Ten years of glory for Fox News. Ten years for misery for its competitors. All in one handy, dandy chart.

The 21st Century has been unkind to all the cable news networks. Except Fox, that is. The conservative news network has bucked the trend and grown a remarkable 570% in the decade.

This chart shows each network’s Nielsen average year-by-year ratings for the last 10 years (12-27-99 thru 12-23-09).

There’s only one solution for the other guys. Get Michael Mann to do the next ratings chart.

Three years ago, if someone had told me that I’d be watching FOX news exclusively, I’d have thought they were nuts. Three years ago, I switched my affiliation from Democrat to Independent and everything changed for me. I am watching FOX news now, as I type. MSNBC is a complete joke, and CNN is right there at its heels. There are lots of people watching FOX news that wouldn’t dare admit to it in public. They know that they will not get honest news reporting anywhere else.

I too am amazed to find myself watching FOX. I too am a former Democrat who is now an Independent.

I don’t want to watch any “news” that slobbers over “any” politician. If I am watching a program that is commentary I expect to get the “talents” opinion. Same on a panel. But when I want the news, I want the news. No opinion no snarky comments and no slant.

I don’t have any more respect for “most” politicians than I do for most members of the media. They are so in bed with each other a condum should be required.

I also am amazed that I now watch Fox for all of my news – politico junkie here – but I began to switch to Fox during last years presidential campaign to get an alternative source of information. CNN had become nothing but fluff and of course MSNBC was never in contention. Earlier this year I abandoned ABC (All Barack Channel) when the the absurdities just got too much to abide. Now I feel confident that I get news with grounding in Journalism not entertainment. Thank you FNC keep Journalism Alive. BTW my political affiliation is Independent Citizens Movement. Let’s take back America.

Add me to the list of former Democrats and a convert to Fox…my transition began during the primaries (couldn’t understand what was happening there) when I started researching and reading on my own…now have a growing conservative library, listen to Rush and adore Beck…finally realized that nothing the Democrat Party stands for represents me at all…I think a lot of people believe, as I did, that they are the same Democrat Party of their father’s…if he were alive, my own father would be sickened by what’s happening in our country…there is a need for massive re-education…let’s hope that our numbers are great enough to make a difference in the coming years…and I appreciate the work IHTM and others do to keep me informed and laughing…thank you…

FNC is doing fine? *Rude nose* Only if you look at the facts and check the data!

According to MSNBC the only real news comes from MSNBC and Fox is ‘not news’. So too the same song and dance with CNN, they bravely spin news stories even though they are in the gutter ratings wise; they still carry the torch and don’t let reality get in their way for a moment. Plus those two are the only channels that will honestly tell us, the stupid American public, how great and how infallible BHO is and how successful he is doing in all his undertakings. Where are we to turn for our blind propaganda fix?

You fools need to stop being so objective and caring about the whole ‘balanced and critical examination’ of modern occurrences and of what our leaders do. Just spread the hype and the lies. Without the permanent bias of MSNBC and CNN to filter the information for us we might have to (shudder!) think for ourselves on the issues! NO!!!

P.S.
GO FOX GO! 8-)
