Top 10 lines from the Goode Family

by editor on May 28, 2009

“The Goode Family” premiered last night on ABC-TV. It was created by politically-incorrect Mike Judge, who also created King of the Hill and Beavis and Butt-head. Most reviews (including our entire staff) agree it was funnier than hell. Here are the top 10 lines we heard.

1. “We can’t shop there. They don’t even have a mission statement.”

2. Ubuntu: “Sorry I used so much gas, dad.”
Dad: “That’s okay. The important thing is you feel guilty about it.”

3. “Don’t say ‘people of color’ because that’s just ‘colored people’ backwards.”

4. “The View is on. The pretty one is saying crazy stuff again.”

5. On a bumper sticker:
“Support our troops. And their opponents.”

6. Bumper sticker on Goode Family hybrid:
“Earth First – Ask Questions Later”

7. “WWAGD? What would Al Gore do?”

8. “Attention One Earth Shoppers. The owner of the SUV is in aisle 4 wearing a ball cap.”

9. “Your mother accidentally bought two-ply (toilet paper). But don’t worry I fixed it.”

10. Goode: “If you want to have proportionately diverse staff, we need three more minority hires.
Jensen: “Why don’t we just fire three white guys. Everybody wins.”

I guess if you think hell if funny, then it probably was. We watched about 10 minutes of it, and were disgusted with it. It isn’t anything I would have let my children watch, and especially not my grandchildren.

There is too much rot on TV.

I’ve had more laughs at a funeral. What a waste of time. Two more episodes and it’s history.

you two probably don’t think Biden is funny either.

I think ABC is running it to buy conservative offsets so they can keep George Stephanopolis if the “fairness doctrine” is passed.

You know its going to be funny when the liberals hate it.

Reminds me of a great Smiths song…”Its too close to home and too near the bone”

I am not a liberal. Hell, I’m not even a republican anymore. Nice concept but it bombed. I just didn’t find the delivery funny at all. And I am as conservative as they come.

Sooooo they basically just nicked the concept of “The Modern Parents” out of Viz, which has been running for years, then.

“Those torches of yours don’t look carbon neutral”
“Now Tarquin, fire doesn’t produce carbon because it’s one of the four natural, benevolent elements, not like power stations and easyjets”

Screw the haters, this show was damn funny, i couldn’t stop laughing all the way through

you should always give comedy 3 episodes to reach your conclusion, the first to get a taste, the second to try and improve upon your first experience, and the third to make your final verdict, because how you receive the show can vary GREATLY depending on your mood, watching through things more than once also helps :D
