Brandon, Mississippi will go down in history as the town where the Westboro Baptist Church met its match.

The lunatics showed up to protest at the funeral of local hero Staff Sgt Jason Rogers who was killed in Afghanistan, but left town without making a peep. They may have made a few moans and groans, but no peeps.

westboro-demonstrator

Westboro Baptist is really more of an asylum than a church

The Hayride has the righteous report:

A couple of days before, one of them (Westboro protestors) ran his mouth at a Brandon gas station and got his arse waxed. Police were called and the beaten man could not give much of a description of who beat him. When they canvassed the station and spoke to the large crowd that had gathered around, no one seemed to remember anything about what had happened.

Rankin County handled this thing perfectly. There were many things that were put into place that most will never know about and at great expense to the county.

Most of the morons never made it out of their hotel parking lot. It seems that certain Rankin county pickup trucks were parked directly behind any car that had Kansas plates in the hotel parking lot and the drivers mysteriously disappeared until after the funeral was over. Police were called but their wrecker service was running behind and it was going to be a few hours before they could tow the trucks so the Kansas plated cars could get out.

A few made it to the funeral but were ushered away to be questioned about a crime they might have possibly been involved in. Turns out, after a few hours of questioning, that they were not involved and they were allowed to go on about their business.

No lawyers. No judges. No counter protests. Just a good old fashioned ass kicking.

That’s exactly what the Westboro lunatics have been asking for, so it’s only fair that the good folks in Rankin County gave it to them.

Next time, put it on pay per view and make a fortune for the widows and children of the military heroes. We know we’d pay to see it.

Update: We thought we should include the video that accompanied the original story. It’s the view from a trooper’s dash cam recording the escort of Marine Staff Sgt Jason Rogers as hundreds or even thousands of onlookers gathered alongside the roadway to pay their respects.

I used to think that this was all some sort of sick joke, that no good christian could possibly preach messages of hate like this. I used to just hate Nazis. The Westboro Baptist Church are Nazis under a different guise. I’d personally like to beat all the males in the organization within an inch of their life, with a dildo

Well, if it isn’t Fweetness. What made you break your silence? Did the hate inside you finally boil over?

Just a thought, Nick you wouldn’t happen to live in Loveland, Oh. and call talk radio all the time would you? Strike me speechless if that’s the case.

why only the males? the females are just as deadly and nasty.

poppajoe49

It’s tempting, but we don’t really like to beat women. There are exceptions, but these are brainwashed and possibly can be saved.

Brandon is a crap hole…CNN showed America, 08-05-12, that Brandon is full of racist scum. May anyone from ur town crash and burn….I will always treat Brandon people like scum. may the word spread….

And may you spend the rest of your life jacking yourself off, since I’m sure not even Jerry Sandusky would want to touch you.
When did you get your herpes and AIDS cured?
Did you finally stop beating your wife and raping your children?

True, for just a couple of days, Brandon was indeed occupied by racist scum. But if you had read the article a little more carefully, you would have learned that the good citizens of this town did what was right and necessary to rid themselves of them. Your anger towards these racist, Mr. MeOff, is well understood, but no longer called for.

And you believe everyone in the media??? Maybe you should go there and tell them how racist they are, and tell them that they are scum. I am sure you will get the same reception as the Westboro people, and probably not be able to walk out.

Anyone knows this woman’s name that is holding that sign? Please have her contact me, as I am a proud mother of two United States of America’s Army soldier’s. I love to meet her for chat!

You tell them Girl, I am with you all the way. My spouse was Army in the 60’s and three sons and one daughter-in-law proudly served in the Navy, Marines and the Army. One son retired from the Marines after serving 20yrs and my daughter-in-law, married to the son who was in the Army, retired after very proudly serving 24 years in the Navy. We should give the men, women and their families that serve our country all our love and thanks for what they do for our country.

I was there the day Jason was laid to rest.. I ride with the Patriot Guard Riders.. There was no way anyone was going to be allowed to disrespect Jason, his family, or the USMC. Every soldier/sailor deserves AT LEAST what we tried to give Jason on that day.
Thank YOU for your dedication, your service, and your sacrifice for all of us here at home. There are some of us that are forever grateful, and will never forget..

I was there as well, we were part of Central Mississippi Jeep Association and in the big lifted Jeeps. We were there to provide a vehicular wall to block WBC, but never saw them. My sister rode with us and shared her experience on her blog, very powerful and moving, and i dont say that just because I’m her brother.

Personally, I’d like nothing better than to kick some WBC asses up around their shoulders. But it’s called a slippery slope for a reason. If being the good guys were easy, everyone would do it. The greatest peril, when fighting evil, is becoming your enemy.

Well said. Aside from the outright asskickin doled out, I think the good folks of Brandon did exactly the right thing.

Sad that these people are even in the same proverbial boat with religion….they should be classified with the ACLU, KKK, and other nutcase groups that target people of faith. I think I might retire in this town…lots of ‘horse’ sense here!

The law used to stick together (military and police.) I wish it could still be this way. Small town justice- if you to to handle it, you do and you know that no one will call the cops because you’re both antaganizing the situation. And its a hell of alot more satisfying to beat someones ass than to go to court for a restraining order or whatever the case may bring.

I also belong to the PGR, and when I joined, it was specifically to prevent the WBC from disrespecting our fallen heros. The PGR is very much for the protection of the WBC to protest, we only believe it should not be allowed at the funerals of the fallen. there will always be folks like poppajoe49 that will try to take our efforts a step further and go beyond our mission. it is sad that we must include such folks and give them the right to say whatever they wish, on both sides of the fence, but let me assure you, poppajoe49 does not speak for the PGR, he only uses it as a stick to prop his shaky understanding of the constitution, in hopes to only allow those who do not disagree with his position to enjoy it’s protections.
the problem is and always has been, not the protesters or the ones who would stop them, but the local governments that issue permits that would allow confrontation of the 2 groups. While it is very important to preserve the rights of the WBC as well as all our citizens, it is not good policy to allow the protests to be held at the same location and time as the funerals.
But, I know my audience here, and am certain those blinded by hatred of the WBC ain’t gonna like to hear the truth.

poppajoe49
Member

Uh Phil, can you please show where I have said anything about taking PGR efforts beyond the stated mission? If you can’t, maybe you should STFU. I never said anything to that effect and never stepped out of line at any missions. My understanding of the Constitution isn’t shaky, but your interpretation of my posts sure is.
You seem to have the shaky understanding of the Constitution. The local governments have to issue the WBC permits to protest because of the Constitution, if they were to deny them, they would be subject to a lawsuit, and I’m sure the ACLU would be all too happy to bring it for them. Your solution to the confrontation is unconstitutional!

Westboro Baptist Church spreads its hate through picketing in our streets, provoking attacks, with abusive language and flag desecration, attempting to create a confrontation. This is not a church, this is a hate group. This is not about protesting, freedom, or God. They are in it for the money and the press; this is a family law firm. They are not a “church.” It is a scam. They go after anything that can get them in the news. This is a family of lawyers using this “god hates you” thing to make money. It is time for this scam and the hate to end.
