We’ll miss Senator Robert Byrd. The former grand kleagle of the Ku Klux Klan made it so easy to point out Democrat racial hypocrisy by saying things like, “I’ve seen a lot of white niggers, if you want to use that word…”
Funny thing is, we didn’t see that mentioned in any of the West Virginia senator’s obituaries.

Will they bury him in his Klan outfit?

What always astounds me is the ignorance of the democratic rank and file about the actual record of both parties regarding slavery and people’s rights.
IHTM – how ’bout putting up the picture of Byrd in his KKK uniform? Just the picture and a paragraph about racist senator dying without naming anyone. Might bait some of the clowns on here to write some funny stuff.

I dont understand how he stayed in office for so long. It is despicable, there should be term limits for everyone in office.

I’ll tell you how he stayed in office for so long, two words: Yellow Dogs. Unlike your Blue Dog Democrat (who is a milder form of conservative) and your socialist/communist/uber-liberal Dumdocrats, the Yellow Dog will only vote for Dumocrats exclusively (regardless of whether or not their views are similar) because the Republican party is the party of Lincoln, and, they’ll be damned if they ever vote Republican. Most Yellow Dogs don’t even know why they vote Dumbocrat… they just do… because Daddy voted Dumbocrat, and Grand-daddy voted Dumbocrat, and great Grand-daddy voted Dumbocrat… ad infinitum.

It makes sense. Voting democrat on a state with “certain” history just because it is tradition makes sense.

You can take that to the bank Kimmy. I have lived in Alabama most of my life and know scads of people who are just as conservative as Rush Limbaugh, yet they can’t seem to wrap their minds around voting anything other than Dumbocrat because it’s always been the family tradition. I ask them if they believe the politicians they are supporting reflect the path they want our nation on, and they say, “No!”
I then ask them why they didn’t vote for a candidate that has a platform that mirrors their views and they respond, “I can’t voting for no Republican! My Grand-daddy would role over in his grave!”
My response to that is, “Well don’t you think if Grand-daddy was alive he’d be appalled at whats happening to America?”
Their response…, “Yes.”
“THEN WHY DO YOU KEEP VOTING IN DUMBOCRATS?!?!?”
“B… b… b… because that’s what we’ve always done…???…”
“WAKE UP, IDIOT!!!”

There are innumerable schools, roads, etc. in West Virginia named after him. I’m surprised that he did not get the state renamed in his honor.

Give them time DM, just give them time. My guess is Byrd will be canonized by the folks in WV before they plant him.
