    • Right the cops should have allowed him to run through the streets shooting at people and the cops until he ran out of ammo and then arrest him, because that is how police procedure goes right? Are you being serious or are you joking? I want to give you the benefit of the doubt. Also what exactly is the upside of keeping him alive when he clearly wanted to die and take as many people with him as possible?

  • They are now reporting that he was stopped and questioned by authorities before entering the area. He told them that he was delivering ice cream and they let him go. That should have thrown up a red flag because as far as I can tell, that truck is not a reefer or refrigerated truck.

    • Hindsight is 20/20. He may have had all of his papers in order and considering the event AND the season (summer), ice cream delivery is not far fetched. Also I wouldn't be able to tell you which truck is refrigerated or not, I cannot expect cops to know that either unless they KNOW due to experience. The only thing I could say is that they should have looked twice or three times since he had the name and the looks of a person within the age range of a contemporary terrorist. But of course political correctness wouldn't have allowed for that to the French detriment.

        • Like I said, you can't expect everyone to know this. Why would you just because you do? I wouldn't know and I wouldn't expect even all cops to know. You can ask average people on the street and I bet you, you will get as many people that don't know as people that do. They may have "a very distinguishable feature" and a particular noise, but in the middle of noisy location with preoccupations of other kinds and with no certain knowledge like yours, things happen. As for the truck itself I wouldn't fault people because of that. Considering the location, the festivities and the season, the story was very likely as well. If you want to fault the police for being lax, we wouldn't disagree, but perhaps we have different reasons.I also haven't heard this in the news either, is this something that you saw somewhere and has this been verified for sure? I didn't hear nor read anything like this yesterday. It would be interesting to know what the police that stopped him have to say for themselves.

          The only thing that I would say was the problem, was that they didn't profile. A driver named Momo (unless he used fake ID) or a driver that absolutely looks like someone who fits the profile of a contemporary terrorist should have been looked at twice or thrice in order to ascertain that his story was true. Perhaps the gun fight would have started earlier, had they had done that and perhaps the situation wouldn't have been as bad if the police were alerted before he had a chance to go deeper into the street. Like I said in my statement above, political correctness probably kept them from profiling, if any mistake that was the one.

        • And the noise that goes with it. From what I read, he was there for quite a few hours before going on his rampage. That would require refrigeration.

          • They should have never allowed a truck with a driver named Mohamed access to a large crowd without at least taking a look inside. Like CO2Insanity brought up below, it could have been loaded with explosives. Political correctness is getting people killed. We had better get diligent in trying to prevent these type of attacks.

  • I am sure BLM and the democrats will complain to the media that the French Police took away the Due Process from this guy and they will protest...

    Whats sad is this morning I read a story about how BLM is pissed because everyone is feeling bad for all the "white" folks in France and this is taking away from their Day of Rage/Irritation/Jock Itch or whatever the hell they call it.

    It's a good thing gun control has not yet taken guns out of the hands of cops.

  • Crazy respect for these officers. They had no idea what was strapped to him, what was in the truck, if there was a dead man's switch.... They continued to do their jobs to protect innocent people from this animal. If only the world had more self-less people like these running around on it.

    • That truck could have been filled with explosives and made a giant kaboom. Glad it wasn't.
