  • Sure I could go out there and join the SJW's in their quest for economic protectionism, corporatism and a higher minimum wage. But if I was really interested in bringing about those things it would be far more effective for me to just support Trump.

  Unlike most in the field (most particularly the Demonrat side), he DOES seem to understand the economic laws at play -- “If you start playing around too much with that lower level number, you are not going to be competitive,” (Quote provided since most of you will just clutch said pearls and not actually read a word of the link.)

  • No, that isn't the "economic laws at play"--that's a snapshot of the view from an elitist, the "what's in it for me" attitude which is pretty much what you better get used to with this guy. The important economic law at play is that minimum wage laws create unemployment among the most vulnerable job seekers. If you don't understand that, you cannot explain it to others, in which case you cannot stop minimum wage increases. You can't fight that war by saying, "Hey, me and my billionaire friends can't be competitive in the marketplace paying high wages." Sheesh. I mean, seriously, sheesh.

  • I watched the video, from which the quote was derived, and it is clear that he is absolutely open to raising the minimum wage but that his ultimate goal was to bring back good jobs (and this part was more implicit) by starting a trade war with China. Which tells me that we would all be far better off if instead of going to U Penn he had read Chapter 11 of Economics in One Lesson.

    As far as Ben Carson goes, he was never my guy. I stood up for him when he was being unfairly maligned by the media (something I have also done for Trump) and I ridiculed him when he was being ridiculous. Didn't know about his stance on minimum wage though. I would definitely have taken him to task on that.

    • That part kind of startled me too. I was a supporter of his until he started talking like the Constitution had geographical limits.

  • According to the story linked (did you read a word of it?), Santorum was ALSO in favor of raising the minimum. Is Rick Santorum a "full-socialist"?

    • Santorum is a full idiot.
      He was just like many of the other failed candidates, he looked interesting in the beginning, but the more we got to know about him, the less we liked him.

    • So your defense is that Rick Santorum did it? Seriously? Well, here's the natural comeback: did Santorum subsequently clinch the presidential nomination and then immediately reverse his position and call for lowering the minimum wage? Because that would be a comparable situation.

      I guess the lesson a Trumpster takes from this is that if only Santorum had lied through his teeth like Trump maybe he would have fared better in the primaries.

    • That starts part one. Part two begins just as soon as the media realizes it is safe to destroy him (now that it won't benefit Cruz) and unloads every nasty thing they have on him.

      • Started already this morning. Every day I open my Yahoo mail and then log out, which takes me to the main Yahoo page, and the headlines have been all positive about Trump and negative about Cruz for months. And then this morning, like a switch has been flipped, suddenly I am greeted by a negative headline about Trump. For the first time. They might delay the full feeding frenzy until after the convention, but the media is going to turn on Trump like hyenas and tear him a new rectum. They always do after they trick the idiots into nominating a RINO. Remember how McCain was the media's darling until he got the nomination? Then suddenly he was a wife-cheating, gold-digging, blowhard. And in McCain's case, the wife-cheating wasn't even real! Imagine what it's gonna be like with Trump who really is a giant blob of sleaze!

          And of course Trump was factually wrong, as he usually is. Just about everything that comes out of his mouth is BS. Nobody was correcting him before because of course they wanted him to win the Republican nomination. Now that he's got it, they're going to make sure everybody in American sees what a moron he is.

I get tired of all the NOW/PP/Rabid-Feminist complaints about Trump with no mention of Hillary and the fact that she blamed a 12 year old victim for her own rape so she could get a guy (she knew to be guilty!) off the hook.
