NYTimes: Suburban De-Zoning Doubles Housing Prices. Why yes indeed. Soon no one will be able to afford a used single-family dwelling in California thanks to Gavin Newsom and the Democrats. Like land, they won’t be making new ones. We hope all the morons who voted to keep Gavin in enjoy this.

This has been going on for decades. Every time the government fucks with housing in any way, the effect is to make it more expensive. That's why housing is so expensive in New York City and the whole state of California and a number of other localities. And sometimes it's innocuous stuff, like not allowing homeowners in rural areas to clear the brush around their houses. Sounds innocuous and "green," right? But what that means is that forest fires can take out entire residential neighborhoods, which being insured cause the homeowner's insurance for everybody in the whole state to skyrocket. I saw a video once of a completely burned out neighborhood in California except for one house that was sitting there unharmed amidst the ruins. Why? Because THAT guy ignored the regulations about not clearing his land. He cleared enough to make a fire break around his home, and so the fire couldn't get to his house. Simple, logical, common sensical.
