The Man Who Killed Osama bin Laden… Is Screwed. This is a tragedy and a travesty. The Obama administration should be ashamed for letting this happen, as should everyone else involved in this pump and dump of a genuine American hero.

The oozing slimeballs in Washington do not care about anything or anybody. As long as they can bullshit enough people to vote for them and rig enough precinct’s results to keep the money train rolling in. They have no problem throwing this guy and everyone on ST6 under the bus. If they can make a buck at it they will sell his name and address directly to the terrorists. Same with the media-pukes.
I heard a new one today. Politicians should be allowed two terms. One in office and one in prison. Dunno who said it, but they were right on.

But the Shooter will discover soon enough that when he leaves after sixteen years in the Navy, his body filled with scar tissue, arthritis, tendonitis, eye damage, and blown disks, here is what he gets from his employer and a grateful nation:

Nothing. No pension, no health care, and no protection for himself or his family.

This is wrong. First, he is eligible for VA healthcare for life. Second, he should be eligible for at least a partial disability pension. Third, he is missing out on an opportunity, if he were to become an instructor, and remain in the military for a few more years, he would be eligible for a pension.

I guess it’s a curse for being so damn good. I would equate this scenario to a person who spends years getting a PHD, works in industry, spent ever day for 12 years focused on their craft, then suddenly they can no longer do it. They can’t work in their field and can’t pursue a PHD in anything else. Everything they know would be turned upside down, as this mans life has been. I don’t know what to say, it’s just a damn tragedy that our nations priorities are geared towards helping those deadbeats with 10 kids who’ve done nothing with their lives while leaving people like this in the gutter. I don’t know this person, but I would like to think he does not want to live off the government for the rest of his life. The best thing we civilians can do is vote for people (or run for office) who actually care about creating a prosperous nation were people like this have plenty of opportunity to freely pursue a career and a life of their choosing, after all that’s what they’re fighting for, isn’t it?

He;s ytying to get disability, which would help. But even VA disability is not much compared to a regular salary, and his family would still have no healthcare and his would be limited to conditions identified as service related, Can any of you Vets out there confirm or correct this?

If he gets 100% disability, then his family would be covered for medical. The pension would be tax free, and about $3000/month.
I know a guy that is 100% disabled, and that is what he told me.

UPDATE: Turns out the Esquire story is totally untrue, just another MSM asshole writing a story with the specific intention of belittling the military: http://www.stripes.com/blogs/the-ruptured-duck/the-ruptured-duck-1.160117/esquire-article-wrongly-claims-seal-who-killed-bin-laden-is-denied-healthcare-1.207506

Meanwhile, Phil Bronstein, the author of the story, is taking the outrageous position of sticking by it, based on his assertion that the SEAL “didn’t know” he gets five years of free healthcare. By his logic, if the SEAL didn’t know he had something he didn’t have it.

Whatever. Veterans are chiming in to say it’s virtually impossible to get out of the military without being briefed about your VA benefits. So Bronstein is simply a liar who got what he wanted: his fifteen minutes along with a military scandal.

Interesting. They’re even arguing about it in the comments below.

They didn’t tell me I was eligible for VA medical in my briefing, but that was 27 years ago.
