Wow. Just wow. Chris Matthews thinks World War II
re-enactments are “homoerotic”

by editor on October 14, 2010

Rich Iott is a Republican running for Congress in Ohio. He’s a history nut and into historical reenactments. He’s done the Civil War, the American Revolution and for all we know, the Boer War. But photos have been leaked showing him dressed as a Nazi while doing a World War II reenactment. And Chris Matthews cannot comprehend it.

“Is this some kind of homoerotic thing,” Matthews asked. “Do they put on these uniforms and dance around?”

No, Chris, and they don’t get a tingle up their leg when they reenact history. It’s like cowboys and Indians, Chris. Some people have to be the cowboys and some people have to be the Indians. But that doesn’t mean the Indians cover themselves with Crisco and dance around the campfire.

Of course, liberals like Chris Matthews don’t understand that in games, just like in real life, there are good guys and bad guys. White hats and black hats. Without the Axis, there wouldn’t have been any Allies. Without losers, there are no winners. That’s why they promote self-esteem curicullum instead of real world experience. And that’s why liberals don’t keep score in Little League games.

But don’t forget, it’s the conservatives who are called homophobes. Always the conservatives.

But it does raise an interesting question:

Mr. Matthews, sir, when you refer to conservatives as tea baggers, is that a homoerotic thing?

Just wondering.

Sorry Chis and Rachel…this is a non-issue. Someone has to play the “bad” guy in reinactment exercises.

Give them a break. Normally, when Chris sees a person in a Nazi uniform, they *are* in a homoerotic exercise. It’s just that ol’ Chris is wearing a ball gag at the time. He’s just jealous.

I’m glad Eric Cantor saw fit to denounce this ridiculous “hobby”. Since he was booted from the “Young Guns”, I guess it was more than a “non-issue” for a few folks beyond just the left. 🙂

What IS a non-issue is his actual chances for a win in his campaign bid.

Look, while must admit George Carlin was onto something when he said of war re-enactors, “Use live amunition, assholes”. But this is nothing about nothing from people who mean nothing. When those who play Nazis in movies, from “Where Eagles Dare” to “Blue Brothers” are held out in the same esteem as war re-enactors, then I’ll listen.

I live in the South where Civil Wars re-enactments abound and other stuff where men put up the uniforms of the southern army. It doesn’t bother me. I mean it is a RE-ENACTMENT of the battles for fun and show. What is wrong with this guy?

Matthews coverage of Obama has been “homoerotic”, or at least masterbatory. After all, he is the one getting a thrill running up his leg from time to time.

Why did Rich Iott’s Wiking fansite romanticize the “bad guys” (as you put it) and leave out all the atrocities?

You don’t believe there was a homoerotic tone to any of the Nazi human experimentation and torture that was carried out under the veil of “biological research”? Genitalia freezing and castration? Perhaps you should read “Sexuality and German Fascism” By Dagmar Herzog

And why in the world would a conservative red-blooded American wanna play out his dress-up games on the side of the Nazi Axis “bad guys” and not be on the side of the Allies?

Just wondering.

Using your logic if I donned a Confederate uniform in a Civil War re-enactment, I must be pro slavery and have perverted sexual fantasies about “Southern Belles”.

Too, in any war re-eactment, somebody has to wear the Bad Guy uniform, otherwise what’s the point?

So why would any red-blooded conservative “wanna” (only red-blooded conservatives say “wanna”, right?) dress like a Red Coat, Confederate or Nazi. Who knows? You certainly don’t.
