You know, sci-fi legend Robert Heinlein predicted virtually the same thing long ago in “Job,” although not quite as absurdly. Yes, it was California. And yes, the legislature decided it was unfair that people with college degrees earned more than those without. So what’s the solution? You got it! Every person breathing was awarded a college degree at age 18.

Sometimes it’s hard for spoofs like People’s Cube and The Onion to keep ahead of the curve . . .

Heinlein, one of my favorite authors.
You do know he invented the water bed in Stranger in a strange land, right? That’s the reason the person who “invented” it could not patent it.

I believe he foresaw a lot of things, including the upcoming civil war, and (hopefully) the outcome.

I do NOT believe he was a “prophet” , Just a man with a good grasp of history and a uncanny view of the way the country was headed at the time.

Absolutely .

I was stunned as soon as I saw the word — Eloi — I knew exactly where the term came from . Then laughed . Then clicked on the link . Then laughed even more . I had forgotten about that book .

It would be interesting to see , if in future reprints , if they somehow disappear .

If this law passes I may lose my job! The company does not have one employee covered under the act for every two who are competent so some of us will have to go so they can hire more lame and lazy types. Maybe I can learn how to play stupid real quick.
