Devilishly clever Nazis disguised as average Americans at a recent Town Hall meeting
Uh-oh. Time for the Democrats to retool their message, because the American public isn’t buying their stories about Republican Nazis goosestepping around all those Town Hall meetings.
According to a new USA TODAY/Gallup Poll, the American public – particularly independents – are turning against ObamaCare.
In a survey of 1,000 adults taken last Tuesday, 34% say the sometimes heated protests at sessions held by members of Congress have made them more sympathetic to the protesters’ views; 21% say they are less sympathetic.
Independents by 2-1, 35%-16%, say they are more sympathetic to the protesters now.
The findings are unwelcome news for President Obama and Democratic congressional leaders, who have scrambled to respond to the protests and in some cases even to be heard. From Pennsylvania to Texas, those who oppose plans to overhaul the health care system have asked aggressive questions and staged noisy demonstrations.
What can we learn from this? Perhaps that average Americans don’t like to see their peacefully-protesting fellow Americans characterized as Nazis.
Time to roll out Plan B, President Obama. Oh, wait. The Nazi thing was Plan B. Looks like it’s time for Plan C.
