It’s not something his liberal critics want to talk about, but Rush Limbaugh is a very generous man. He just donated $500,000 to the House Ear Institute in Los Angeles.

The gift was given in memory of Antonio De la Cruz, M.D., who passed away recently as a result of complications from lymphoma.

Dr. De la Cruz and another House Clinic physician diagnosed Limbaugh with auto-immune inner ear disease (AIED) and eventually performed cochlear implant surgery to restore his hearing.

“Dr. De la Cruz literally saved my career and got me my life back with that surgery,” Limbaugh said. “I wouldn’t have been able to continue my career. For a month before I had the implant surgery, I did my show totally deaf.”

This donation, of course, is on top of the hundreds of thousands of dollars the king of talk gives to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society each year.

So in the end, it turns out that Limbaugh may be deaf, but his critics are the ones who refuse to hear the truth.

Isn’t it ironic, Dr. De la Cruz died from the same diesease Limbaugh devotes so much of his time and energy fighting. However, all is not as Limbaugh claims; here is what http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rush_Limbaugh has to say about Limbaugh’s supposed “generosity.” When his total income is considered, his charitable contributions amount to a mere drop from his spittoon.
“Limbaugh holds an annual fundraising telethon called the “EIB Cure-a-Thon”[78] for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.[79] In 2006 the EIB Cure-a-Thon conducted its 16th annual telethon, raising $1.7 million;[80] totaling over $15 million since the first cure-a-thon.[81] According to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society annual reports, Limbaugh personally contributed between $100,000 and $499,999, or 0.2% to 1% of his yearly income, from 2000–2005 and 2007,[82] and Limbaugh claims to have contributed around $250,000 in 2003, 2004 and 2005.[83] NewsMax reported Limbaugh donated $250,000 in 2006,[84] but the Society’s 2006 annual report placed him in the $500,000 to $999,999 category.[82] Limbaugh donated $320,000 during the 2007 Cure-a-Thon[85] which the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society reported had raised $3.1 million.[86] On his radio program April 18, 2008, Limbaugh claimed to pledge $400,000 to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society after being challenged by two listeners to increase his initial pledge of $300,000.[87]“

hi,
I think you are doing human trials, at least with children (see the web cordbloodregistry –>> http://www.cordblood.com/regenerative-medicine/hearingloss.asp ).
In this blog http://deafdude1.blogspot.com/2009/08/stem-cells-for-deafness-begins-human.html you can also stay informed on human trials.
greetings!

Tip Top, Wondering what you have done today to help America. Write a bunch of junk on the computer? Get a real life and go do something worth while. Create an opportunity for yourself where you actually matter and make the world better. Slamming Limbaugh’s generous donations is just pathetic.
