The image that was disallowed for SEAL target practice
SEAL training range removes Muslim target. Bowing to pressure from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Virginia Beach training range for SEALs agreed to remove an image of a Muslim woman holding a gun. This is the new, improved, Obama military after all… where men can marry men, frontline troops are pulled out of the field to take sensitivity courses, and offending Muslims is considered worse than killing them with drone strikes.

Where are they going to go now?
46,159 Canadians left the country for healthcare in 2011. Most of them were fleeing socialized Canadian healthcare for free market U.S. healthcare. Of course, that was before Obamacare was approved by the Supreme Court. One has to wonder: where they gonna go now?

Obama campaign celebrates Independence Day – with fundraiser in Paris. “The European Obama campaign starts next week in Paris on July 4 with a reception organized by various fundraising heavy-hitters…” Must’ve run out of useful idiot celebrities to mooch dinners with over here. Don’t hurry back.

Newsweek post-Obamacare decision poll shows no bounce for president. 32% said the SCOTUS’s decision would make it more likely they’d vote for Romney, 11% said less. Despite wanting Obama REPLACED as president, 48-42, they still prefer him over Romney 47-44… One number is going to meet the other by November. Note: link is to a summary, full (much longer) poll here.

Border Patrol union blasts Homeland Security instructions to ‘run away’ and ‘hide’ from gunmen. We guess they didn’t want anymore dead Border Patrol agents shot by Operation Gunrunner guns.

If Healthcare Law Is A Tax Is It Now Invalid? It seems that we remember something in civics class about Article 1, Section 7 that prohibits taxes from originating in the Senate. It also seems that we remember Obamacare originating in the Senate. So the question is . . . does that render any or all of this bill invalid? We won’t hold our breath though. The Constitution prohibits a majority of the things those in government do, which is why they’ve learned how to ignore it.

Katrina vanden Heuvel: Justice Roberts’s Legacy: We are all painfully aware of Justice Robert’s legacy. But what can you say about a man that must have felt the Dred Scott decision was not so much wrong as it was too narrow? What can you say about a man that has effectively made federal property out of us all?

Ouch! Sarah Palin Slaps Down Bob Beckel on Death Panels: Alright, so Sarah Palin has certainly had more than her fair share of dim moments -although perhaps not so many as Barry- but it is pure joy to watch her shut Bob Beckel down in this fairly short clip.

Kevin Smith on God: I’m spiritual myself; I believe in God. I don’t need some dude judging me and how I live, and cramming God down my throat. God is something that, you go to the fridge and say, “I want a can of God,” and you enjoy it. The moment somebody is like, “You have to take all of this god, you have to carry it and you have to live these rules,” they ruin a good thing . . . That is good advice about not shoving “God” on people. Unfortunately Smith cannot apply this reason to the other place in which it applies. Otherwise he’d stop trying to shove his big government and his rules and his controls onto us.

Issa puts wiretaps detailing official knowledge of gunwalking tactics into Congressional Record. “…the wiretap applications contained a startling amount of detail about the operation, which would have tipped off anyone who read them closely about what tactics were being used.” Well don’t think of it as gunwalking, think of it as a tax. Roll Call’s story but they are overloaded – the linked story links to the RC original if you want to try again later. Update: More here.

I’m not sure the White House wants to own it.” “On the day when the Democrats should be in full celebratory mode, where the Morning Joe crowd is bursting with Schadenfreude you have the White House and congressional candidates running away after a huge victory.” “As General Nathanael Greene said after Bunker Hill: I wish we could sell them another hill at the same price.” Sounds like racist Tea Party rhetoric.

Now the TSA has humiliated Captain Kirk
TSA humiliates Captain Kirk. William Shatner was singled out for a search by TSA inspectors (aging science fiction actors being a well-known source of terrorism around the world) and during the search his pants fell down in front of everybody. Chalk up another victory for the TSA.

Obama wins the battle, Roberts wins the war. A Slate writers take: “The chief justice’s canny move to uphold the Affordable Care Act while gutting the Commerce Clause.” The WaaahPost’s Ezra Klein think Roberts is a political genius. Time will tell.

Meanwhile…. Abound Solar to close, will seek bankruptcy, U.S. says. “U.S. taxpayers may lose as much as $30 million on the loan after Abound’s assets are sold and the bankruptcy proceeding closes…” Hey, it’s not a bankruptcy, it’s a tax! Another victory for Obama!

Courts and the Constitution. Looks like Mitt needs to edit his website and rid it of Justice RINO. In paragraph 4: “As president, Mitt will nominate judges in the mold of Chief Justice Roberts and Justices Scalia, Thomas, and Alito. These justices hold dear what the great Chief Justice John Marshall called “the basis on which the whole American fabric has been erected”: a written Constitution, with real and determinate meaning.” If it disappears I have a screenshot. Mr. Ed or Mr. Adm will have to load it because it won’t load.

White House Insider: OBAMACARE …”Now we are truly ready to fight.” Posted a similar take in a comment to an earlier article before reading this. You be the judge. “The Obamacare ruling is good news for us. Real good news. It’s 2010 all over again now. Swing states will shift over to Romney in most cases. Trust me on this. We’ve done the polling. The data is conclusive on this. It’s a huge tax. We got Obama lying. Again.”
