• So am I the only one who notices that Kasich stayed in until Cruz was eliminated and then immediately dropped out? What exactly changed since yesterday? It wasn't Trump's insurmountable lead that changed, or Kasich's pathetic delegate count, or a sudden shift in the polls. It was Cruz dropping out. Proof, as far as I'm concerned, that he was in there by request of the establishment to bleed votes from Cruz, and now his job is done.

  And mark my words, the liberal RINO governor of Ohio is the perfect VP choice for Trump. Puke 'em if you got 'em.

  • I understand the reasoning...but just like you showing me why you love your House Rep & I started paying attention to him from way down here in lowly Ohio I have also been warning you all about Kasich for at least 2 years.

    That being said, I'm also a gambling man, as in trying to look at something from all sides dispassionately ( I call it 'cube it', as in Rubik's Cube; flip, twist, look, turn... throw it) and I just can't see it happening.

    My gut tells me that Gov. John has a better chance snagging an appointment (ambassador to Libya?) in a Clinton administration or pulling a Full-Weasel and switching parties after crying foul. The loser.

    So I'll bet ya (a beer?) JP that it won't happen. But hey, that's just me.

    I was going to say, "Well, his job is done, he made sure Cruz couldn't mount a fair challenge, when the loser kept draining votes from him. I'm sure Trump will now reward him for his efforts.

  Probably a good move, without Cruz there is no realistic chance of slowing down Trump. Now, maybe, unite and fight to beat Hillary. Start to pave the way for 2020 win as well.

  • Kasich's whole job was to keep Cruz from slowing down Trump. Had he left when he should, it would have been head to head Cruz and Trump, and Trump would have lost.

    • We will never agree on that one. Kasich really beleived in a contested convention he was going to get the nod, not Cruz. He needed Cruz to stop Trump.

      Cruz stepped down, imo, becuase he knew it was political suicide to get to a contested convention. Trump played the system so voters really believed Cruz was circumventing their votes, it created the appearace he was indeed establishment.

      No way Cruz was going to beat Trump, but thats all history now.

        That's how stupid voters are. Trump is actually the one who benefited from the rules and circumvented their votes. Indiana was just the latest example where he got a higher percentage of delegates than he got votes. Like in New York. Like in a dozen other states. Nobody benefited from the winner-take-all states more than Trump, but in his ignorance he went around bellyaching and whining about Cruz circumventing voters.

        And he also benefited from millions of Democrats voting for him. So in essence the whole Trump campaign was a giant case of disenfranchising Republican voters. But I guess facts pale in comparison to a heartily delivered "Lyin' Ted!" or "Cruz the Cheater!"

          When the winner is telling you the system is rigged, he is telling you the truth.

          Courting the delegates without voters input is what Trump let play out and what led Cruz to appear an establishmnet guy. To continue to pretend Trump didn't know exaclty what he was doing is being willfully blind.

          Cruz would have been better served trying to identify with those voters instead of walking right into Trumps trap. By insulting Trump and insinuating he was just not bright enough to know how its done further pushed the notion that it was an insider game.

          Which it is. Trump just shined a light on it for all to see, not just political
          junkies.

          Disenfranchied Republican votes...lmbo And Ted should not have lied, then he would not have been tagged with that idiotic insult. But, as always Cruz blew it over and over again. The problem btwn Trumps lies and Cruz's lies are simple. Trump was never held to a to high a standard his change of mind does not equal a lie. Cruz was, when he lied about - for example- about Trumps wanting to do away with the second amendment it was just a stupid thing to do.

The rules are the rules and the man who benefited the most from those rules is the man who was doing all the whining about them.
