First, here’s George Bush’s infamous tax pledge:
And now here’s Obama’s soon-to-be-infamous tax pledge:
Learned professor Barack H. Obama should study a little ancient history. A brief look back at the late 1980s would teach him what happens when a president breaks his pledge not to raise taxes.
Business Week reports Obama’s historic (but not unprecedented) misstep:
President Barack Obama said he is “agnostic” about raising taxes on households making less than $250,000 as part of a broad effort to rein in the budget deficit.
Obama, in a Feb. 9 Oval Office interview, said that a presidential commission on the budget needs to consider all options for reducing the deficit, including tax increases and cuts in spending on entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare.
“The whole point of it is to make sure that all ideas are on the table,” the president said in the interview with Bloomberg BusinessWeek, which will appear on newsstands Friday. “So what I want to do is to be completely agnostic, in terms of solutions.”
To ask a question that is asked more and more often these days, how’s that hope and change working out for you?

BHO’s Debt Commission will be his fallguy to raise taxes on everyone. He will blame his broken promises on the Commission. Taxing us all on everything. A 5% fed sales tax, or vat on everything. Plus Fed Income Taxes too.
