Chicago Police Chief: Second Amendment Is A Danger To Public Safety. Is February National Pinhead Police Chief Month? This guy is a total failure. His police department obviously doesn’t function. Evidence? How about 4,500 murders in Chi Town since 2003. That’s a 450 per year average. January 2013 had 42 that they know of, yet they think MORE gun regulations will solve the problem which is not only inane, it’s insane. He’s right, the Second Amendment is a danger to public safety, but only if usurped by these clowns.

Chief of Police in CHICAGO?????? Consider the source and ignore him.

His methods have worked so well there, we must ALL do it his way!

sa_rose, sorry, can’t ignore him. What happens in Chicago is infecting the rest of the nation, & add to that, Rahm Emanual wants to be president, along with Hillary, who also has Chicago roots. Then you add the 2 jackoffs from NYC, Michael Bloomberg & Andrew Cuomo, & if the GOP cannot pull it’s head out of it’s ass & they try giving us another nominee like Romney, McCain, or Dole, 1 of those 4 progrssive authoritarians will become president in 2016. That is, if Obama actaully leaves The White House.

I wish I could chuckle and assure you that would never ever happen, but. . . . . . . . . . .

Amazing this guy still has a job – oh, never mind…I see he is employed in Chicago, IL. Anyone else taking notes that so many other areas of the USA are now copying the political ways of Chicago, IL? They must be our saviors!! 😉

Maybe he’s on to something here. Ever since we repealed that right-to-take-drugs amendment, we got all the illegal drugs right the hell off the streets, so I’m sure that getting rid of the second amendment would have an equally good result.

All is clear: The man wants to keep his job rather than buck the system, and keep his $250K salary. So much for looking after the citizens. He is a political appointee.

“Mayor Rahm Emanuel appointed Garry F. McCarthy, former director of the Newark, New Jersey, Police Department, as Superintendent; this was approved by the City Council on June 8, 2011”.

@GeoffB, been meaning to ask when I saw you, do you ever listen to Mike McConnell 10-12 on 720 WGN?

I don’t. But I haven’t lived in Chicago in years. I wonder if I can get it downstate?

That’s right, my mistake, you were visiting your Mom or something in ChiTown?, why it stuck in my head.

I listened to him here out of Cinci for almost 20years and he got his lifelong dream job in Chicago and left here a couple years ago. Just wondered how he was doing.

I’ll try to remember to check him out next time I’m out there. I have some vacation time coming up and want to get up there for my nephew’s birthday.

Geoff, you could just do this:

LOL, I tried that a couple times and it just bummed me out all over again that he left, so I stopped.

Sounds a little strange but because of my work you figure pretty much 3 hrs a day 5 days a week for almost 20 years is a lot of time to ‘spend’ with somebody and one day they’re just gone. No advanced warning, blog scrubbed from the stations website, poof.

I know that Chiefs of Police are not technically politicians, but this guy talks too much like one not to be thought of as one. That said, he has to be the most vile and ignorant person I’ve heard in a long time, even for a politician.

That doesn’t count Barry, of course.

Look at the clusterfuck to the left of the chief. That tells you all you need to know about the chief. The chief will do what he’s told to do by said clusterfuck.

Sorry, a cop in a suit and tie isn’t my idea of a cop. He’s a politician. A crooked, corrupt, leftist, politician. Oh, sorry. It already said he was from Chicago.

My wife’s cousin was married to Lenny “Luca Brasi” Montana. He passed away in 1984.
He had too much integrity to be a politician.

He led a very interesting life, from pro wrestler to Colombo crime family enforcer and arsonist, to actor.

Chief McCarthy is an imbecile and unfit for the job he holds. He is another example of what’s wrong with Chicago and the corrupt, criminal Democrat political machine that runs it. None of his recommendations will do anything to reduce the murder rate in Chaicago, they’ll just make the ordinary, honest citizen less safe. In fact, I suspect that the political gangsters running the Windy City want the city to be unsafe–a terrified, cowed citizenry is easier to control.

Another ass kissing fool. What is a threat to the US Constitution are fools like the one standing to this ass kissers right.

It is time for all that have raised their right hands and swore to uphold the Constitution of this country and that of your state to remember it is those documents that make us the better country for it. If we throw them away to just appease the fools and scoundrels, we will become nothing more than another tyrannical dictatorship that will have to be over thrown.

All big city police chief’s serve at the pleasure of the mayor. Most big city mayors are corrupt, Chicago being one of the most corrupt since it has been that way for at least a hundred years. No doubt this McCarthy character would do anything ole Ram Butt tells him to, including getting on his knees.

McCarthy went on to express his belief that judges and legislators should rely on public opinion polls when interpreting our Constitution.

Well, at least he has a reasonable plan.
