Rand Paul: We Should Let Dems Raise Taxes And Then Let Them Own It: We don’t know if he is serious or not but we agree with the sentiment that there should be no compromise. First off it will be devastating for the economy and most especially the middle class people that have seen their cost of living explode over the last four years. Second there is never any compromise. This time will be like all the others. They’ll take all the money coming in from these taxes, before the taxes themselves drop revenue by tanking the economy even further, and with it they’ll buy more votes and crony favors without ever having cut penny one.

Yes. Take a page out of our feckless leader’s senatorial book and vote “present,” with each voter stating aloud for the Congressional Record that the outcome/onus, for good or ill, will sit squarely on BO’s narrow shoulders.

Here’s what’s gonna happen if taxes are raised:

People have less money to spend and overall growth slows. Businesses cut jobs and unemployment rises. This prompts an automatic hike in spending for unemployment programs. With lower tax revenue due to stagnant growth and more spending any gains made by raising taxes will be more than offset.

Senator Paul is right, IMO. Let BHO own the whole mess. This isn’t even a negotiation. The President simply wants higher tax rates for the over $250K set and the removal of the debt ceiling. He has Constitutional authority for neither despite idiotic Dems trying to invoke the 14th Amendment, which does not apply to the Executive Branch.

That is good in theory, but I see it being blamed on the Republicans, no matter what Obama does.

I don’t think it matters. If BHO gets his way he becomes a full blown dictator. I say do it and make every worker pay more. Fair share, right? Bottom line to me is rein in spending. Look at our own state, liberals hate Rick Scott but he has reduced our state debt by two-billion dollars in two years. You can be effective and bashed.

Boehner needs to hold a press conference, with all the Republicans in Congress there, publicize it. Hammer it. They have a pulpit. Everyone sign a contract. Hmmm, reminds me of Newt. Use every allotted minute on the floor describing exactly what will happen if the Dems have their way, then let them have it.

It’ll be a hell of a mess to clean up, but it will make a point.

You can be effective and bashed.

If you’re a white conservative, but you can be ineffective and not bashed if you’re a black leftist.

That’s true. Larry Kudlow wrote that every GOP member should just vote present and let these maniacs on the left have it. Let’s see if any Democratic House or Senate members defect in order to hold their own seats.

Like the brown nosed bootlickers in the media are going to allow “Dear Leader’s golden idol to be tarnished. The only other option is to pull the same stunt the Commiecrats pulled in Madison, leave the state before the vote.

I agree. If the “Bush Tax Cuts” are not extended, the Democommies and their suckass media will blame the Repubs. If Obama gets what he wants, the obvious higher unemployment, credit downgrade, inflation, etc will be blamed on the Repubs, especially if just one votes for it, but still will be blamed even if even if they all vote no.
They need to carefully position themselves so they can shove it back in the media’s face when this all goes to hell.
The Commies know damn well this is all going turn to sh*t and already have worked out with their media how they will blame the Repubs and they are already laughing about it.

Senator Paul has a point. Let em go for it all. Then it will be all of the dim wits and they can not back off it. Even reid knows that if he allows the POS from der leader to come to the Senate floor he can not muster enough dim wit votes for it to pass.

I say let us go off the cliff, then listen to how all of the whiners complain that all of the automatic cuts are hurting. At least the pain will be a fair share for all. Then the takers can finally start paying their share as well. If you are able bodied no work, no eat, no cable TV, no internet, no Xbox, no cell phone and the list can keep right on going on.

I agree, all the Rs should just smile sweetly, “Whatever you like, sir,” vote yes, and get the “Told ya so”s ready for 2014.

I wouldn’t recommend voting yes. This needs to be COMPLETELY owned by the Dems.
