LSD in the drinking water. That’s the only reasonable explanation for the reaction of the Woman’s Media Center to Tim and Pam Tebow’s Super Bowl commercial.
The Associated Press reports the lunacy:
The Women’s Media Center, which had objected to Focus on the Family advertising in the Super Bowl, said it was expecting a “benign” ad but not the humor. But the group’s president, Jehmu Greene, said the tackle showed an undercurrent of violence against women.
“I think they’re attempting to use humor as another tactic of hiding their message and fooling the American people,” she said.
We’ve watched the commercial about a dozen times trying to find some of that violence. We even went through it frame-by-frame thinking that maybe they had hidden some of that subliminal advertising stuff in the commercial. We’re sad to report that we were unable to find any violence against women noted by the Women’s Media Center.
Of course, were not highly-trained observers like the folks at the Women’s Media Center.
But we still think Pam Tebow’s kind of hot.

As I point out on my own blog, getting tackled by your son is something the mother of boys – as I am – have come to expect. And why do our sons tackle us, climb all over us, grab us in bear hugs, and generally make as much of innocent body contact as possible? Because they love us. Boys are very tactile, they are most expressive through touch and not “sharing feelings.” They are like puppy dogs. And the mother who realizes this knows how to control it and keep the roughhousing within appropriate limits.
This ad shows that. The comic part is that she is tackled by a grown NFL player – but she immediately pops up and admonishes him good-naturedly. And let’s him know – “you’re not as tough as I am.” Because every boy knows, you don’t mess with Mom.

Funny, you never hear a peep out of them when there are commercials with scantily-clad women actually SERVING men food at places like Hooters, or being ditched by some guy for a bottle of his favorite beer…
Exactly…. Exactly. No peep either about the old lady being jumped on by young men either in another commercial. Which was funny. The problem with THIS commercial is that it reminds CERTAIN women that some women are not like them and it hurts. Certain women do not want to be reminded that there is indeed another choice and that some women actually enjoy the idea of being Mothers as a responsibility and priviledge not a punishment.
The fact that these morons have an inkling of violence towards women from that commercial is gay. (that is a joke that lefties will think is an attack on homosexuals-it is meant to be ironic, for those of you lefties reading)…
There are movies, produced by those very lefties, where that kind of thing happens, and one ad in the SUPERBOWL advertising lineup, where someone tackled Betty White a lot harder than that-but there are no groans from these idiot “womens’” groups about that one!
They will scratch and claw at anything that they can pull from something so benign as that ad. That was actually a lot more tasteful than I expected it to be-and by not talking about abortion at all, they made it so that anyone who was curious could go to the website and learn more, thus making it not at all intrusive to the beliefs of baby-killers who may have been watching. Fact is, it was a nice commercial. You could really tell how much she loves her son. I think at the end of the day-the baby-killers are angry that there was another highly attractive conservative on television. Each time a beautiful conservative woman is on television, it further underscores just how terribly ugly most “progressive” women are-and that must hurt the left more than we can imagine.
Adding a little humor also made it more of an approachable subject for young women who are being bombarded by PP and the rest of the psychotic left-wing baby-killers who just want the ability to kill babies written into the constitution. That is the long and short-the right to murder in indiscriminant fashion is all the left really wants. Nothing more, nothing less. They spit on troops coming home from war for being “baby-killers” and then they drive themselves over to the local abortion clinic and kill babies. I don’t think they even realize the irony in their very existence!

Does this mean that the Snickers superbowl commercial that included tackling elderly people is glorifying violence against the aged? Where is the AARP when they need it?!
I’m sure the stupidity of the Women’s Media Center’s incongruent tripe is not lost on anyone except those of like mind. How can anyone that professes the practice of “choice” ignore the merit of this commercial? Only those who believe “choice” is not really “choice” but rather a mandate for abortion could possibly manufacture whacked-out accusations of violence against women based upon the content of this commercial.
Then again, this may not be stupidity. We may be witnessing low-estrogen induced dementia on an organization-wide scale.
By the womens’ media center’s logic, the Betty White/Snicker’s ad was a lot more violent against women in general, and older women in particular.
The pro-choice groups knew this was going to be played during the game, so they could have ponied up a couple of million, and they could have put on a commercial with their views. I don’t see anything wrong with this ad and I don’t understand their grievances with it, but then they get hysterical at just the mention of someone who doesn’t see things their way.
As opposed to the violence shown to a nearly delivered baby when its head is crushed and its brains are sucked out?

Yeah and The Bestest President Ever thinks that’s okey dokey so that girls/women won’t be “punished with a baby”. The Culture of Death indeed, when people think it’s OK for partial birth abortions on a viable BABY.
And yet, the left goes absolutely ape-sh*t when someone wants to CHOOSE life over DEATH and wants to shut free speech down by attaching all sorts of names to those who are pro-life. Somehow they just don’t get it that it’s a CHOICE.
Just like the the feminists are sooooo disappointed that there’s a younger generation of women who are giving up their careers to CHOOSE to stay home. How dare they? They actually feel betrayed and think all their hard work in liberating women has gone down the drain. They forget that the original intent was so that women could have a voice as well as a choice…they just don’t like it that some women want to be a stay at home mom.
Remember Hilary’s comment? “I suppose I could have stayed home and baked cookies and had teas, but what I decided to do was to fulfill my profession which I entered before my husband was in public life.”
The tackle makes me laugh every single time. These “women” are freaks of nature. They are the ones that are abnormal and normal true women like Ms. Tebow makes them realize their shortcomings even if they don’t want to admit them.
Pathetic. That is the only word that comes to mind. I, myself was completely floored when the Doritos commercial showed some male caveman like guy spitting out half-eaten Doritos out of his anti feminist mouth ,as if his obvious fear of homosexuals made him choke on the thought of people starving because the polar bears are dying from man made global warming, which is caused by right wing gun nuts who, while still clinging to their bibles, won’t give terrorist, American civil rights, because they refuse to open the border of Mexico, in their obvious fear and hatred of illegals..Ugh… undocumented workers! If only we held out our ‘open’ hands will there be peace! (And you get more Doritos too)
