  • For deep, not so, and all those in law enforcement, I have this little story. My fourth ex-wife headed up the newly formed gang control unit for the Albuquerque Police Department. Through her I met a lot of APD cops at functions or parties or some kind of celebration. Once they knew I was a vet and not some kind of dikweed they would talk to me about some things, but not all. Like combat veterans they don't share with those who would never understand because they were not there.

    I attended a funeral of an officer who was killed by an asshole over a traffic stop. I have attended a lot of military funerals and the feeling is the same. It rips your heart out to know another good man is dead. In a way it was worse because this happened in our city and a man who swore to protect and serve that community is gone. At least in war we were firing on a known enemy, not someone in our community.

  • Every time I see this low life scum PoS and the gay as looking sheriff, I want to shot my screen. When you raise your right hand and take the oath to be in law enforcement it is a sacred oath. One that should not be taken lightly. These whole F%^&ing DS ass holes are COWARDS. Let me repeat that COWARDS, those in LE all know today could be the day that we don't go home at the end of our shift. It is always in the back of your mind. However, we also know that we took an oath to protect and to serve. We bury that thought, go do our sworn duty and at the end of the day are grateful as we pull into our driveways

      You and Not So know it as cops. Those of us who have served in war know it. Everyone who takes the oath and picks up the gun knows that something bad may happen some day. And fear? Bet your ass we feel fear, no sane man wouldn't be a little scared when moving up to the danger. But we took the oath, we picked up the gun, now we have a job to do. And you don't hide while blathering on a radio while children are being murdered.

  • Firecrackers my ass. My 82 year old mother can tell you the difference in a firecracker and the sound of an AR-15. Radioing in and securing the perimeter? Bunch of crap. One radio call, get everyone possible out here, it's a school shooting. Then yell at the kids already outside to run. One man is not going to secure shit so tell the kids to run then get inside to try to find the shooter. Real cops, like anyone in the military, do not hide. They face the danger and move towards it to try to stop the violence.
