You might not have a job, but you helped get Obama re-elected, and isn’t that all that matters? If you work(ed) at Newsweek, the answer is “that’s all you have left”: “Newsweek’s print edition is ending in a matter of weeks, and the anticipated staff changes have already begun. Layoffs are expected to be announced [Dec 6.] … a few editors are proactively jumping ship.” No jokes about rats and sinking ships, please. Oh, OK, just a few.

They’ll be unemployed but at least they can look back and reminisce about all the fine journalism they practiced over the years. That should occupy them for five minutes or so.

Be fair, Newsweek is folding because it sucks and has lost any relevance it might once have had to the Digital Era. This was announced long ago, and I don’t think has any particular relevance to Sock Puppet’s catastrophic mismanagement of the country.
But yeah, it still feels good, don’t it?

The idiots went all out for “Dear Leader” because they assumed that his greatness would provide continued funding for their subversive activities. But alas, the tools have been used and will be discarded.

Hah! I just read a posting in one of my professional groups that Prentiss Hall (the textbook publishers) are laying people off. One of the senior book reps (the one who works with our university) just retired in a quickie deal, about 4 years early, because she found out that they are cutting insurance for people who retire after January 2013.
What makes this amusing is that all of these “academics” (iow: socialists) are clucking and whining about this, and not a one of them has caught the fact that their wünderboy obama has anything to do with this. Incredibly stupid “smart” people.

That is funny and poetic justice at the same time. There is no way that any of the academia or publishers who are looking at the unemployment line or self employment can blame Bush. This is all barry’s and barry’s alone. I’m strapped in and ready, willing and able to plunge right off the fiscal cliff as well.
As Jerry Wright stated, “the dim wits chickens are coming home to roost” and there is plenty of chicken crap to go with them.

I am ready and waiting too. I would rather just hit it now than keep lingering for whatever happens. Since the current admin has shown no sign of changing anything – just more borrow/spend – we may as well do it now than prolong it.
As much as I hate the dems, I blame ALL politicians for this. Almost none of them give a darn about this spend, spend, spend stuff! They see this as their livelihood, and they are not going to change it, even the republicans, no matter how much their constituents complain about it. Mo’ money, mo’ money, mo’ money!

“Surviving” is relevant. Being smart (which you are) is a huge step. Being independent and responsible (which you are) is another huge step. Some other requirements are: cleverness, ingenuity, flexibility, which I think you are.
It might be tough, but I think most of us will be OK, and I don’t see most of us sticking our hands out to the government. <3

Have to ask, a kindred “Homeboy Shopping Network ” and Homey D. Clown fan? Or was that just coincidence?

Lol.
Years ago I had a small stand on a mostly deserted boardwalk in NJ (Asbury Park). I had a coin toss game giving away stuffed animals and such. But the big draw was the Homey The Clown doll. It stood about 18″ tall, and had the club he used to hit people with.

TILLIE! I could see that from my stand!
I used to work at that place (Palace Amusements) in the late 70′s.
I ran the Olympic Bob ride, the Dark Ride, the Fun House, and the Carousel.
The Palace is gone now, but they preserved Tillie.

LOL – no that was absolutely the reference. I used to love In Living Color. My daughter was nicknamed “Fly Girl” when she was a teeny baby (thank goodness it didn’t last long – cuz Homey don’ play dat!)

Made me look, it’s funny https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jukQX2pl2Q on more than one level. One because they were good and first, two but after thinking about it, watch it again and it’s downright scary. Kills me they could laugh about race & had a highly rated show that got canned.
