  • While I certainly can appreciate how he feels, the judge was right, that is NOT how the system works, and for good measure, a man unable to control his baser instincts was exactly the root of the crime.

    Now, I'm not sure the father should be in jail. Maybe a nominal $10 fine for inappropriate behavior in the courtroom.

  • "Use your words and experiences to make him change"...Is she F-king stupid? Words aren't going to change a damn predator. They won't change unless it's a change from alive to dead...I'm going to have to walk away, the stupid is too strong with that one.

  • Reading through the comments below made me think about why parents push their kids to excel in sports or in a Hollyweird career, all that stuff.

    We are hearing all these stories about child "stars" who now say they were "abused" by some Hollyweird mogul. We are hearing about this doctor "abusing" these girls who wanted to be in the Olympics. It all boils down to the same thing. Were the parents so blind, so self centered, wanting their child to be the star, the top athlete that they turned a blind eye to what was going on? That is what I am thinking, the parents wishes over ruled their responsibility to their children.

    I have three daughters. I supported them in anything they wanted to do. But my girls would have told me if anyone had tried to mess with them and I would have taken care of the problem immediately. None of my daughters wanted to be in the Olympics or be a movie star but the point is if that is what they wanted I would have backed them all the way. But not to the point to where they had to be treated like whores to get what they wanted. I would have put a stop to that in a heartbeat and it would not have been pretty. Nobody messes with my children to this day and they are grown with families of their own.

  • Guys, I know this will raise some hackles, but I think it needs to be said. Yes, Nassar should be dead. But, the father should have done it years ago. Can anyone out there say how parents that had 3 daughters molested by the same guy could be UNAWARE of it? Those girls probably demonstrated symptoms of abuse and yet the man and his wife never suspected a thing? Parents should have good enough communication with their children that this would have been revealed. I think the father was just doing his "Hold me back! Hold me back or I'll kill this bastard!" in public so he wouldn't have to reveal how oblivious he was as a father, or how he was willing to ignore it so his girls could be Olympic stars. You know, the people that make the most noise are just posing. He could have been of the quite and deadly type and wouldn't have had to have been such a poseur. Unless that's he wanted to show what a wonderful protective father he was. AFTER the fox had already raided the chicken coop.

    • You maybe correct. Vicarious glory from his daughters may have blinded him. He OBVIOUSLY didn't know his daughters well. Him and his wife. However it is more, in my opinion, about being angry with himself and wanting revenge than putting up a show.

    • You might be right. I've been turning it over and over in my head trying to figure out how so many parents were oblivious. I just don't get it. I raised two daughters pretty much on my own and this COULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED. First of all, if any doctor had ever told me he needed to examine my daughter in private, I would have left that office immediately. How did this many parents allow a male doctor to examine their daughters in private, without their presence and without a nurse being present?

      And by the way, the war I raised my daughters, I wouldn't need to break the doctor's nose. My daughters would have.

      • Sighs... Mike Pence is a stable genius... well... G-D is the GENIUS here. How many girls would have been saved had parents used this rule? With that said, some parents WERE in the room and he still touched the girls inappropriately, so in addition it would have been about being in the room and ACTIVELY observing the examination. I wouldn't trust a nurse.

      • LOL...My daughters were the same way, they would have cold cocked any doctor who tried to mess with them. Then told me about it so the real ass whipping could begin.

        • What is wrong with a female doctor? The first time I had to get a prostrate exam the doctor was a big old boy and his finger was bigger than a baseball bat! The next time I went to the clinic the doctor was a woman and she had slim little fingers, much easier than the baseball treatment! LMOAO

  • Three daughters, all of them giving victim statements... any man would have lost it. Yeah, I wish the deputies in the courtroom would have been a little slower to react. The sound of crunching nose cartilage would have gone a long way toward making the guy feel a little better.

      What kind of knucklehead goes to court wearing a Union Tee? What kind of knucklehead judge allowed this guy in wearing a tee? Show up in a suit and tie; guarantee the bailiffs would have reacted slower.
