Good news: We now have so much money that Obama’s spending it to repair Mexican trucks

by editor on April 14, 2011

Problem number one: Thanks to the geniuses who negotiated NAFTA, Mexican trucks are allowed to deliver their payloads in the United States.

mexican-truck-protest

Protest all you want, suckers, the Obama administration ain't listening

Problem number two: Mexico doesn’t have our strict pollution regulations, so its trucks spew ungodly amounts of toxic gasses.

Problem number three: President Obama decided that the solution to the problem isn’t to ban Mexican trucks from the United States, it’s to spend American tax dollars to upgrade the Mexican trucks.

Judicial Watch reports the madness:

In the latest effort to accommodate its cherished trade partner in the south, the U.S. government is paying to upgrade outdated Mexican trucks that hemorrhage illegal amounts of exhaust on their trips north to deliver merchandise.

The Mexican trucks enter the U.S. under a 17-year-old international trade pact known as the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and they’ve created an air pollution crisis. The air quality in border towns has been especially impacted by the exorbitant levels of exhaust released by the Mexican trucks, which also fail to meet American safety standards.

Since the Mexican truckers have no intention of fixing the problem, Uncle Sam has stepped in to save the environment. U.S. taxpayers have picked up the cost to replace old mufflers on dozens of trucks and many more are scheduled to be upgraded by the middle of this year. The unbelievable story was reported this week by an Arizona newspaper that says replacing the old mufflers with new catalytic converters will reduce harmful diesel emissions by up to 30%.

There’s only one thing that would make this story more ludicrous: If we find out that the American government is now paying Mexican truck drivers the difference between what they would make in Mexico and what union truck drivers make in the United States.

Sadly, you wouldn’t be surprised, would you?

What’s next? Tires, Fuel injectors, No this one needs a new diesel engine!

When will the insanity stop? We’ve got to stop the governments hemorrhaging of money!

Another fine example of barry wasting my damn money on illegals instead of enforcing the law. He wonders why the states are becoming more aggressive in do what the feds are suppose to do, it’s very simple he’s asleep at the wheel and not doing anything but spouting liberl lies and mistruths.

The next question. Where are the teamsters on making sure that these trucks are safe?

Maybe we could provide some safety training courses for the imported drivers. Free of charge, of course.

Just another segment of the iceberg of Illegals (criminals) fix their trucks, feed them, house them, educate, provide Social Security checks to their illegal kids because someone in government is more worried about votes than the constitution, the 14th amendment was never for illegals! Its estimated that upwards of 20 million illegals are in the United States and 71% of them collect at least one form of government assistance (tax payers money) how many hundreds of billions of our dollars would that save from our increasing debt that the politicians can’t seem to figure out how to cut?

You said it: Votes. The democrats think it’s getting them 20 million of ‘em.
That’s an ‘estimate’. Any smart person knows they can’t all have been counted. How many are hiding, or on the run because of their other illegal activities? And, their reproducing like rabbits because it ‘pays’. That’s a lot of votes.

Wow, that’s just all I can say is wow….

1. Why does the MSM not report this????!!!!! Seems like pretty big news.
2. Why does this not outrage EVERYONE?? Seriously?

I find it completely appalling that Medicare and Social Security are in danger when s*#t like this is going on? Where the hell are the Republican asshat politicians when these decisions are being made? It’s a never ending round of BS that we have to put up with AND pay for. I am so sick of our govt and political procss….aaaaaarrrrrrrrgh! Maybe…..just maybe….if they weren’t allowed across the border until they make the modifications they would make an effort to get it done. Is there no common sense anymore??

And I’m sure none of those trucks will contain smuggled goods, drugs, or human beings, which is a good thing, because we certainly won’t inspect them, because that would be racist.

I am certain that the money will be delivered. I will be stunned if any mufflers or upgrades are bought with that money. Since the Mexican politicians are almost as corrupt as ours, the money will end up right in their pockets. “Gracias engañar a incautos”.
Speaking of idiotas, hey Teamsters, how’s that hope and change working out for you? I’m sure Dinglebarry appreciates all your money.

Somebody will make lots of money making road signs that will tell us how our money is giving people jobs, helping the environment, and bringing Mexico into our co-prosperity sphere, along with Canada, of course. And wouldn’t you know it, wouldn’t it just be better and make so much more sense if we just went ahead and made it official. We’ll call ourselves the North American Union, we’ll print new money and we’ll base it on the average price of a taco and we’ll call it the Amero, and we’ll print all signage in twenty different languages, just to be fair, and, and, and…

I am so happy that my money is allowing people to have their tools of trade well… retooled so they can be better for the environment and what not… oh wait… nobody asked me and this is not done to AMERICAN trucks (AMERICAN citizens) instead to MEXICAN trucks? Aw shucks! You are telling me that the government is once again wasting my money? Who would have thunk it?!

It might look good in a suit, but if it’s a democrat, it’s just a dressed-up turd. Same can be said of a republican. Vote for the American with conservative values. Smaller government, lower taxes. You know………..Vote. If you don’t vote, shut up (I don’t mean you, moudoka. I agree with you)

I can see it now:
Cat. Converter is put on a Mexican truck (for free).
Mexican drives across town to the scrap yard and pulls it off to sell for cash.
Mexican drives back to the repair shop and has another one installed.
Lather, rinse, repeat.

Can’t you read? This is a NAFTA initiative using state resources that are funneled to and by the federal government. So it is a federal government inititive. It was reported by an Arizona newspaper because the state is involved, but the initiative is federal. You are an idiot who can’t read. Even if it is something that is being done in AZ it is still a federal government initiative, because it concerns INTERNATIONAL pacts and interests. States do no have the power to initiate international initiatives.

You know, I can see a bit of ragging on the people who originally claimed he wasn’t born in the US. Those who starting doubting his origins later, though, had reason- he refused to produce a birth certificate for years.

When you hear hooves, think horses, not zebras. When somebody acts like they’re hiding something, it’s generally safe to assume that they have something to hide.

Granted, it always seemed somewhat implausible to me, as that’s the sort of thing that is GOING to be found out, but I understand the doubters.

Knowing the type of man he is, though, do you think there’s any chance this wasn’t planned? He knew that the longer he refused to produce BC, the more doubters there would be, so he sat on it until his approval ratings started tanking. Suddenly, it was no trouble at all for him to bring it out…you know, when it could score him some points, and he could use it to try to make his opposition look foolish. He pretends to complain about it being a distraction, but HE’S the one that could have ended all speculation on the matter years ago.

‘Course, here you are, one of his faithful sheep, to pick up the “birther” chant. We’re all racists, too, right? Just checking.

edit- yeah, that was completely off the main topic, but I’m tired of the hypocrisy of this “birther” nonsense.

Oh, I’m willing to admit that Brewer’s appointee screwed up by putting this into motion. No disagreement there.

It wouldn’t happen, though, without Obama’s EPA appointee bankrolling it.

Try it this way- a child says they want to jump off a bridge. Their father says, “Sure, great idea! I’ll drive you!” I blame the father more than the child, in that case.

Granted, Brewer needs to smack Darwin down, and put the ADEQ back in it’s place.

Obama’s doing a fine job, of being a fool. The bigger fool is the one that defends him to the bitter end. I think that’s accurate. I’m from AZ (my COLB proves it!!), but I don’t live there. The only thing Obama is doing for AZ is having Holder sue her for enforcing federal law (that’s all). And, since someone mentioned the issue, allow me: Barry’s most recent fake COLB is fake. If Obama says this one’s real, then he is admitting the first one is fake. As written before
COLB: STRIKE 2 ASSHOLE

Hey there, me. The President isn’t supposed to oversee and micromanage everything. That’s what he has cabinet members and other duly appointed officers to do. It’s called delegation. And Obama has about 30 or so unconstitutional people to delegate responsibility to, on top of the ones that are legally installed in office. He calls them czars. So no, Obama probably never heard of this program. But somebody he appointed did, and they of course wrote a check to cover the nonsense. So now Obama’s responsibility is to fire that person. But I won’t be holding my breath. And Congress says there isn’t anything else to cut.

If our money is being spent to help “make vehicles cleaner”, then why is the Obummer spending our money on Mexican trucks? Do you think our tax money should be spent to help American truck companies or should we let them fend for themselves?

This has nothing to do with Arizona you dimbulb, there are three other border states that have to put up with Mexican truck companies taking jobs away from American truck companies. American trucking companies that have to pay for all these asinine regulations out of their own pocket instead of getting a free ride on the taxpayers money.

It is not CONCEIVED by the state of AZ. It is a federal government INITIATIVE that is funneled through AZ department of a federal agency. It is perhaps run by state employees but the initiative and the money is all federal (ie taxpayers).

obama didn’t kill or find bin laden goofy. The CIA and the Navy Seals did that, all obama did was give an OK to go in and get him after the CIA said they knew where he was.

Not only does he get credit but also the Bush administration and in some case the Clinton administration they both spread the seeds whereas Bush’s administration pruned and added to the cause and Obama if anything reaped the benefits of the previous administration strategy to get to him. If I am not mistaken the effect that lead to Bin Laden’s death actually started three or four years ago. If he ordered it he does get credit for pushing it to the end, not sure if he pushed hard for it we will see.
