MSNBC opted to expose the ShamWow scandal instead of covering the ACORN scandal

Anyone watching the video of the ACORN employees helping a pimp with underage prostitutes immediately recognized it as a huge story. Fox gave it all the attention it deserved, but other networks concentrated on more important stories.

MSNBC, for example, ran an investigative report entitled “ShamWow or sham? Rating infomercial goods.” Even the Snuggie was not safe from the razor’s edge reporting MSNBC is known for. It’s story began by saying, “You know how we’ve all been mesmerized by the flashy demos and the fast-talking pitchmen promising that their gadgets will change your life ‘but only if you act right now!’” (Hey, isnt that the same pitch President Obama used for the Stimulus Package, Cap-and-Trade, and healthcare?)

CNN broke story of a different sort. Since this is a family-oriented website, we’re just going to post the headline and link to “Women face trial for staged motel tryst ending with glued penis.” But we have to admit it does sound far more scandalous than a phony hooker and pimp. Not to mention more painful.

CBS could not find the space to cover the ACORN scandal, either, because its crack investigative team was busy covering the burning story of Jon & Kate and who they featured in a story titled “Jon Gosselin: I Despise Kate.”

Strangely enough, ABC News did offer coverage with a story titled “ACORN Fires 2 After Hidden-Camera Footage Aired.” But it immediately returned to form in the body of the story by seemingly blaming Fox news for the whole controversy. “Maryland ACORN board member Margaret Williams says in a statement the employees “did not meet ACORN’s standards of professionalism,” the network said. “The statement also says the video was an attempt to smear ACORN and that undercover teams attempted similar stunts at three other ACORN offices.”

We also checked the left wing blogosphere, diligently searching news sources such as the Huffington Post and Media Matters. HuffPo dedicated most of its front page to calling for the tar and feathering of Glenn Beck and with an article by Gary “Monkey Business” Hart.

Media Matters cover story was a hate-filled rant of all things Fox. It was titled “Following Beck’s instructions, Fox News attempts to change story from health care to ACORN.” This article pretty much blames Fox and Beck for all that is wrong with the universe.

So were the other media outlets other than Fox asleep at the switch? Or is it true that just because a dog has it’s eyes closed does not mean that it’s asleep.

I wonder if the hooker that put the slap chop on the sham wow guy claimed to be a performance artist on her tax returns?

Thanks to Fox, acorn isn’t in the census business anymore. Maybe congress will cut the stimulus money as well.

Oh come on! You can’t actually expect the MSM to cover this.

That would mean there could actually be problems associated with The One.

ACORN is in a public relations free fall right now. Don’t be surprised when they let them back in.
