Wondering if this guy has any new, casual, seemingly anti-government friends? With connections to the FBI (Fake Bomb Informants).
Or, was this a test of the TSA (Tremendously Stupid Acolytes).
Either way, bet he quits carrying the watch whenever he has to go through a TSA check point.

I’m waiting to hear the official explanation as to why he was arrested, and held, even after it was determined that there was no danger.

I’d like to see the watch. Haven’t been able to locate a picture of it yet. Anyone else have any better luck? You’d think someone along the line would have taken/posted a picture by now.

So, my laptop battery has a 9 cell battery with 91 Watt hours of energy at full charge. That’s the equivalent energy of 120 grams of TNT. And I can bring this on the plane no problem. But God forbid my watch can do more than tell time.

Makes perfect sense to me!

Sounds like he might have actually been up to something.

The watch was part of his “steampunk” costume. I see it all the time, never once suspected that there was anything about to explode.

If it was a really cool one, it probably looked kinda like this.

Cool! But I can see where that would confuse a TSA agent.

It’s not difficult to confuse a TSA agent. Show them a copy of the Constitution, they go into convulsions.

How stupid do you have to be to try to bring something like that through the airport?
