The only honest member of the Obama administration? Bill Daley calls President’s policies indefensible

We have a feeling that President Obama is not going to be happy with White House Chief of Staff Bill Daley. Not happy at all.

We have a feeling that President Obama is not going to be happy with White House Chief of Staff Bill Daley. Not happy at all.

Daley spoke at the annual meeting of the National Association of Manufacturers on Thursday and said a few things he’d undoubtedly like to take back.

When the business leaders complained about the Obama administration’s expansion of onerous regulations, Daley said he couldn’t explain what President Obama is doing and admitted that even he is frustrated by the “bureaucratic stuff that’s hard to defend.”

“Sometimes,” Daley said, “you can’t defend the indefensible.”

Daley hemmed and hawed and couldn’t or wouldn’t answer the executives’ questions. It finally reached the point that the execs began applauding each other’s criticism of President Obama’s policies.

At one point, the room erupted in applause when Massachusetts manufacturing executive Doug Starrett, his voice shaking with emotion, accused the administration of blocking construction on one of his facilities to protect fish, saying government “throws sand into the gears of progress.”

Liberals accused President Bush of going to war in Iraq just to get his hands on their oil. Perhaps President Obama has gone to war in Libya to get his hands on their sand.
