NY St Patricks Day Parade

NY St. Patrick’s Day Parade: gays in, Catholics out. So a parade in honor of a Catholic saint will feature openly gay floats advocating anti-Catholic ideas, while Catholic pro-life floats are banned. Mayor De Blasio is finally happy and will not boycott this year.

  • This hasn't been a celebration of a saint in decades.
When I worked as a bouncer, we called it amateur night. It was an excuse to get stupid drunk and pass out and puke in public. It was second only to New Years Eve as stupid drunk night.

    • Didn't St. Patrick banish all the spiders from Scotland? ;) Man after my own heart; scotch, green beer and all. lmao

      • It is my understanding that he help get rid of the pagan religions in Ireland. Many of these people were tattooing themselves with snakes and I guess that is where the whole driving out snakes from Ireland comes from.

  • This does not even make any sense... St. Patrick (Bishop/ Maewyn Succat was his name) is probably shaking his head... A day to commemorate his rather serious and amazing journey of slavery and missionary work turned into a day of slobbery, drunkenness and lascivious behavior. If anything you would think that would be St. Valentine's Day, but of course that day does come with its own issues. I blame the Catholic Church and Catholics generally speaking for this. This is to be put firmly at their feet for their lazy ass ways and Christians in general for our running away from the culture and allowing the freaks to take over.

  • With a clown like De Blasio as mayor I'm betting their will be more LBGT losers then police at this joke of a parade.

  • It should be called Irish Day and make it always on a Monday or Friday. That way the drunks could be blotted out on a long weekend and the rest could go skiing or to the BIG TOYOTA-THON SALE.

    • It stopped being a religious holiday a long time ago. Either reclaim it as such OR turn it into a secular holiday (change the Saint's Day to another day if possible if not then have the secular holiday moved). That way if/when Catholics want to celebrate the Saint's Day they can celebrate the day religiously and those who want to celebrate Irish culture in a secular manner can do so on another day.

  • Whoop it up, folks! You're so utterly convinced that there's no such thing as sin. Oh, and, hey, you've got a new idea of God: he, she or it is totally cool with everything as long as you're happy!

    So party on!

    ...What could possibly go wrong?
