Union workers lash out at Hostess after plant closed… (went on strike – now they’re out of work.) “They were told the company would close plants if there was a strike. They went on strike anyway.” BTW… “On January 10, 2012 Hostess Brands filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy for the second time. In a statement in its filing, the company said it ‘is not competitive, primarily due to legacy pension and medical benefit obligations and restrictive work rules.’”

It doesn’t matter. The Twinkies they have in the warehouse are good for at least twenty years.

No, it’s MacDonald’s shakes not MacDonald’s burgers that last forever. Remember back in the 70s or 80s when somebody analyzed the shakes and discovered there were no dairy products in them?

Notice on the menu, it does NOT state that it’s a milk shake. Don’t spill any in the parking lot. It eats through asphalt.

Damn, that spokesman looks and sounds like an idiot. Hey union strikers! Hostess is not General Motors, you will not be bailed out by the federal government. You were told if you strike you will lose your jobs, because Hostess already cannot afford to pay your wages or meet your demands and is in Chapter 11. It’s economics 101.
Forward!

Many many stories like this, and the workers still dont get it. The union bosses play them like a piano. When the company goes out of business, it is no skin off the union bosses nose. Yeah, they are out some dues, but all they have to do is grease a few Communist politicians and then go screw up another company and collect the extortion from the idiots that work there.
BTW, I had to do some grocery shopping today and I went out of my way to a Target just as a way of saying “F*CK YOU” to the unions.

“The coming pension tsunami”
Yeah, I’m pretty sure my military retirement pension is a goner. This pisses me off enough to k*** someone. I stood on my head in a bucket of shit for twenty-two years, fucked up my health, got old before my time, earned significantly less than the average wage earner for most of that twenty-two year period and still managed to pay my bills and feed my family. I was thinking long-term and now it looks like I’m going to have to start all over at 60. I always knew I’d probably be working until I died, but this is ridiculous

Killed the golden goose and then bitch about losing your job. When the company states that if the union strikes they will be forced to close down production. What the membership failed to realize is that if there’s no money to be made there’s no jobs to be had. It’s to bad that their buddy barry doesn’t give a shit about them now that he’s been re-elected. Used and abused, then thrown onto the scrap heap of humanity.

This is part of the entitlement mentality. They don’t understand that businesses have a right to not employ you or to fire you if they cannot keep you employed. If you are a bad employee and cost problems they can get rid of you. If you fail to work due to strike you are costing money, if you ask for exhorbitant pensions you are costing money if the government ask for their pound of flesh that costs money. Businesses are not self sustaining when no one works or when the government overreaches. It makes sense to me but it doesn’t make sense to the idiots. It sucks to loose your work, but you should have thought about it before going on strike. Just because you are you it doesn’t mean that the business should stay open just to make you happy. Come one people employ common sense. If the union says something and the employer says something else do not go with the union, make sure to accept some sacrifices or just GET ANOTHER JOB with another company that is more compliant and flexible as per your standards. You cannot MAKE an employer employ you or keep you employed if you are costing them money they should not be paying out.
