White House has had more live concerts than Madison Square Garden since Obama moved in

by editor on August 17, 2011

We once said that when Barack Obama claimed to have a laser-like focus on jobs, jobs, jobs, he was talking about caddies and greenskeepers. But we now have to admit that we were wrong.

MSNBC now gives us compelling evidence that he was talking about singers and their roadies:

click through to see who’s belted it out for Barack in the past. Just a warning — the White House has seen more live concerts than Madison Square Garden since the Obamas moved in.

Here’s the list provided by MSNBC:

Jennifer Hudson
Common
John Legend
Justin Bieber
Esperanza Spalding
Seal
Jamie Foxx
Sheryl Crow
Smokey Robinson
Nick Jonas
Beyonce
Paul McCartney
Bob Dylan
The cast of Glee
Stevie Wonder
Mark Anthony
Los Lobos
Sheila E
Gloria Estefan
Jose Feliciano
Harry Connick Jr.
Alison Krauss
Brad Paisley
Herbie Hancock
Pattie LaBelle

We assume this list does not include the times Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have come to the White House to sing the blues.

Just as many Latino stars have performed for him, too. You know… we’ll put on a show for you, you leave the illegals alone.

The one I don’t get is Gloria Estefan. She is from the Cuban exiles of Miami, & they are usually staunch anti-marxist/socialist. I don’t get it, I would love to hear an explanation.

I really liked a number of Gloria Estefan songs from about 20 years ago:”Falling In Love”, “Anything for You”, “Don’t Wanna Lose You”, “Bad Boy”. She sang for Pope John Paul II at the Vatican in 1995. When he later asked her to sing in Cuba when he visited there, she said she would never sing in Cuba while Castro was still in power. I remember her criticizing the Catholic Church for one of its moral teachings at one point. Whatever her story, she is a BIG and I mean BIG Obama supporter. She sang at a lunch in Washington, D.C. honoring Michelle Obama about three months ago.

The old Miami Sound Machine stuff was very good, but once it became Gloria Estafan, it went down hill. “Coming out of the Dark” was the end for her musically. Her shilling for a socialist(at the very least)is the end of me giving a damn. Very disappointing.

I have to admit that I liked “Turn the Beat Around” and I think that was after “Coming out of the Dark”. I haven’t though really cared nor willingly listened to her or bought her stuff in probably over ten years. If I do it is on the radio and usually is just old stuff that is pretty good. I have no idea if she is still doing things or if she is retired. :-/

She is a poser–and rubbing elbows with Obama is more important then any “principals” she may have ever claimed to have…Obama would teh US to be just like Cuba with him at the helm..

I’m disappointed in Alison Krauss and Brad Paisley. I thought that country singers were supposed to like America!

Jimmy Vaughn, who is the older brother of the late Stevie Ray Vaughn & is from Texas, who talked about playing The White House at the invite of the President. He is a bit of a lib, but accepted the invite to play when Bush43 invited him to do a gig. He said that as a Texas guy, with a Texan in The White House, you go when invited. He put politics aside to do the gig, & he’s damn good with a Fender in his hands.

I can understand that, but I’m pretty sure that Alison Krauss and Brad Paisley aren’t from Chicago! 😉

I know it, Hollywood is invading country music. I do wonder if they played the White House as an honor, reguadless of the President?

How many times did Bill Clinton have fools sing for him too?

Predictable idiot.

When Bush failed to be as “social” as Clinton he was mocked in the media. Damn if you do and damn if you don’t. However there has to be a sense of austerity when things are bad for the rest of the country.

Pretty sad line up when I have to admit that Justin Bieber is probably the only one on the list with any potential…..or talent for that matter. Call it youthful ignorance that he doesn’t know better than to turn down the offer to play for Barry and Mickies kids.

Justin Bieber? Talent?

Justin Beiber has more talent than a rock. Oh wait.. . I just insulted a rock. Sorry about that. carry on.

Jeezus H. !!!!!! More talent compared to the rest of the people on that list is what I meant. Hacks and hazbeens all of them, the bievber is just starting his career……

He’s still a no-talent hack, and as long as people keep telling him he’s doing a good job, he’ll keep believing it.

This is what happens when an unqualified black man is in a position of power – corruption. Happens every time. When you voted for this baboon you should have known that jungle parties were gonna be the norm.

Look out America, monkeyshines are afoot!

They didn’t mention Joan Baez or the flag burning and puppet show put on in memory of Abbie Hoffman.
