If Glenn Beck is crazy, what does that make Obama’s oil moratorium?

Should you entrust your national energy policy to a guy who looks like Major "King" Kong, the Slim Pickens character in Dr. Strangelove?

That Glenn Beck, he sure has some crazy conspiracy theories on that show of his, doesn’t he? At least that’s what those on the left seem to think. But one might wonder just how crazy Beck is in light of the current administration’s handling of the Gusher in the Gulf.

Take the moratorium on drilling, for instance. You know, the one that was sold to the American people by employing that age-old political strategy known as “lying like a rug.”

No sooner had a federal judge who apparently possessed more than the required half a brain struck down the moratorium issued by Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, a man lacking in both cranial matter and any commitment to the truth, spring into action. According to NBC News, “Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said Tuesday he will issue a new order imposing a moratorium on deepwater drilling after a federal judge struck down the existing one.”

What is truly amazing is that NBC manages to work its own conspiracy theory into the story, wondering if Judge Feldman, who struck down the initial moratorium had ulterior motives – such as money – saying that “Feldman’s financial disclosure report for 2008, the most recent available, shows holdings in at least eight petroleum companies or companies that invest in them, including Transocean Ltd., which owned the Deepwater Horizon.

In reality, the report shows that most of his holdings were valued at less than $15,000, though it did not provide specifics. It’s not clear whether Feldman still has all of the energy industry stock listed in the two-year old report. Recent court filings indicate he may no longer have Transocean shares. He did not own any shares in big companies such as BP PLC, which was leasing the rig that exploded, or ExxonMobil.”

At the same time the article was making the administration in general and Ken Salazar in particular sound bold and even heroic for their firm stance on drilling, it never mentioned those suffering in the Gulf. You know, the ones whose jobs, businesses and livelihoods daily depend on offshore drilling.

And as to Glenn Beck? Well, Beck has been speaking lately about the Obama administration’s own oil ties. Foreign oil ties, that is. In particular, Beck questions the $2,000,000,000.00 dollar loan to Brazil for – wait for it – performing deep water oil drilling at a far greater depth than the BP well in the Gulf.

Correct us if we’re wrong, but sn’t that ocean off Brazil and Venezuela part of the same world that the administration tells us we have a “moral obligation” to save?

I am offended that anyone in this fluster-cluck of an administration would be compared to a great American like Slim Pickens. BTW Maj. Kong nuked the snot out of them Ruskees! (Hi there) ( Dear John) [written on the bombs]

Remember, the moratorium is supported by Slim Pickens, who’s pushing his own agenda…and it’s not oil.

Horrible. It is amazing to see the dots being connected.

It’s funny that the deeper Beck digs the only attacks coming from the Left is that he is crazy. They never attack what Beck highlights.

Attack the messenger, not the message I reckon.

And how about General Petraeus now having to go back to work for the people who called him a flat out liar……

PittZ,

What you are seeing is Rule 13 from Alinsky in action…

Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, & polarize it.

…if you know about Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals”, you will notice the liberal/progressive/socialist/marxist types in politics, media, & the lefty blogs are using it almost to the letter. Once you know it, you see it, plain as day.

It isn’t about the environment, money, or business. It’s about power, always has been always will be.
