We get £17,680 a year in benefits, buy 40 cigs a day, have a laptop and a home with 47-inch TV.. why work? “We don’t feel ashamed for being on benefits. Neither of us have the slightest bit of guilt towards the taxpayers as both of our parents have been paying into the tax system for the last 30 years. …So we are just getting back our parents’ huge contributions.” Ummm, whose contributions are your child going to “get back”?

why work

At least the house is clean. Or the room in the photo is.

What are these two going to do when Sharia law takes over? The Muslims are NOT going to support this.

Unless they convert to Islam.

I think he will have to strap some dynamite to his chest to let his wife get benefits. But he is clearly too selfish to do that, so she will get to become a prostitute for the brown men while he sits in their jails, and the baby gets trained to become a suicide bomber for the Jihad. Just sayin’

“People don’t understand — we’re actually stuck on benefits. In fact, we feel trapped.” Then their fellow citizens should do the right thing and end their benefits (and people like them).

“£110 in Job Seeker’s Allowance.” even though they’re not seeking a job…

This is so wrong, I’m not even going to touch this story anymore. I can’t do it. I’d be up all night typing a huge response, but it’s not necessary among you fine people who visit this site. I’m just going to go see if J.P. has posted anything new involving women, then laugh at the overused puns.

My thoughts exactly.
Only problem is the age old dilemma, what happens when you run out of other people’s money?

Now, now. John’s perfectly happy with his Ron Paul blowup doll with authentic butthole scent.

The truly sad thing in that picture is the child. That child did not choose to be in that situation – just imagine how that child will be acting when the power to reason falls upon its “skull of mush”

“The same would happen if I was to work somewhere like a supermarket. If I was earning less than £26,000 a year, there wouldn’t be any point. I’d be no better off. Who in their right mind would do that?”
He does have a point. Why work if the government will pay you better not to? The problem is the benefits system that makes it too easy.

“I am for doing good to the poor, but I differ in opinion of the means. I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. In my youth I traveled much, and I observed in different countries, that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer. ”

Benjamin Franklin said that in 1766.

I sort of take issue on the idea that one can live on government aid alone. When my kids were small, I was in a workplace type car accident. THis was late 80’s I received $940 dollars a month and did not qualify for housing food stamps medicaid or anything else. I had 3 kids with one younger than preschool and one in kinder and one in 3nd grade. Add to that, getting assistance is a full time job, to allow for hours long waiting, and you really need transportation other than the bus if you have a child to meet after school. Somenody tell my (other than my I’ll scratch your back if you scratch mine community ) how the HELL these people are getting all the aid. Let me explain. They get some aid, and supplement their income with various odd jobs that are paid under the table, so no tax, no effect on their freebies. Some women are married to illegals, so if it looks like someone is actually going to come inspect, they hightail it over the border and come back when the coast is clear, or live temporarily away from the family. And the paperwork to applu for some of this is maybe 30 pages both sides, with a boat load of supporting documentation to go with it. How is some one who can’t speak English, has an 8th grade education, maybe, and can’t do math or write intelligibly GET this stuff?

That’s what ACORN and groups like that are for. They fill out the documents and know what to say to get max benefits for the applicants.

Forgive me for saying this, but the reason you have had such a hard time is probably because you filled out your papers honestly. If you had said “screw it” and just lied your butt off on the applications, you would likely have gotten far more than you did.

I know it seems terrible to say that, but I think it’s the truth. You have to be willing to lie and cheat – which people like the ones in the article are willing to do – to get whatever you want. For people with good ethics, who have fallen on a hard time, the benefits are sparse. And that SUCKS, because, in my mind, YOU are the person I WANT to help out. You are the person who DESERVES a helping hand. These squatters and welfare queens? No – let them scrub freaking toilets. They are healthy and I should not be forced to pay for their BAD DECISIONS!

I agree that that is part of it. An here is SA, I am the wrong ethnic group. Nearly every position where there are benefits to be had are filled with minorities, predominantly Hispanic. I applied once for help with my utility bill and they were lovely over the phone, and encouraged me to come apply ASAP. When I got there and they SAW me (I have an Hispanic surname, but I am hard core Anglo) suddenly I didn’t have the right information with me ( I absolute brought exactly what they told me I needed), they didn’t have much money this month, and oh yeah, we need the children’s ACTUAL Social Security cards, not just the numbers (I had specifically asked about that before appearing in the office. Needless to say, I have never paid a dime into the Project Warm system to provide help with utilities to the needy.

It’s easy Rose, did you notice that the currency sign was for British Pounds? They find it even easier to get that kind of money there.

Living proof that liberalism is truly a mental disorder. This should bar them from reproducing and from owning any type of firearm.

Mummy and daddy should be so proud of these two. Getting to continue to be supported even though they now have a flat of their own.
