Trump, Better than the Alternative! LOL what a heck of a slogan. It's also misleading. I'm very concerned that Carson was bought off. or ought one to say has been bought off.
I still respect the man. He came out of nothing to make something of himself and if he was part of this site, he would be the most educated and the smartest person in this site. If any of us were trapped somewhere in need of medical assistance and he was right on the other side willing to help us out, we would thank G-D that he is on the other side willing to help us out.
The thing is that he didn't have to endorse anyone. He could have just quietly watched and see and then graciously give his support to whomever won the nomination. He could have actually spent his time going after the Plantation Party. Trump doesn't deserve his endorsement at this point in time, neither does Cruz. If anything he could have endorsed Rubio or Kasich, but endorsing Trump tells me that he didn't want to "waste" his endorsement and that is not a good look... but with that said I still respect the man, just don't agree with his move here.
I wouldn't throw Carson under the bus over this. His deal has been that things are absolutely corrupt in the system, and Trump is about as far out of that system as it gets. At least farther than the rest of the candidates. They're all politicians, after all. I'm not saying he's the guy, just what I think Carson's motivation might be.
And it's not just limited to Carson. There have been a LOT of evangelicals that have gone to Trump over Cruz, which surprised the hell outta me. But it appears that the religious right, at least a fair number of them, have put aside their religious views in the hopes of getting the results they want in DC.
What the heck are you talking about? Trump IS the system...he has embraced the system and used it to his advantage for the last 40 years. He loves the system as it is. You are flat out crazy if you think he will do one thing end the system. Heck no, he wants be able to go right back to it.
Hear, hear! Trump is the epitome of the crony capitalist. Endorsing Trump because the system is corrupt is like opening the refrigerator to save money on air conditioning... stupid.
I'm talking about Carson's reasoning. I thought I made that pretty clear. And, lo and behold...he's on Neil Cavuto at this very moment saying the same thing.
I'm not a Trump guy, but there have been enough evangelicals to vote for him to show that Carson isn't an anomaly. Yes, Trump is the system...the capitalistic system. It's the political system that Carson is worried about...a system that has, and will screw over the wants and needs of the voters to maintain the status quo.

Kimmy--I understand and respect your position, although I disagree with what Dr. Carson did. He is a great man who can do wonderful things. It is my belief that he has gone against his principles which is a poor example to give to others who look up to him.
As I mentioned I don't agree with his decision to do this either. I agree with you that this is a very bad move because it does look like an unprincipled move. I don't know what is in his heart nor mind so I am not ready to say that it WAS an unprincipled moved on his part, but it DOES look like that. It is possible that many of us were wrong about him and he was just another opportunist but unlike Trump kept it well hidden... until now.

Oh look, another politician who claims he's christian, but really isn't. Remember when Nancy Piglosi claimed to be a staunch catholic, while calling for abortion up to and including after birth? Yeah, we all do to. Ben, you are a sociopath-but I said that from the beginning. Gifted surgeon-but a narcissistic sociopath who acts on ego-as in hoping and praying he will be given a cush job in the Trump Tyranny, I mean Administration.

Not VP, but surgeon general or running HHS, or the VA, you could do worse.
There was talk this morning by a dedicated RINO (Geraldo) that Kasich should be picked as VP because he's a moderate. That would be a disaster! He needs to be kept as far away from national politics and decision making as possible! The last thing we need is another milquetoast moderate RINO in a position of power.
I dislike Kasich, but he would moderate the ticket (not really a compliment but you know what I mean), and he should deliver Ohio.
Kasich is a sitting Governor, & he's from Ohio. That last part is why people think he should be picked as VP.
My thought too. I'm from Oiho and a Kasich veep might swing the majority of loons in this state to a GOP ticket. Then he could be locked away and kept as insurance à la Biden.
That was my first thought, he wants to join Crispy Creme in the administration...
Christie could be very useful in DOJ, some goes for Giuliani, & Trump knows both of them well.
