Politically potent Hollywood escapes heavy scrutiny in wake of shooting. Perhaps the NRA should quit fighting and do what Hollywood does. Just give big checks to all the Democrats and watch them suddenly turn pro-gun or at least look the other way.

I don’t agree with everything in the press conference, especially about federal cops in every school, who knows what they would do to the kids..(Think TSA) But I do agree that Hollyweird should be squarely in everyone’s sights… They pump out violence and they say, Hey it’s not our fault”…some of the movies are nothing more than terrorist training films. And I had to look up Kindergarten Killers, the one line video game…That is some real sick shit. So you get kids shooting and killing for eight hours a day on a video game, no wonder they don’t know right from wrong, and it ain’t just the games and movies, it’s the parents using both video games and movies as babysitters for the kids while they are off in the backyard getting drunk and smoking a little weed with their friends…..But liberals will look the other way and say it is those evil clingers with their guns.

The other big issue is mental patients. In the not to long ago past, if you were nuttier than a fruitcake, you would be in an institution getting medication and treatment, nowadays places like state and county mental health facilities give these nut cases a couple pills and kick them out the door, while liberals want everyone to get a group hug and then “mainstream” the insane. Some people can not be mainstreamed, they have some serious issues like this Lanza kid.

Like I have said before I don’t worry about normal folks with guns, I worry about either nut cases or thugs who have guns. And limiting magazine size is nothing more than a liberal attempt (Like always) to pass some feel good, I did something bullshit. Deal with the mental health issues in this country and stop letting the insane out to raise hell and hurt people. Instead of funding that outhouse basement called the United nations, spend that on helping or institutionalizing the mentally ill that can not be allowed to walk among us…

And finally, you notice that the majority of these mass murderers are liberal or have liberal parents? And the media always tries to blame the conservatives when they should start looking at their own damn folks.

Not so Silent,

Having armed officers in the schools isnt that a bad of an idea if it is done just like the sky marshall. You know they are there, just not which ones. LaPierre didnt go far enough. He should have suggested that every facility member be trained in how to use a firearm.

As for the leftywood and the dim wits, they are both miserable scum and hypocrites. One pimps violence and the other gladly accepts their money and praise. Just check out the latest Tarantino movie. All through it is the word “nigger” and not a single word of protest from those who claim that republicans and conservatives are racist.

It is time to ban weapons free zones, they are nothing more than an attraction for the nut jobs. Those wishing to cause harm will gravitate toward them all the time. The reason is simple, they feel they are less likely to be challenged and confronted by someone who is armed. I treat my weapon like my Visa, I never leave home with out it. Just to be clear, not only do I have my service weapon with me, but there is always backup in many forms and I can and will use each of them to the utter most of my abilities to protect.

As for traumatizing the children, most children are taught that an officer is their to protect them and to help keep them safe. You do have some that see an officer as the evil person who is solely bent on keeping them down and oppressing them. You let one of them suddenly need our help and or assistance and then we hear why did it take you so long to get here.

I leave you with this question. Is it better for a child to see and officer in or out of uniform in a school or the gurneys, ambulances, special response teams and their dead, dying or wounded class mates?

I worked with a School district police department and they are very good at what they do and overworked like most departments, 22 officers for about 55 schools, and they work 27/4/365 and that leaves them with the bare minimum to cover the district. My point about the NRA statement is NOT to have federal Government control it or it will end up being a joke like TSA. You end up with people who want to harm children in the very position of protecting these same kids… I believe it has to be done at the local level without Obamanistic control.

Your are 100 percent right about gun free zones, Like an advertisement to shoot here. I like the Sky Marshall angle except in schools you have the same kids everyday and they will figure it out quickly and there may be one that passes along that info unknowingly to some nut job.

But you could have them undercover, maybe at one school the janitor, at another one the guy or gal in charge of attendance etc etc. not even the school employees know, but advise that the schools have armed security. There role is to actually do work for the district and respond to incidence like this. Their days on vary so some idiot who wants to do harm at a school will never know who is armed at which school at what time.

As for the firearms training, I would be afraid of some of these teachers carrying a gun, their unions would rally against it and honestly, some of the ones I have seen should not even be teachers, giving them a gun could cause more problems that it would prevent.

In Kalifornia we seem to have a large number of teachers who like sleeping with under age students, (imagine if they had a gun?) one of them started a couple websites from the school she was working in…you’ll love this…slutty teachers.com and teacher titties.com.(she is going through arbitration trying to get her job back)..Not the person I want wandering around with a gun. add in the ones who are Obama boot lickers and anti-gun and that does not leave many who could even qualify. Anyone who did should have to go thru a psychological exam and a polygraph and background check like cops do, and just as stringent, and the unions would never allow it.

Like you I always carry concealed with a backup on and off duty, never needed it yet but if the time does come I will use them.

I have been on a lot of the school grounds around here, weapons show up every once in a while and when I worked in Stockton we would respond with the school district police to assist them. All it takes is one officer with a gun to stop the violence. And in almost every shooting I have seen over the years that was like this school shooting, the shooter ends it when the cops show up. That goes back 20 years to the Cleveland school shooting in Stockton where a guy by the name of Purdy brought an AK-47 to the school to shoot Asian kids because he had some kind of hatred for them. He took his own life when he heard the cops coming.

I don’t have all the answers, but I still think the NRA was wrong by suggesting firefighters and others who carry concealed to guard the schools. You need a lot of training and practice in stress conditions to get to the point where you are going to react quickly. You know that as well as I do, and it takes on average about five years for any rookie to become a decent street cop, we use to refer to them as “Redpeckers” till they had five years on, so think of someone who is not even trained as a cop to guard a school, I would be afraid they would react the wrong way or not react at all.

All good points about the teachers and unions. I like the idea of the different assigned areas and people.

Logical and rational people can find logical and rational means in which to deal with these issues.

As for the teachers sleeping with their students, it is a sign of society and the times.

For once “Dear Leader” our Blamer in Chief should start blaming the right people for a change, but we all know that’s not going to happen.

One of my favorite moments of the 90s was when the defunct magazine “Spy” actually published an article which exposed anti-gun movie stars who were also starring in movies where guns were used as an action element to help bring in the crowds and subsequent bottom line. Heh.

I really don’t think the entertainment indusry is to blame. They usually just reflect society. Today’s media coverage on the other hand, seems to be far more potent then movies & music. Those tend to be escapes, news covers & spins the events of the day. It’s getting harder to watch everyday, with just how sh!tty it’s becoming.

I would tend to agree with you about Hollyweird, but they keep making movies with more gore and excessive killings than even real life produces. It’s a fine line, but I think they deliberately try to cross it every chance they get.

Tarantino in particular seems to go the extra step. I undeerstand that a cop movie, for instance may have some shooting, a death or two, as part of the story line. Maybe even as the initial trigger for the story. But Tarantino has more unncessary violence that ANYONE else in Hollyweird, along with his excessive gore, slow motion attention to blood and brains flying from a wounded person. etc. IMHO that is gratuitous violence, and it frankly makes me wonder a litle about him, and why his fascination with violence and gore.

Exactly. Now they not only report the shootings, DUI car crashes and local gang activity, but as part of the local news programing, they dig up stories from other cities. counties and states, with teaser commercials that make them sound local. And these types of stories are always the lead story, not brief mentions at the end of the news. We have never grown past the “if it bleeds, it leads” style of journalism/
