Even with ‘Star Wars’ surge, moviegoing could hit 22-year low. Blame bad sequels, rising ticket prices and streaming. They forgot to mention Hollywood sexual harassment scandals and pontificating liberal movie stars as reasons people stay away. Last time we went to the movies was 1991.

My wife says she wants to see the Churchill movie. I asked if she would be upset if, during the disclaimer, I stood up and shouted, "What leftist puke put THAT in there?" She said she'd fall out of her seat laughing.
The price of a medium bag of popcorn and a bottle of water is about as much as the movie ticket. Also, I'm tired of politics in my movies. Who in their right mind would want to see "Post"--a movie about a leftist who steals classified documents and gives to a leftist newspaper to print. Riveting? Not. I think this movie will bomb.
Could it perhaps have something to do with people just aren't entertained by the adventures of Social Justice Warriors?
I haven't been to a movie theater since 1993, mostly because it got to be too expensive and the quality of movies in general declined.
On top of that, I was never the type that thought "I gotta see this" or engage in celebrity hero worship and the quality of "acting" was laughable compared to what I grew up with. If I wanted to watch a movie, I'd rent it or wait for it to come out on PPV.
The idiots from Hollyweird just make it all easier.
I think the last movie I saw at a theater was "Silence of the Lambs" when it first came out. I've become a shameless recluse. The only places I will willingly go are Food Lion and Lowe's.
No matter what the LA Times says, the drop in audience numbers is primarily due to the drop in the number of American residents who understand English(and also, of course, climate change).
ROTFL! Plus I have to agree with most other comments, why do I want to pay $50 for my husband I to go to a movie and be lectured at by moral idiots?!
And speaking of being lectured by Hollywood numbskulls, the new Churchill movie, believe it or not, carries an onscreen warning: "The depictions of tobacco smoking are based solely on artistic consideration." They are so superior in Hollywood, you see, that they think movie watchers will see Churchill chomping on that cigar all the time and start smoking.

You're right. Last time I went to a movie we walked out. Some mexicans were behind us, one was translating for the other. Loudly. Movie sucked so bad anyway, though i can't recall what it was!
