I'm surprised she HAD her inhaler. Texas has severe allergen problems, and the goal for a rescue inhaler is just that: rescue. But most schools here require all medications be kept at the nurses office, and distributed by her. Or an attendance secretary, cause, you know, secretaries are pros with asthma treatment. I would also be interested in what caused the other girl's attack in gym class. Many asthma attacks are triggered by exercise. Had she been allowed to take HER inhaler? Was she being forced to run? One of the kids at my middle school was hospitalized after the coach made him run. Despite his limitation on exercise, the coach decided he was faking and made him run laps.
I'm surprised they didn't charge her with drug distribution.
