The Hobbit was first, the article states LOTH was first, but that’s wrong.
Looks like I’ll have to just keep watching:
1977 animated version til someone with ethics comes along.

Not only was The Hobbitt first, it was a much better novel in my not-so-humble opinion. And here’s another tidbit: the real hero in the Lord of the Rings trilogy was Samwise Gamgee, not Frodo Baggins – I don’t know how people can get so fanatical about these books and not see such an obvious point.

One more point: Frodo was just about the worst casting call I’ve ever seen in a movie. They cast a skinny little sissy boy. Hobbitts are short and plain and tough, not pretty boys in tights.

I wonder what Tolkien’s daughter was most upset over, the gambling link or them using her picture for the redhead in the photo?
