Holy shit, this is bad news. The Norte Dame cathedral in Paris is going up in flames, it looks like the church may be a total loss. One of the most famous churches in the world, over 700 years old, may be lost for all time.
I had a bad feeling when the fire started. 700 year old wood, you can only imagine how ready that shit was to burn. And with the way the Pope has been behaving, the fires of hell probably came into play too.
Turns out I was wrong about the wood. (Mark this down, first time I've ever been wrong.) According to the guy in charge of renovations, the 800-year-old oak beams that held up the Notre Dame cathedral have slowly been turning into something that is hard as rock and very difficult, almost impossible, to ignite. Which makes the fire very suspicious. The electrical system was updated, there were automatic alarms everywhere, and the oak would take a LOT of kindling to get burning, so... Oh, did I mention there were a lot of Muslim workers involved in the renovation?
The news this morning is not as bad as expected. It looks like the building itself will be alright but we will know more later when people have had a chance to inspect things in the daylight. The golden cross and altar survived, a miracle in itself.
AOC was quoted this AM as 'hoping they got that Quasarmotor guy out of there safe, cuz he's like physically challenged and stuff.'
He's probably the one who started the fire. I just have a hunch...
He'd have to have some Hugo brass to pull that one off.
