their needs?

Actually did this once, Guy went into a porta potty, we duct taped it shut..Now if we set them out like mouse traps, and waited till these mental midgets went to use them, duct taped them shut, call in the guys who haul the porta potties away, Obama supporters would disappear slowly..and no one would every know….I like it.

Ah question:

Did Tea Party assemblies come with their own porta-potties?
If they did they did make sure to clean up after themselves in that score and every other score?
If they did then why couldn’t these people do the same? I mean don’t thy have Soros money and aren’t they getting paid?

I normally just laugh at idiots like these, but this crap has gone on for too long now! I wish I had a month to do nothing but crap on police cars, inhale bong hits, and sing campfire songs. Unfortunately I have a family to support and work my @$$ off to do so. EFF all of these idiots!

Don’t worry, Jay. Winter’s coming and they’ll be sitting there waiting for Global Warming (TM) to keep the warm. I’ve been meaning to check the good ol’ Farmers’ Almanac to see what kind of winter is coming up for the eastern seaboard.
