Budweiser may be the king of beers, but Chivas Regal is apparently the drink of princes.
What better way to end the week and honor the memory of the Lion of the Senate than to partake of his favorite drink.
Teddy reportedly called Chivas Regal “that life-sustaining liquid” and his favorite drink was Chivas & Soda.
So please join us and do as we’re going to do. Take off work a little early, head for your favorite watering hole, and order yourself a big fistful of Chivas & Soda. Repeat as necessary. Follow that by making a waitress sandwich with one of your closest friends and the nearest cocktail waitresss. Then sit back and watch the sun set.
Ahhhh, life is good when you’re a Kennedy. And death ain’t so bad, either, as long as it hasn’t been forced upon you by ObamaCare.

I had a girlfriend awhile ago who had been a flight attendant. She had dated “Teddy” off and on for several years when she stayed over in D.C. She said that every single time, he was sloshed to the gills. And yes, he was still married.
In my opinion, he wasn’t the “lion” of the Senate; he was just a lyin’ drunken pussy-hound politician like so many others.
This is a much better suggestion than my original plan of strapping my wife into the passenger seat of our car and driving off a bridge.
I love scotch, but Chivas? Probably only when he was drinking with the proletariat. I’m sure in the comfort of his exclusive country club he was drinking a good single malt.
How about some Liberty Gin before we all meet up at the place where there is no darkness?
Treehog – is that the Bootleg brand his daddy sold? I’m not a gin drinker…
Liberty Gin is the less than steller alcohol that Big Brother gave to the proletariat in Orwell’s 1984. “The place where there is no darkness” is another reference. If you’ve never read it, you should. It’s public domain now, so you can read it for free online.
Even though Edward Kennedy was never a hero of mine. I will speak no words to diminish his passing nor the grief and sorrow of those suffering his loss.. RIP
