Niagra Falls is frozen over with parts of the United States are now colder than the surface of Mars

Niagra Falls is frozen over with parts of the United States are now colder than the surface of Mars. Yes it’s more global warming, brought to you by Al Gore and friends.

CO2Insanity: Tired of the CO2 BS and all the other BS in the US and the world.

  • It was minus 26 F last night here in the (obviously) frozen great white north so it's really annoying hearing the sniveling Left lecturing us that it's "weather" and not "climate". I'll remind them of that next summer when it's 100+ degrees out. It's WEATHER, not climate, you silly goose!

    • Went for a walk two days in a row and I have to admit it was a bit of a shock. Especially when I was headed into the wind.

  • San Antonio is frozen this AM. Will have to haul hot water out to the frozen trough so horses can have a drink. And we're just a few miles south of Niagara Falls, NY.

    • You don't own an axe or sledge hammer? I grew up in northern New Mexico and have seen cold weather like you Texans cannot imagine. I watched dad, grandpa, an uncle, go to the river and bust ice on the river so our cattle and horses could get a drink until I was old enough to do it. And since we hauled our water from that same river so mom could cook and clean we had several holes we kept open during cold times. No big deal, it was part of life at the time!

You Texans have lived the good life for so long you are turning into a bunch of sissies. (snicker) Cowboy up MGAP! Buy an axe or good hammer and quit wasting hot water your wife might need to warsh your underdrawers! HAHAHA

    • Yeah, I woke up to 50* in the House. 27* outside. Hubby turned up the heat and I turned on the fireplace that we were told we’d never use here in San Antonio.

      • Welcome to south Texas winter. We'll probably have the A/C on next week. I can recall several times where we've had the A/C and the heater on, in the same day!

    • Yeah, um, they're horses, right? Michigan horses figure out how to deal with frozen water so I'm sure Texas horses can figure it out, too. Might take them a bit longer but...

        • In my younger days we took an axe and cut holes in the ice so our live stock could get a drink. And haul water to the hogs and chickens. And haul water to the house for mom. Summer, fall or winter, the river running through the old home place where I grew up was our lifeline. And we never let a little ice get in our way, even if it got a foot thick. We just keep chipping away with the axe and kept the holes open.

        • They break through the ice and drink the water. Same thing you or I would do... Okay, wait, same thing I would do.

Honestly, I don't know. I don't own horses. But I know people who own horses and I stayed in a Holiday Inn Express once and I'm pretty sure nobody hauls buckets of warm water from the house. I've actually seen a horse break through a crust of ice in a water trough (with his hoof) and I've actually seen horses grazing in a snow-covered field and thought to myself, "I bet they get a lot of snow with every mouthful," but maybe you don't have snow there, just cold temperatures.

          • We're having a rare dip into the 20s and to my knowledge the first time they've seen a frozen trough. Plus, you don't know my wife, she babies her ponies! I imagine they'd figure it out eventually, she just didn't give them a chance.

          • LOL. I remember when I was a kid and my mother would worry about our dog in the winter. "Oh I hope Snoopy is okay in this weather. Maybe we should bring him inside." Then we'd look out the window and he'd be sound asleep lying on top of the snow. He wouldn't even bother using the dog house until it was well below zero. And if we brought him inside he'd be all excited for about ten seconds and then he'd be like, "Holy shit! it's hot in here! Are you people crazy? Let me back outside!"

          • Lol...Sounds familiar! We had a bunch of coon hounds when I was a kid and they never saw the inside of the house. When the snow started getting deep they would curl up in their houses and wait for us to shovel them out. 20 below zero was common, the dogs didn't care. Unless it was snowing they didn't care about their dog houses until the bitter cold hit. And they could still sniff out a coon, a bear, a deer or elk from 100 feet away and start baying. To hell with the weather, they wanted to go hunting! And we did too. Looking back at my younger years it seems like we didn't have any more sense than those coon dogs had. (snicker)

  • But. And with great sarcasm here that I repeat this. CNN says it’s not America warming, it’s global warming. According to THEM, the earth is still hotter than average.

  • From the article: "Niagara Falls has turned to ice as temperatures plummet to record-breaking lows — leading to frozen sharks washing up on the beach."

    LOL! Good one.

    • Surely they don't mean sharks at Niagara Falls. Surely they aren't that geographically challenged. And surely they don't think sharks can actually freeze to death.

But I do foresee another Sharknado sequel in our future: "Sharksicle!"

      • They got it right later in the article, but sharks on Niagara "beaches" really got my attention! LOL

        • People who have never been to Niagara Falls don't realize that it ALWAYS looks like that from December to March.

  • I've been saying it for like twenty years, if it ain't warming everywhere, you can't call it global warming. Crap like this is why they switched over to calling it climate change. Either way, it's a crock of shit.
