Segregated public school named after President Obama

by editor on December 12, 2010

A new Dallas school named after President Obama proudly discriminates against girls. Even the name of the school sounds horribly discriminatory based on everything liberals believe in.

The Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy, home of the Michelle Obama Cafeteria & Salad Bar

You can learn the details from the Dallas Independent School District:

Dallas ISD’s newest magnet school-Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy at B.F. Darrell-will open to students in grades six through nine in August 2011. Two years in the planning, the school will offer a small, focused learning environment where young men are prepared for leadership roles in school, the community, and society.

“We’ve experienced the value of single gender education through the Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School, which has consistently been one of Dallas ISD’s top performing schools since opening in 2004,” Superintendent of Schools Michael Hinojosa said. “We have the same expectations for the all-male leadership academy.”

Curriculum

The curriculum at Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy at B.F. Darrell will include pre-AP and AP classes, foreign languages, robotics, accelerated math and science, journalism, writing, and public speaking. The young men will be required to complete a technology-based project and a community service project each year.

The Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy? It’s not only discriminatory, it’s contradictory. Barack Obama has proven that he knows nothing about leadership and very little about being a man.

But the school is unique. The foreign language classes will teach students how to bow in seven different languages. Al Gore will guest lecture about robotics. The accelerated math classes will teach students how to count to infinity or the national debt – whichever comes first. The journalism classes will focus teach the students how to ask slanted questions. And the public speaking classes will feature the nation’s only public school Teleprompter.

Other than that, it’s just like any other public school.

I have a feeling this school will lean toward a certain race as well.

I was thinking the same thing too… however it may also include hispanics as well.. and if it does one has to wonder if they are mostly legal. Not sure about asians. It will be very interesting to see the demographics HOWEVER what if we are wrong and most of the boys are actually caucasian? That would be extremely interesting.

It looks like a prison–these young men will learn valuable skills like making license plates while avoiding bowing and group showers. Taking a cue from the school’s namesake, they will also learn important ratios such as the larger the bravado the harder the fall. Math will cover basics like 2+2 equals whatever you want it to equal. Economics will have special emphasis on the benefits of taxing the wealthy into poverty so you can apply for your next job as a welfare mom. History will include current affairs like those failed Bush policies (the fact that they worked is not covered).
and on and on…

You all are so ignorant and closed minded! No matter who this school may or may not cater to, I think it’s great that there is a place that will be able to offer these young men greater opportunities and a greater vision for who they could become. Not every young boy is afforded the opportunity to live in the best neighborhoods and attend the best schools. Not every young boy is aware that they can learn something more than “making license plates and taking group showers” as the ignorance of ocmadam points out. So kudos to a place that will reach out to these young men to help them think and dream bigger than they ever could before. They have named schools and everything else after every other President we’ve ever had and now, because they want to name a Male Leadership Academy after OUR President whom WE voted into office, here comes the ignorant, immature and just plain stupid comments about President Barack Obama. I believe the man is doing the best he can do with the mess he was given to clean up. I also believe he is doing the best he can do in spite of the people who want to see him fail simply because he is a black man with power. Get a grip, people! Have some respect. Whether you voted for him or not, he is in office, he is OUR President and he deserves the same amount of respect and consideration that every other white president in our history has gotten.

No, they named it after YOUR president that YOU elected. I had no part in that.

I’m all for improving education, but most public buildings are named after someone who has actually accomplished something. Furthermore, they are usually named for someone who is either dead, or old enough that they probably won’t disgrace themselves or their namesake.

It’s way too early to name anything after obama–get a grip yourself. and another thing…don’t pull that “if you don’t like obama you must be racist” bullshit. I don’t like obama’s socialist, elitist policies and imperious attitude. He is a weak leader on domestic policy and a disaster in foreign policy. I’d say the same thing if he was blond and blue eyed–like Jimmy Carter, who I hold in similar contempt.

I’m sure you gave President Bush EVERY consideration and respect! And its funny you automatically assume its because of his race that we are critiquing him. Talk about ignorance. Its because his progressive policies are taking away our liberties and destroying our country and his apologizing for America is grating on our nerves.

right so basically I can safely assume that you also gave such respect to Bush right?

I seriously doubt that it was only tax dollars that paid for this school… I want to know who helped pay for this school… let’s see if Soros’ name comes up…

Did anyone notice the bias of the writer of the article? If the conclusion is that this school discriminates against girls, shouldn’t the same type of conclusion be made regarding the Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School, except the discrimination is against boys?

By the way, I’m not a big Obama booster, but based on the content of the article, it just seems this is an article written by a nonobjective person.

As I sit here & read all of these comments, I read in awe to every negative comment posted. Schools are created for generations to come. Generations that will promote leaders for the future. Comments such as “these young men will learn valuable skills like making license plates while avoiding bowing and group shower” conveys ignorance of the individual, for there are other all male schools out there. Maybe the problem with this person is that this school is named under a minority? Hmm… shows how racism is still effective in America even though we call our country an “integrated” place. As far as the comment made about Hispanics about questioning their immigration status, does their status really matter, if we claim America as a country of “equal rights?” People need to take into consideration that just because the school is name after our president that does not mean that only minority people are going to be attending, for minorities attend schools that are named after past presidents. So it would be nice to give support to anything and everything out there that is created for our future leaders disregarding names, ethnicities, and anything of this nature.

…”Maybe the problem with this person is that this school is named under a minority? Hmm… shows how racism is still effective in America even though we call our country an “integrated” place.”

Why? Why do we get the “you just don’t like black people” thing? I am awestruck over the fact that you and your ilk continue this lame argument and justify it by intoning conservative ignorance.

Pigeon holing and stereotyping are very real forms of ignorance….

Therefore, by utilizing the ignorant liberal mantra to point out what you perceive as the ignorance of conservatives, you have demonstrated that you either do not fully comprehend the meaning of ignorance or you just enjoy any opportunity to call a conservative ignorant – be it true or not.

What’s cool is that neither Barack or Michelle ever went to a public school at any point growing up.
