  • I can't get in an uproar about this. Seems like there might be more to the story than we know.

But preaching the gospel in a predominantly muslim nation doesn't seem like the smartest move a guy could make. Half of our country falls under the label of agnostic or atheist; plenty of souls to save over here without the fear of losing your head trying to convert muslims.

He's been doing it for a quarter century. Turkey isn't like Saudi Arabia or other Muslim countries. After all, Turkey was at one time the home of the Christian Orthodox Church so there's a lot of Christians there. The "more to the story" is that Turkey is using him to get someone they want from the U.S.... and because he's a Christian they figure he won't generate much sympathy from most Turks.

      • Yeah, I get that. I've been to Turkey and was amazed of all the stereotypes that we have about them that just don't fit. Being a christian doesn't garner him much sympathy from most Americans either. He's put himself in a bad spot.
