New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman calls for – nay, demands – global warming laws that would require your next house to be green.
“Yes, this bill’s goal of reducing U.S. carbon emissions to 17 percent below 2005 levels by 2020 is nowhere near what science tells us we need to mitigate climate change,” Friedman wrote. “But it also contains significant provisions to prevent new buildings from becoming energy hogs…”
As we reported on February 3, Friedman married into a very wealthy family and lives in an 11,000 sq ft mansion on a 7.5 acre estate in Bethesda, Maryland. It was valued at nearly $10,000,000 before the real estate crash.
As you can see in the aerial photo of the Friedman estate, his garage is larger than your house. You know, his garage. Where he keeps his fleet of green cars.
Yeah, right.

Friedman, another limosine liberal pontificating to the unwashed masses from high atop his privileged perch in gated community land. Oh how his heart bleeds for the ignorant oppressed serfs, (that’s us). And even though Tom Fool loves us to pieces, you better make sure the sun don’t set on your a$$ in his neighborhood!

Another example. Please people, before I hear anymore about “rich republicans” can somebody actually show me the stats? This is counter to my experience and that of everyone I know.
Generally, conservatives are “high wage earners” while liberals are “rich.” Meaning, conservatives worked to get their money while liberals inherited it. Which explains why liberals feel so guilty for having it while conservatives want so desperately not to have it stolen. And which explains why high taxes don’t bother liberals. We tax income in this country, not wealth.
“Tax cuts for the rich” should be referred to as “tax cuts for high wage earners.” Interestingly, that’s what I remember it being called back before the eighties when liberals finally took control of the language of political dialogue.
Liberals love paying “the poor” to vote for their class warring cronies. But they don’t like using their own money to do it. So they use the money of wage earners. Goodbye Revolution! The Aristocrats are back in charge.
