Sheila Jackson-Lee’s stupidity is like deaths in Hollywood – it usually comes in threes. In the last week or so she’s said Republicans are turning Congress into a clogged toilet and lambasted Pepsi’s Super Bowl commercial.
Sheila Jackson-Lee answers the question, "What's your IQ, Congresswoman?"
Congratulations, Congresswoman Jackson-Lee. Your latest stupidity trifecta has now officially been completed.
CNSNews has the idiotic info:
At a House Judiciary Committee hearing about the individual mandate to buy insurance, Jackson-Lee said, “I would make the argument, one, that it [the individual mandate] is an incentive to do right – that it is not penalizing you because a penalty is punishment, and you’re not punished if you have health insurance, in fact.
“And so, you are in fact incentivized to have health insurance rather than take the negative, which is to suggest that because you have a penalty you’re being punished,” she said.
Jackson-Lee is incorrect, however, as the language of the law clearly states the following: “If an applicable individual fails to meet the requirement of subsection (a) [have government-approved insurance]… there is hereby imposed a penalty with respect to the individual, Section 5000A of the law reads.”
Another section of the health care law, entitled “Payment of Penalty,” stipulates that if an individual fails to carry a government-approved health insurance policy for any month during the year, they must pay a maximum penalty of $750.
In keeping with Jackson-Lee’s theory, we would like to announce she is smart, not stupid.

When is an idiot not an idiot? When it is from th 18th District of Texas. Someone on her staff needs to teach her (if possible) how to use the internet and a basic search engine. A few words and ta da, there on the screen will be articles and information for her to read. That is if she can read and write.
Again, I believe every person that is in favor of school choice needs to user her image and her quotes as evidence for it.

“That is if she can read and write.”
Good thing you added that to your comment.

She is so incredibly stupid that she thinks she is smart. Why do the people in the poor sections always elect the stupidest loudmouth, biggest buffoon, and most corrupt individual they can find? It ain’t just Texas either. Whenever you see someone like Jackson Lee, Al Freeken, Rangel, Slapsy Maxie Waters, etc etc, check which part of town elected them with 99% of the vote. Maybe if they tried electing someone articulate that actually gave a damn about their plight, things might improve for them.

Because those people promise the most goodies and speak at their level (6th grade). They see your piece of pie and want some of it. There is no regard for shrinking or expanding the size of the pie or about the precedence it sets. No, they just want the damn pie right now.
The ability to postpone rewards is a great indicator of income (or lack thereof).

If the blowhard moron ever loses her job in Texas there is one waiting for her in Illinois. *sigh* I need to move to Wisconsin!

Her bio claims she is an alumna of Yale and Univ of Virginia Law School. Guess neither school refutes it in fear of a lawsuit claiming racism. Like Obama and Columbia University. I find it hard to believe this moron attended high school.

If she truly went to Yale and UVA, she must have been that “special project” for each of them.

I sincerely hope you don’t think her breadth of stupidity is going to stop at three. I’ve had to listen to this idiot for years (I’m a few miles south of her district, thank God, her district is SCARY). Just wait, there’s plenty more to be said by this knot-headed windbag.

What a dope! Sheila Jackson Lee turns out ignorant, bigoted, asinine statements with the regularity and predictability of the tides. The saddest thing is that she will be re-elected (and gain seniority) so long as she choses to run for office. Our only hope is that her Congressional district is gerrymandered out of existence. Texans, you know what you have to do.

We acquired 4 more seats in the house after the last election. Perhaps the gerrymandering can begin soon!

Sure I get her, when my Father told me not to do something (or do something) or else I will get the belt he was not punishing me, he was just incentivating me to not do (or do) the thing that he said not to do (or do)… I shouldn’t have seen it as a punishment or threat of punishment I should seen it as an incentive to obey… OK Sheila well played (whatever…)
However, once I did do whatever is it that was prohibited for me to do (or else failed to do something my Father wanted me to do) how do you call the actions by my Father afterward? It is a punishment, it is a penalty nevertheless…
Usually when you make a threat against someone with any type of punishment or penalty regardless of what you want them or not want them to do the threat in of itself is a form of punishment. U are basically saying the person is not capable of making the best decision for themselves on their own and punishment or the threat is a way to curb the person’s behavior to make them do what the punisher seems to be the right choice. The punisher though must be above me in every way, shape or form until the relationship changes… maybe I grow up and mature and even if I make mistakes it is my responsibility to take care of my own issues and that person is no longer someone that has the rights to behave like that towards me anymore.
In all reality this is how Parent-child (or Elder family member to younger family member) relationships are like mostly. In some cases I guess, boss – employee relationship, of course law enforcement to citizen relationship, etc…
However IN THIS particular case: Obama is not my Daddy. She is mistaken in thinking that he is (if she does). We ain’t close, we are not in any close or meaningful relationship, and I am not a subordinate to him. He is not my boss… He is a subordinate to me, actually. He is my servant, I am not his servant and I am not his child. He is not even my judge in terms of laws, he is not my doctor and so on. Even though he may think he has my best interests in mind to MAKE me get insurance or ELSE, it is not his place to tell me what to do as per my health. He doesn’t know my particular circumstances or reasons as to what I do what I do. I obey the laws and make sure to submit to the general/majority decisions in most cases, however Obama and his minions shouldn’t mandate every aspect of my life that does not contribute to any detriment to anyone else’s life. No matter how she wants to call it incentive or whatever, it is not Obama’s nor anyone place to make me BUY something that I don’t want or to make me USE something that I don’t want.
Who the heck do these people think they are? This is even unconstitutional! Those who formulated the country’s laws didn’t place anything into effect where people were mandated to buy something from the government in order to be fully qualified citizens! It is insanity and the nanny state needs to die. When I want a Daddy I will go and talk to him, I dont need Obama nor anyone else to be my Daddy.

Incentivating.
Good word, that.

The Best thing this woman could do us SHUT UP! She is like a criminal who is advised to remain silent, but talks his way into a death penalty conviction. Put a sock in it!

Yes, and I suppose that when a man with a gun comes into a liquor store or a gas station he is also just providing an incentive to share the wealth, not committing a crime.
Ms Lee – just one question. How can you be this stupid and still live?
