Robert Gibbs doesn’t know if Obama was born in the United States

by editor on June 14, 2010

World Net Daily’s Lester Kinsolving asked Robert Gibbs a question about President Obama’s Social Security number (In case you haven’t kept up with that part of the Obama mystery, your social security number indicates you were born in. The number says the President was born in Connecticut, but neither Obama nor his mother ever suggested that they lived in that state).

Instead of answering the question that was asked, Gibbs attempted to deflect it by bringing up the issue of Obama’s birth certificate.

It’s a very strange exchange. Very strange, indeed.

Darnell, Darnell, Darnell. The Tea Party is not the same as the Birthers; the Birthers are not the Tea Party. Is there crossover? Yeah. But no worse than the crossover between the 9/11 Truthers and Obama supporters. Every kid I know who was a starry-eyed BO campaigner was also a 9/11 Truther. But I don’t confuse Obama (or Pelosi, or any of the Dems) with the Truthers.

We all have to keep things straight, and that involves honest discussion.

I don’t think you’re all that interested in anything but sniping, however.

36 percent of Republicans believe Obama was not born in the United States, 22 percent are not sure, 42 percent think he is a natural citizen. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/02/02/large-portion-of-gop-thin_n_445951.html

The tea party is going down and the new polls show it. Give me a break. The tea party is an anti Obama movement. If they we’re legit where the hell we’re they when Bush started two wars he didn’t pay for, Health care program he didn’t pay for and tripling the deficit.

Tea Party will be gone in 2012

The fact that Darnell is using polls from the Huffington post says something in and of itself. It’s as if the libs get a letter every week from the DNC that tells them what talking points to bring up, what to steer clear of, and last but not least, IF YOU DON’T AGREE WITH THE PRESIDENT OR HIS POLICIES, YOU ARE A RACIST.

Darnell knows that repugs and especially tea baggers have there own talking points and they are straight out of the KKK Manual. Yea we have a black POTUS but that was no thanks to anyone on this site. Racism is alive and well on I hate media. FO SHO! Repugs hate polls that tell the truth. You slam the Huff yet you are on this poor excuse of GOP site? Hypocrisy thickens.

Oh and DJ or Douche Bag… The Birther crap was turned down by a conservative leaning Supreme court. The republican Governor who voted for McCain in Hawaii has said they have seen the document. The fact that you question this man legitimacy is in it’s self tribal dog whistle politics and I like to call it racism for short. This is the most ludicris Bull shit in America akin to the Truthers.

Actually there is a black guy in leadership of the RNC and Obama is the leader of the democrat party. Niether is proof of no racism in America. Like it got cured overnight.

Oh I’m sorry I forgot there is no more racism and the Tea Party is for little lambs and Jeebus. http://racistconservatives.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/niggar-sign-tea-party.jpg

Please allow me to translate into English.

“The GOP and the Tea Party have made great strides to distance themselves of the vestiges of the racist Democrats policies of the late 1880′s. God Bless Abraham Lincoln!

American has proudly stood up and rejected racist Democrats, such as Senator Robert Byrd, an admitted member of the Klu Klux Klan, to elect the first African American President. (Bill Clinton was the first Black President). God Bless America!

This site gives me hope for future generation as you reject and ridicule the moronic ravings of lunatics websites, such as MoveOn.org and the Huffington Post and the polling data proves that the American Voter agrees. God Bless ihatethemedia.com!

I salute the fellow commenter’s at this site. Our debate of the serious issues is enlightening and entertaining! Your exposure of the hypocrisy of the mainstream media gives us valuable insight that is as inspirational as the great conservative John F Kennedy said “Ask ask not what your country can do for you — ask what can you do for your country!” God Bless Freedom of the Press

As for the current POTUS, we are confident that he is clearly a plant from the GOP. I mean, “Nobody is this stupid!”. God Bless George “Yes, I miss you!” Bush

And now I am reminded of a song that my mother (my mom, she was a great old gal) sang to me in my crib. “Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world…” God Bless my Mommy

I’m surprised that nobody bothered to point out that Republican does not automatically translate to Tea Party and vice-versa, as darnell seems to think it does. The Tea Party seems to consist of folks from all parties and walks of life. Of course, I didn’t get that information directly from huffington or moveon, so it’s most likely a lie and conservative conspiracy of some kind. Or Bush’s fault.

Darnell, you need to wake up. The Republican Party has been the major opposition to the Leftist Party for quite some time now, but they don’t have the huevos to go up against the Leftists and fight for what is right. A Tea Party member may be registered as a Republican, or maybe as a Democrat that is tired of the Communist leanings that the Democrat party is showing lately, or maybe just a Libertarian like me. Or possibly an Independent that finally saw a party that holds true to their principles. Republican does NOT equal Tea Party, and Tea Party does NOT equal Republican. When you get some of the basics of the argument down, maybe people could discuss things with you, instead of just dismissing you as a fool.

You really don’t understand what the Tea Party actually is, do you? It has no true “founder”, and it isn’t tied together on a national basis in any real way. Defining the entire movement by the supposed opinions of a so called “founder” is in and of itself completely ludicrous. It’s even stupider than trying to define every single Democrat in the country solely on the actions of the loudest amongst them.

For example; I count myself as a Libertarian, and I’m pro choice. If I pay for a national TV ad in which I proclaim that I’m a pro choice Libertarian, does that make every Libertarian in the country pro choice as well? Well, does it, Stupid?

And who said it was “my” movement, other than you? I’ve never been to a Tea Party, myself. Nor do I think of myself as “Tea Partier”.

And you’re still missing the point. A few far-right (or far left) wing nutbags in a crowd don’t represent the entire crowd. What is it about this incredibly simple concept that you find so hard to understand?

Why must you group people together so arbitrarily? Is it because you are a follower of Marx and you know that dividing people is the best means by which to control them? Are you merely working to further the agenda of almost every politician in the country. If so, shame on you. Regardless of our differences of opinion, it should really be us against them, not us divided and being played like fiddles by whichever side of the political spectrum we happen to most agree with.

Open yourself up to some honest debate, Darnell. Don’t be a sad puppet of the political establishment. Otherwise I’ll have to stop thinking of you as “that adorable troll” and start thinking of you as “that sad, lonely, misguided puppet-troll”. This is simply not true about SSN being issued by the state that you were born!

Is is issued by the state, where you applied for it. My Dad was in the USAF and we lived in Germany when I got my SSN and it starts in 215. 215 is Maryland and I have never lived in the state, but it was where they processed the application.

It is mind boggling that this is some great conspiracy. This is a great example of how the morons in this administration can take a nothing issue and turn it into a huge mess simply by not being honest and upfront. Nor knowing the facts.

I also remember some idea, years ago, to start issuing SSNs so that you can’t guess where a person was from based on their number. Didn’t follow it that closely, though.

If I remember correctly, it was 1983/1984 when the IRS said children 2 years & older had to get SSN. By 1987, it was applied for automatically at birth in the hospital. It was required to help prevent identity theft.
So, where the CT thing comes in, go figure. File it with all the other mysteries of Captain Zero.

Wow, I see some poster named Darnell Eubank thinks anything & everything that is critical of Obama is because of race. You are a puke, let me explain something to you, & I’ll type real slow so even you can understand my point.
The whole “birther” thing confuses you libs/progs, but it is so simple. When you go to the store to buy beer & fags, the cashier may ask you for ID. If you don’t produce it, they can deny you from buying them. Same thing goes for people going into a bar, strip club, renting a car or a hotel room, you need to prove you are who you are. You want to get a passport, they will REQUIRE you to turn over your BIRTH CERTIFICATE, & you get it back when they send your new passport to you. I just went through that process in March.

You are right, most of those who don’t like Obama are about colors, but it’s not what you think it is. It’s about the fact that Obama is RED-politically, not about his skin color. Just so you know, I can’t stand either side of his family, the Dunham side, you know the white side of his family, his mother was just as much of a marxist as his old man was. Something about my family backround, the Russian part that fled during the Bolshevik revolution that makes me hate marxists & marxism no matter who they are, what color they are, or what part of the world it comes from. Yelling racism means nothing to me, I’ve never had issues involving race, & since I have played sports ALL MY LIFE, I’ve always been around people of all races, & gotten along with most of those I have played with & against. I am proud of that, & since I am about freedom, liberty, inclusion, merit, & common interests, you sir, can pound sand.

Because you president slumped off in shame after he ruined the country you idiots decide fair is fair and you go on the attack from day one. Rush saying he hopes the president fails. That was two weeks after the inauguration. The Tea Party was no where to be found during the Bush presidency when he racked up a trillion in debt after CLINTON gave him a surplus.

Get yourself some help. Your ranting belies your overindulgence in kool aid that seems to have altered your ability to reason and engage in rhetorical argument. The name calling tells me your social development is stalled at an early elementary level along with your “persuasive” skills.

You might want to go back to the sites you fine refreshingly well informed and detail the alleged abuse you endured here while we go on our merry way embracing and espousing those values you find so reprehensible. You have given it your best effort – time to retreat.

Please look up the definition of hyperbole, so that when you use it, you are more aware of what it actually means and are able to use it in the correct context that will not make you look like some douchebag trying to use big words to hide the fact that he hasn’t an actual clue what in hell he’s talking about.

Example: Darnell is the most annoying troll in the entire history of the Internet!

Don’t get a big head, Darnell… that last sentence was merely hyperbole.

Let correct you darnell, Bush43 pissed off more then a few conservatives by not cutting back on spending, he could have vetoed a bill or 2, but did’nt. He also sucked on border security, the case involving agent’s Ramos & Compean should never have gone as far as it did.

As for us “GOP retards” being out hating him since day 1, you are wrong. We conservatives have been hating him since he was Senator Obama, who had no record from his days in Springfield because he always voted “present”. Can’t do that in The Oval Office, but since he has never run a damn thing in his life, his performance does’nt suprise me. Not to mention all of the people he was taught by, those who influenced & shaped his beliefs, all of which made the end product that is Obama. We are seeing the results of his lack of everything & anything that would make him a proper President & a Commander in Chief.

We conservatives see this, & this is why El-Rushbo said “I hope he fails”. What Rush meant was this, he wanted Obama to fail in installing his agenda for America because he knows that liberalism/socialism/progressivism has failed everywhere it’s been tried, so why should America be subjected to a system that we know does’nt work? Rush was a patriot to say what he did because unlike Obama & those who shaped him, he cares about America. Obama is like most libs/progs in America, he is embarassed by how great America is on the world stage, & he feels it is time to lower America down with the rest of the world. He does’nt give a shit about the greatest nation that has ever existed on the planet, & more people are waking up to that fact every day.

This is part of the reason we installed the Thumbs Up/Down rating system. All it takes is a net three Thumbs Down votes to hide a comment. If a troll’s comments continue to be hid quickly (and not commented upon), they will soon tire and go away.

I I I I I I I I …. he is an idiot. Now he never truly answered the social security question did he?I have a social security number from I think Florida. I have never lived there etc however I am naturalized so it was kind of assigned to me and overall that is the state that I went to get all naturalization processes done even though I never lived there per se. It was a complicated and timely set of circumstances so if he has a CT social and he never lived there then I have to say that he is naturalized as well then…

I mean what else can I possibly think?

Now if he is naturalized is it legal for him to Prez? I thought only those born US could be Presidents? Am I wrong?

Unless for some reason their parents forgot to apply for social when he was born in Hawaii and the Mother or someone remembered and applied for it and it came up on CT? Did he wait until he was older? why? and why in CT?

Hmmm…. the Constitution say:

No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

The questions that continue to come up are 1) was BO born on U.S. soil (military bases and embassies count as U.S. soil) or, if not, 2) does it even matter, if he had at least one parent that was a U.S. citizen when he was born. We know, for sure, his dad was a British subject being that Kenya, at the time, was a British colony.

Those questions are, obviously, still being debated.

KimmyQueen June 15, 2010 at 12:59 pm

He is an American citizen due to his Mother for sure. I don’t necessarily doubt that he is an American citizen due to that reason, but the question is why allow the controversy to continue? Did his Mother had ANY point stop being an American citizen herself? I mean whats the problem? Why not be transparent as he promised he would be? Why get a social in CT (which can be simply answered)? Is it BECAUSE he was naturalized? and if he was then what happened to the fact that he was born from his American Mother? I mean why can’t he answer. It is so odd.

SCDiver June 15, 2010 at 1:46 pm

Like or Dislike: Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0

Agreed, on all points. My bad for mentioning that the dad was a British subject without also saying I believe his mother was an American. I also believe she was always an American citizen (can’t be sure about duality).
Where I’m fuzzy is on the question you bring up and that’s naturalization. I’m not quite sure because I’m not sure whether the ammendment saying that if they’re not on American soil but one parent is an American they’re still natural got passed or not.
Either way, I’m with you–this could’ve easily been cleared up if everyone were on the level. Unfortunately, as with all things on the left, they’re on the slope.

Lester June 15, 2010 at 7:06 pm

There’s never been any question that his mother was a citizen, but she wasn’t old enough at the time to transfer that citizenship to him if he was born out of the country.

Seriously?! I have never heard that in my entire life. Someone has to be a legal adult to transfer citizenship to a child born out of the country? If that is true, that brings a great deal of issues if she was not of age when she had him.

James it is not hard to imagine that trolls do get some kind of sexual satisfaction by antagonizing others. I have wondered about that myself, because there is really no REASON to antagonize others on a site that is obviously not parallel to one’s opinions. I don’t waste my time on liberal sites. I get no satisfaction in doing it. I don’t visit and if I visit to see some stupidity someone as pointed out to me, I don’t inject myself into the conversation. Why do it? It makes no sense, so it has got to be something that a lib troll is getting out of it and if it is not money then it has got to be a perverted form of sex. Or else he gets no love nor attention from Mother and has no girlfriend that would like to deal with his BS and this is his only way to get the attention that he so desperately seeks. The psychology of a troll… gross.

Somebody should really do a study. Throughout this afternoon’s posting (which I have really, really enjoyed… lots of fun today) I can only come to the same conclusions you do; It’s either for money (really??) or some kind of validation. I don’t know whether to feel happy for Darnell that he has a job in these tough times, or to pity him because he’s had a tough life and needs to seek out any kind of attention he can, even if it’s negative (this means you SHOULD feel the trolls… if they don’t get attention from you, they might do something drastic like, kill themselves or something).

There is a third option… it could be that he/she is just really, really stupid. I don’t like to think that’s it, though. I think I’m just gonna assume that it’s money. The second option is just too sad and makes me kinda depressed.

What I find rather entertaining is that someone who hates this place and is hated at this place SO much has spent ALL DAY as well as the past day or two here. That would be like me spending all day at the HuffingtonPost or something like that. Those people are far too crazy. I don’t like it so I don’t go there. Why can’t this guy be the same?Anyways… I remember seeing an article where this grandmother’s grand daughter, who was born a day after Obama, had a Birth Certificate, an original, that had a number lower than his. I’m going to go find this article… it’s an interesting concept, as a lower number means that the person was born first. Since Obama’s was higher… could it be a fake? Who knows. Honestly, I don’t care if he was born here or not. The fact remains that he sucks as a president.

Edit: Within a minute of writing this, I found it! Here’s my EVIDENCE of reason of possible controversy… and Darnell says nobody here produces facts…
