WaPo wants Congress to call off radical Islam hearings because Republicans won’t condemn Sarah Palin

by editor on January 12, 2011

Never let it be said that the Washington Post lets a good crisis go to waste. They’ve somehow made a connection between the horror of the Tucson massacre and horror of Congressional hearings on radical Islam.

keith ellison

The way we understand the Post, it's better to vilify Sarah Palin than to vilify a schmuck like Keith Ellison

Say what?

Let’s just let the WaPo hoist itself on its own petard:

The shooting in Tucson offers Rep. Peter T. King (R-N.Y.) an opportunity to rethink his planned Homeland Security Committee hearings on Muslim “radicalization” in this country.

King says he’s worried about the “disconnect,” as he calls it, “between outstanding Muslims who contribute so much to the future of our country and those leaders who–for whatever reason–acquiesce in terror or ignore the threat.”

By that standard, he should have hearings on the failure of Republican leaders to denounce Sarah Palin’s “crosshairs” Web page and Sharron Angle’s invocation of “Second Amendment remedies” to Big Government and her opponent in the Nevada U.S. Senate race, Harry Reid.

Of course, that is no business for the Homeland Security Committee. Imagine the response if King’s Democratic predecessor, Rep. Bennie Thompson of Mississippi, had tried to summon Palin and Angle, not to mention Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck, to testify at such hearings.

King’s announcement of hearings last month proved incendiary, with law-abiding U.S. Islamic groups and such prominent individuals as Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.), the first Muslim elected to Congress, protesting that such an attention-getting forum will only further “vilify” them.

Congratulations to the Washington Post. It’s still early in the year, but this one is definitely in the running for Most Irrational Column of 2011. We’re reasonably intelligent guys, but we found it impossible to follow the twisted logic in this piece.

But if the only thing King’s hearings accomplish is the vilification of a schmuck like Keith Ellison, then we say bring ‘em on.

And one more thing: ever notice how Keith Ellison has not used a muslim name? As nice as Minnesotans are, I’d wager that he wouldn’t have been elected with one.

In terms of Minnesota, I blame three letters for the condition that state is in…

DFL–Democratic–Farmer–Labor

I was born, raised, & still live in MN, & those 3 letters are a bit of a problem.

Did I miss something? Is it really that ALL that Palin did was but crosshairs on a the Congresswoman’s district? Didn’t she also had it on other districts…? have all congress people and senators from those districts ALSO been shot? are these people stupid? wasnt it proven that this guy was obsessed with the congresswoman 2-3 years before anyone outside of Alaska knew who Sarah Palin was? What is wrong with these people…?

I personally think the liberals won’t stop until we are involved in a civil war or worse.
I can’t decide if they know what they are doing and want war or just to stupid and short sighted to see the enviable end to their agenda.

I believe they are trying create an environment fertile for chaos so the POTUS can institute complete control of Americans by proxy through a military general under martial law.

Example of this call to chaos: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/frances-fox-piven-rings-in-the-new-year-by-calling-for-violent-revolution/

(Please pardon my redundancy, IHTM.com, as I addressed this issue several days ago)

I fear this same thing. He doesn’t have to worry about the next election if he stops it with the emergency action and martial law which would bring the UN blue tops knocking on the door asking if you have any guns inside.

Isn’t this the same RINO who wants a new laws to keep all guns at least 1,000 ft. away from the anointed ones?

He is a perfect example of why no NE corridor republican should ever, be elected to POTUS.

It is time to fight your enemy on the terms that they fully understand. Those in the conservative movement need to just go after every lie, half truth and total crock of BS with full force. Call out any one who is spreading this crap and let the chips fall where they may.

Not standing up only emboldens those that oppose you. Screw bipartisan. Just as the current occupant of the White House has said “Elections of have consequences” and guess what. The last one should too. It’s time that the democrats sat down and shut up and listen to the American people, not the MSM.

I agree 110%.

Bush did the country a disservice by not fighting the left wing smear machine at every lie they told. Sadly, it brought about both Pelosi and Obama and their reign of incompetence.

Exactly. I completely agree. Bush had A LOT to say and he wanted to say it but his excuse was that the media wasn’t listening he should have said it anyway … and loudly.

Odd part about this is it’s the same logic used by the nut job shooter.
He posted a slew of IF THEN logic statements on his myspace page – linking disturbed ideas to other disturbed ideas trying to rationlize them. I think the crack IHTM.com neuro team needs to get a grant to study this liberal brain farting.

Anybody or anything that disagrees with the glorious Utopian future that the communist democrats are working so hard for is by definition either a “Hater” or “Hate Speech.”

Don’t try to make sense of this. Just accept it komrades.

Since liberals are basically zombies who need to be told what to think and say, they will surely believe this nonsense. We can’t make any sense of it because there is none to be made, but that’s because we actually think and reason. I wish liberals had the ability to do it. Thank God I am not and never was a liberal.

Sorry trinity,
I must disagree, unlike zombies, liberals show no interest in brains.

This radical Islam issue needs to be brought to the level of a serious national debate. If we don’t get this issue out in the open again, we’ll watch our nation become balkanized kind of like what happen in Yugoslavia. Don’t ever think it can’t happen here. Many of the powerbrokers who helped tear Yugoslavia apart are here now! Allah-hu Akbar is a real battle cry and radical muslims are a real threat, regardless of what the Washington Post says!

In this country, many of the radical muslims are products of our prison system. Also, we are balkanizing, but along racial lines, & that’s exactly what many on the left want. Especially the top race hustlers Al & Jesse. No racial trouble, no job.

Step one was to blame conservatives.
Step two will be use Tucson as an excuse to try and force congress to drop any attempts to repeal Obamacare because it “will only further fan the flames of hatred.”

When the newly elected congress and its republican majority begin to try and and install the policies they were elected for the left is going to scream that they want more blood.
Never let a good crisis . . .

I suppose this article ran next to the one condemning the media and leftist wingnuts who pathetically tried to tie the actions of a clearly mentally ill shooter in Tuscon to conservatice politics. NOT!!
