Space Relations with the Muslim world: The Final Frontier

by editor on July 6, 2010

There are days you’d swear life came right off the front page of the Onion. Like this story, for example:

NASA Administrator Charles Bolden said in a recent interview that his “foremost” mission as the head of America’s space exploration agency is to improve relations with the Muslim world.

No, seriously, that’s what he said. Here’s the money quote:

“When I became the NASA administrator — or before I became the NASA administrator — he charged me with three things. One was he wanted me to help re-inspire children to want to get into science and math, he wanted me to expand our international relationships, and third, and perhaps foremost, he wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science … and math and engineering….”

Captain Kirk would never go for this. Neither would Picard. We’re pretty sure it’s a direct violation of the Prime Directive.

(Yes, the Editor is a Trekkie and he’s not ashamed to admit it. But if he had voted for Obama, he’d be pretty damned ashamed to admit that right now.)

Liberal bitches (men and women) like that Pelican over at FOX and some so call independents like O’Reilly are saying that there is no vast conspiracy here, that it is not a BIG DEAL that this means nothing in fact it it NICE that we are reaching out to the muslim world… (they forgot to say again).

Okay fine…

However how would have their reactions have been if this was Bush right after 9/11 or a couple of years afterwards? Heck what if he would still be Prez and he would say that now? I am thinking the reaction would have been extremely different.

Now let’s forget about that for a minute. It has been 9 years since 9/11 okay so maybe it is about time we reach out to the Muslim World and see if we can be “friends”, fine whatever however why EXACTLY does NASA have to do it?

So yeah Arabs gave us Algebra, thank you it was about 1000 (-/+?) years ago? Let’s move on. NASA has no reason to be reaching out to the Muslim World nor to make the Muslims feel GOOD about their contributions to math and science from the very far past. It is absurd.

I would like to invite President Obama to experience ‘pung far’ with himself, because, as far as I am concerned, that is what he can go and do.

Obama’s election:
One small step for the democratic machine.
One GIANT leap (backwards) for free people everywhere.

Id say he was right on track if his primary mission was blowing jihadis into space.

What stupidity. So kissing muslim butt and “making them feel good” about their contributions to math, science, etc centuries ago is going to stop their radicalism? I would say no. Since they have not progressed from their seventh century mindset and have to rely on everyone else for technology, this is an exercise in futility and stupidity.
Silly me, I thought NASA was founded for the purposes of all things space and scientific. Didn’t realize they are supposed to be a PR tool and another project for this joke of an administration to staff with idiots and marxists and misuse taxpayer money.
If obama would be half as nice to our few remaining friends and allies as he is to our enemies, how much better off we would be.

Wow…more nonsensical bullcrap from this administration. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised at anything that comes out of these people’s mouths. Obama scapes the bottom of the barrel to find idiots, like Bolden, who will do his bidding and promote his Muslim friendly policies.

I’d compare NASA reaching out to Muslims to Starfleet reaching out to the Borg…a totally pointless effort that will only embolden them more in their efforts to assimilate everyone into the Muslim “collective.”
